Really like this style of video and great pics man! Wish I was as brave as you ordering vintage pieces online though. I always get too scared they won’t fit and you won’t be able to return them!
I lost a lot of weight last year so had to go through this process and my early wardrobe pieces were very similar to this. I even had to buy new shoes because my feet got narrower -whitesville white tees -vintage og 107 fatigue shirt -used levi's 501 jeans -used carhartt detroit jacket -vans oldskool low sneakers -rm williams goodwood boot -rm williams crazy horse 1 1/2 inch belt
You’ve really inspired me to tap into the secondhand market. It’d be cool to hear your tips and guidance on how to navigate eBay, depop etc. and knowing how to feel confident about authenticity or red flags to look out for when browsing.
Fun video to watch, and the rationale for each choice was well thought out. Good proportions for your frame. I have a very similar belt in black, and I simply had a leatherworker source the hardware and put it all together. I found her selling her goods at an arts & craft show.
James... I know I've seen every video you've made when before seeing this one, I could predict which pieces you were going to mention. Keep up the good work.
Watching this and reflecting on my essentials, Ive realized we slightly similarly share the same 1. Vintage Levis 511 2. Uniqlo crew neck black shirt 3. Levis Trucker Jacket 4. Marquina belt (local leather shoe & leather brand in 🇵🇭 PHL) 5. Vintage worn-out Abercrombie cap (i have one which ive been using for nearly a decade now haha) 6. White Chuck 70s 7. A pair of Acne studios shorts (cause we just need shorts in here hehe)
Aritizia (if available to you) has women's belts with a brass buckle and tip that are similar but have a shinier dressier leather. The size options are limiting for waists since it's a women's clothing store though
I'd definitely have some knitwear in there. The best jumpers I've found are from two British companies called Peregrine and another from &Sons. I'd immediately buy an Aran sweater in oatmeal from the former and a Shawl Collar Cardigan from the latter- both 100% wool, Made in England, pretty much live in those in the Autumn/Winter!
Hey dude, I know this is super random to put on a random video, but in a lot of videos I see you wearing a heavy brown knit. I love the cut an colour but have no idea what it is? I feel like I would love a video from you about where to find quality knitwear as we slowly approach the autumn!
My 505 from 94' are lower rise than my 501 from 97' so I don't think there are rules when it comes to that. I also read somewhere that 505 fits from the 90s can vary quite a bit but I only have experience with the one pair that I've got.
Great video. Thank you for linking so many clothing items. Definitely need to give the loop wheels a try. I have a super short torso. Any reccs on the shortest one. So I don’t need to visit the tailor if possible. Keep up the hard work 🙏🏼
I had to do something similar to this, due to gaining weight. Creating a capsule wardrobe is super fun. Id repurchase my carhartt jackets immediately, also the doc martens i have. For jeans Id probably not get levis again, and i'd go with japanese denim like oni, or momotaro
I just got a Salomon XT-WINGS 2, kinda love it but feels so weird and I was not ready for this ultimate dad / hiking style. I'm really into gorpcore but feel like shoes like Salomons are not like you can just wear it with anything. Any advice?
Hey James how are you? I hope you're doing great why don't you make a video about your tattoos i always see them when you're wearing half-sleeve t-shirt and clearly in the thumbnail i would love to know about them😄
James, cool video, do you have any recommendations for OG-107 pants sizing? I'm a 34" waist and usually do 30" length, do these shrink like classic Levis do? Should I size up in waist and length?
For the OG 107 pants, do you think a size small would fit me if I'm around 31-32 inch waist? I usually don't get size small for pants but it seems like the size guide runs large.
I'd buy a 3 pack of white Tshirts, dark selvedge jeans, grey sweatpants, an oversized camel shacket, a pair of cream slip on vans pop cush, a pale pink linen shirt and a plush, waterproofed winter coat. Brands aren't important to me, but textiles and stitching solidity are.
missed opportunity to include socks and underwear as a joke
😭
>he wears underwear
somehow I adore this presenter, a not so loud screaming voice and he actually explains stuff so we learn something. apart from being utterly cute 💫
I'm slacking on vintage 505's, thanks for the nudge James!
Yooo Eddie, definitely give them a try my man 👊

