I dunno if you’re a fan of Kart racers, but if you are, you should definitely give CTR Nitro Fueled a try. It’s more fast paced and skill based than Mario Kart imo
I thought I was good at racing games because I was boss at Mario Kart. Then I played CTR and discovered, quite violently, that this was in fact, false.
The reason that all the henchmen are the same is because they're literally made in a factory. Crash 3 is in many ways based off of Terminator and there's a secret warp room after you get enough relics that takes you to the Skynet inspired facility where you see the henchmen being suited with their skin and transported through time to each level
I am a little annoyed by just how many of the enemies are the various lab assistants in different outfits (the only medieval enemy that isn't a lab assistant is the goat, even the frogs are technically lab assistants) but at least they explain why with the secret warp room. I'm wondering if the abundance of Lab Assistants was a result of the original game short development span (it came out a year after the second, which itself was a year after the first) or if it was just an aesthetic choice.
@@mordauntdarkwizardThat is actually a pretty good artistic choice - you have a good in-universe explanation why the levels are full of enemies who try to kill you, unlike, for example, It's About Time, which has all the random unexplained enemies that don't fit well into the crash lore
Id have to replay them to see now but yea, Crash 3 was my fave growing up. The mechanics got more loose and fun, the animals are awesome, gaining abilities after each boss rocked, the timezones are all really varied and spicy. For me this was just the peak.
If anyone was wondering, the reason why all the henchmen are the same is because they are clones! If you go to the bonus levels you can see them being made in the background
The fact that nobody seems realize is that the charged bodyslam power you get after defeating tiny adds a shock wave to the bodyslam. This is probably beacuse you don't need to use the body slam before defeating Tiny.

Crash 3 was my favorite because it had the best visuals, music, and introduced my favorite character, Dingodile, to the franchise. Also, I was at Anime NYC last weekend and there was a Crash Cosplayer with a music box playing the theme from Crash Warped, and it made me so happy. I hope they went to visit Lex Lang (the voice of Cortex) while they were at the con.
@@notmuch8940 All of the levels in 2 were Jungle, riverside, tundra, temple ruins and a few labs toward the end. I have nothing against that template, but it's literally the exact same level formats from the first game. 3 had level designs based in the Time of Dinosaurs, Mideval Folklore, Arabia, Colonial Pirates, Ancient China, Ancient Egypt, World War 2, Contemporary Highways, a Dystopian Future, Boss Fights that took place during Ancient Rome and the Ice Age... THAT'S a large variety! I applaud the effort to change up the format, especially given these original games were made with only a years worth of development time. And if you unlock the secret room, they show how the Lab Assistants are actually cyborgs, made from the same exoskeleton, in an assembly line dressed in various gettups before the time twisting machine sends them to the different timelines. Crash 3 was def my fav to play growing up as a kid! Loved all the power ups after defeating each boss and really enjoyed playing it again when they released the N. Sane trilogy
Yeah, it feels like only half the levels in Crash 3 are actual platforming levels. I think they went a bit overboard with the vehicle/riding levels in 3. Unfortunately, Wrath of Cortex continued the trend with adding way too many vehicle levels.
17:05 that's a great idea. They should make the bazooka actually use the wumpa fruit you have. Like 10 wumpa per shot. That would be decent risk/reward. But when you make the bazooka cost-free it's just broken lmao
My favorite Crash game from the trilogy has to be the first one. I love the simplicity of it and although the bosses are lackluster, the challenging platforming makes up for it. Crash 3 is my least favorite because of the animal/vehicle levels.
crash 3 is my favorite until crash 4 it's about time came out But The coco animal and vehicle stages but most of them Are Okay Or Bad to me and If i Get frustrated Of Trying To Time Trial Those Stages I just Head Back To Crash 1 (ps1 since i don't have the n sane trilogy i also just use epsxe) Also Might Be Deleting This If I Regret Writing This comment
Warped used to be my favorite as a kid but as an adult I find that 2 is my favorite it has a perfect balance of platforming and vehicle levels. Especially the jetpack and jeboard levels they are fun and platforming is challenging.
I played through all of Crash 3 and I enjoyed it however some of the motorcycle riding levels I disliked so much. Plus completing the N.Sane trilogy is not an easy task, I died on crash 1 more times then I can probably count
Crash 3 is my favorite of the trilogy, probably mostly cuz of nostalgic bias, like I've been playing the shit out of this game since I was 7. Sure, I dislike the jetski levels, especially in the remake cuz making it realistic was the most fatal flaw and Coco riding a jetski in the pirate times isn't that interesting in my opinion and the underwater levels are not that good but I think the rest of the vehicle levels are rather fun, especially the plane levels. Sure, the time trials are mostly counterintuitive to the gameplay but I still love them, they are really interesting to me. The soundtrack isn't as good as Crash 2's but still pretty good. I love the new characters, especially Dingodile. The bosses, while still easy, are more climactic than the ones in the previous 2 games and I like every boss theme in this game which is not what I can say about the previous 2 games. This game also has way less backtracking and it's not painful or complex. The power ups are great, except for the super belly flop which is unnecessary since Crash could break steel boxes with just a regular belly flop in Crash 2. This game is even more beautiful than Crash 2 in terms of graphics and honestly as a whole, the negatives in this game are minor to me, it's a very hard game for me to fault. And as such, I'm debating on if Crash 3 or Crash 4 is my favorite. Edit: Crash 3 is still my favorite with 4 being a very close second cuz both games are staggeringly different in terms of difficulty.
At some point I'll watch your other Crash videos for sure, but I'm starting with this one since it came out yesterday! 5:30 I've played Sonic Colors for the first time (I've yet to finish it) on the Switch thanks to the remaster and overall I like it, but the one thing that I genuinely hate about it is how low the double jump is compared to platforms, I got stuck at various point for way too much time. 12:18 By the way, it would be cool to see you at least try CTR Nitro Fueled at some point! 17:24 That would be really nice... for PlayStation owners so sadly not me, but it would still pretty cool if it happened!
Hey Choc! In response to your question, the new Tomb Raider trilogy is great. TR 2013 has fantastic writing and an awesome map, but the gunplay and mechanics are a little dated. Then Rise and Shadow have a bit of a lapse in writing but still pretty good, and the mechanics get a massive upgrade.
That Double Jump used to be the only super power I would dream of as a kid. Every kid that played this game wanted to do that in real life. AND IT ACTUALLY IS POSSIBLE TO DOUBLE JUMP. but not like Crash. Never
I feel like the settings being more varied makes the settings feel more shallow. Like between Crash 1 and 2 we really get to know the Wujmpa Islands. Like just for the ruins there were three different types of levels, the outside ruins (The Lost City, Sunset Vista) the interior ruins (Temple Ruins, Jaws of Darkness) and the pillar tops (Road to Ruin, Ruination). In Crash 3, each settings only has one type of levels that each feel really similar to themselves, using most of the same assets and really only changing up the layouts, enemies, and lighting. Like in the Arabian Nights-esque levels we're only ever in a the city area. There aren't any level's taking place in a Sultan's palace, for instance, or any medieval levels that take place in a Robin Hood-Esque forest.
Noting down the end stats tally: Total deaths: 76 Total game overs: 0 Hm, so about 70 fewer deaths per game from 1 to 3. Looking at that, Crash might have become a lil' too easy as time went on. Makes me appreciate more how Crash 4 is that much harder.
