Loved the video come across it by chance, definitely a insight into how the camera mirrors are etc definitely would love to see more bus type videos like this one of each different types etc but what a fantastic video!!
Pretty sure these will have the 280hp D8 dont think a 240hp version is offered on the B8, glad Arriva are going back to Volvo with then no longer working with VDL.
I watched this video on Saturday and then spotted one of these buses in Crosby yesterday (Sunday) and another one in Bootle today. I would never have noticed if it wasn't for watching this video :) :)
just looked then at the comments but they said deleted someone calles northern travel adventures comment also deleted they said hope you didnt attack anyone typing this? baffled
My bus used to have no wing mirrors but that was usually once I’d took them off on a lamppost or swung around and right through the doors! Good explanation about covering your ass,we all know what the powers that be be are like 😉 👍 only thing that’s missing is metros all over the floor, coke bottle rolling about and a greggs sausage roll rubbed into the seats…hahah
Those camera mirrors look good. Some of the buses and coaches I`ve driven have been plagued with horrendous blind spots caused by the external mirrors being too close to the bodywork meaning it was quite possible to "lose" a car or cyclist when pulling out from a junction. The nearer the screen pillar the worse it was. The more modern coaches with the extended arms were a lot better, but these camera ones look great. I did 40 years driving buses and coaches and since I retired 14 years ago, the vehicles have really improved, though we have lost most of the body and chassis makers I drove.
I'm not convinced that those cameras are safer than wing mirrors. Their not spaced as widely as physical mirrors. So surely it limits your peripheral vision. Call me old fashioned..

As a passenger standing on the platform, these camera mirrors appear to be much better than standard mirrors.
lutons ones look better