I just cant bring myself to spend $75+ on a tee shirt.
That’s fair 👍 there’s plenty of lower priced ones that are great as well. I’m just a sucker for loopwheel these days
@@JamesLeung Bronson is less pricey
Make more $
Whitesville has a 2 pack loopwheeled made in japan for 80$, if you want to check that out :)
@XYZ_Vu They have cheaper OG-107s too.
I love creative people so much!!! Let me sit down and watch this brilliance❤🎉
Thank you! 🙏

love more stuff like this. this just such little content for men's capsule wardrobe content or where to start
James... I know I've seen every video you've made when before seeing this one, I could predict which pieces you were going to mention. Keep up the good work.
Haha I’m honoured you know my favourite pieces! Also shows how predictable I am 🤣
@@JamesLeung Ha. I wouldn't go with predictable in a bad way. You can only have so many favourite pieces of clothing.

Yes. Loafers and socks: 1950s (Gene Kelly especially)
Indeed!
maybe a “styling my dad” video in the future?
I did that for my dad before a wedding once haha
Such a good idea! I’m not sure he’d be up for it though haha
Need you to do a Maniere de Voir haul, their clothes would probably look great on you!
I have gotten into the high waisted look. Very nice
Another great video. All good choices. I think I would get some T shirts and shorts. Have a good day! ✌️
Thanks for watching!
Sometimes I just watch you because of your voice and to look your handsomeness. 🤫
Same here.
🙏
Ditto
Couldn’t have said it better myself
Great video, James.
Thank you mate!
Great way to start off sunday morning 😎
Hope you have a great day! 🙏
My personal style is the military-camp-gear-1960s Ivy League, handmade style, so I’ll be getting something along those lines.

No problem! If you want shorter length I would steer towards the Japanese brands. They tend to make stuff shorter in my experience!
505's rock!
Yes!!
I’m interested in the loopwheel shirt.
Another 🔥🔥🔥 video, James (pun intended, but hoping you never face that kind of heat)!
Haha, thanks very much mate!! 🙏
Very good video mate 👍
Can u make a video on fragrances
Great video, James! A quick question... what is the T Shirt you are wearing when narrating the video? Suits you and looks like a great quality piece
Thank you! It’s from Velva Sheen 👍
Where did you get the striped shirt you’re wearing in the video ?
Velva Sheen - got it off Vinted for £5!!
Who knew arsonism is a content gold mine ❤
I know right 🤣
I would always repurchase a high quality shearling flight jacket
That’s a good choice 👍
awesome video - was gonna ask if you have ever checked out Bronson MFG? they look like the do some solid basics at a good price.

Nice picks mate! I was tempted to put my Carhartt jacket in as well. I need to try some of those jeans!

I think they go well with blue jeans or green cargos 👍

kyon? taitoo haraam hai !?
Hey man, I’m good thanks! Yourself? Yeah I might do one in the future, thanks for the suggestion!

im 29 and i litterally never bought a belt in my life because of how good my dad's belts hand down turn out to be ahah
Haha - I’ve bought a few but I much prefer my dad’s old belts!
solovairs are more expensive and better quality than the docs
For the OG 107 pants, do you think a size small would fit me if I'm around 31-32 inch waist? I usually don't get size small for pants but it seems like the size guide runs large.
Hard to say. It might be worth buying both and sending one back. I would prefer them to be a bit too big than too small though
Fuck i truly clicked thinking you were involved in a fire QAQ
Affordable shoe + trainer I’ve found that’s high quality is Beckett Simonen
I’ll have to check them out, thanks!
Maybe you should bring in your dad for a video
Great idea.
Haha that would be funny as heck, might have to try and convince him!!
I'd buy a 3 pack of white Tshirts, dark selvedge jeans, grey sweatpants, an oversized camel shacket, a pair of cream slip on vans pop cush, a pale pink linen shirt and a plush, waterproofed winter coat.

Some solid choices there! Agree with you on brands
💛💛💛
❤❤❤
Why did you choose this path? See ya next week 😁
🤣🤣
Dr martens are not quality 😢
love every single video on your channel! whats the update on your lee denim jacket? has it started fading nicely?
Thank you! 🙏 not much fading yet, I still haven’t washed it. Not sure if I should?
@@JamesLeung you are welcome! don't wash them, would love to see those contrasty fades on them!
Yeah as a college student making 2k a month im ubsubbing.
