Myself and another Ham Radio Operator, with the Moree Scout Group camped up there at the Trig Point back in 2002 for JOTA. There was NO walk way just those rocks and we set up camp in the rocks, with the radio's, antenna's and generator. Below in Narrabri the temp was 42c and up there was 5c, an outing I will never forget but we had a great time.
Ahh that was a good morning! The arvo was a bit wet but we still got where we needed to :) It was funny that it was so much easier on the way down - I think fatigue the previous day was the cause as you said. a fun day, you left out the bit about Uranus 🤣😂
It would have been good if we'd had a bit more time up there to explore in the morning, but we made the right call in getting down before the weather hit. A return journey will have to be made! Yeah I didn't film the Uranus bit, just a photo! 🤣
I think the Motoz tyres are great in the dirt, I've had some issues on my Tuareg with the front losing air, but they are great in the mud. What wonderful views when the clouds let you see them! Shame the rain caught up with you, but at least you got to the town so you could get the waterproofs on in time! 🙂
I haven't had mine in much mud yet, nothing serious anyway. Yeah, mine loses air on the front tyre too! The views up there were awesome while they lasted and there were even goats bleating through the mist as well that I didn't capture on camera unfortunately. Yeah, we were hoping to stay dry a least until we stopped in town to put the wets on. Luckily we were only slightly damp.

Wow! That's pretty cool. What an experience! It certainly is amazing the difference in temperature a bit of elevation gives you.

@@MrAusadventure ahh that is a pain, does your bike have a 21" front or is it a 19"?
@@HippoDronesIt's a 19 on the Strom
@@MrAusadventure ahh, that is odd, I thought the losing air issue was mainly with 21" fronts
@@HippoDrones What can I say? I'm an odd person! 🤣
Still lives in the denial of that in his deepest desire he really whants a Suzuki 🤣🤣.
