I have a 2003 Ford Ranger 3.0 liter V6.... this video was perfect! I ordered my radiator from 1A Auto and it was a great price and a perfect fit.... just like the video. I installed the new radiator in about an hour and a half... I was taking my time and making sure I did it right! Make sure you have a pretty deep bucket for when you drain the radiator... My first pan was a turkey roaster pan and it filled up.

Does any fluid come out of the transmission lines?
I don't want to mess with my tranny nor the fluid.
I just had the transmission rebuild and I don't want to interfere and risk anything.

Just to comment regarding that gap. My '01 explorer sport listed two compatible radiators...one with a 1 inch channel and another with a 2 inch channel (Advanced Auto Parts). The 1 inch channel left that inch gap at the top and bottom. The two inch channel was the correct radiator for my setup. Folks need to check their setup...as there are some shrouds with a one inch lip for the one inch channel radiators. No idea how much (if any) the one inch gap at the bottom/top impacts cooling...but it just looks really weird.

I had a mechanic pull my 2001 ranger 4.0 engine ot to replace the timing chains. When he reinstalled it I think he may have reversed my transmission cooler lines. My question is and I Im getting conflicting stories on the forums. What line out of the radiator is the return to the transmission. A lot of vehicles have the inlet at the bottom and the outlet at the top to prevent aerating and foaming. I just want to know for sure. Im already sure the inlet on the transmission is the top. Just dont know which one it comes from on the radiator? Please help. Thank you.

+Stephen Selph Thanks for watching! It sounds like you have a manual transmission. If this is the case then you do not need to do anything with those lines, just install the part as is and leave them alone! Unless stated otherwise on the listing, our radiators are built to fit auto and manual transmissions, so if you do not have lines for the auto transmission you do not need to do anything with them! If you have any other questions you can give us a call and talk with one of our customer service representatives! 1aauto.com, 888-844-3393
