Some of the 9/11 hijackers gave their lives for the sake of Islam thus killing thousands of innocent non-muslims; They used to drink alcohol and did many other non-islamic things. Just bcoz they did a few non-islamic things does not make them a non-muslim, since they are willing to die for Islam and kill for Islam.
Also, Maz's wife is an India, but he has not said that she is Hindu.
