wow freaking unbelievable . to be able to hear and see brian play this song live is awesome. listened to him play this a million times on the record and the cd . but to see how he plays this live is the bomb. brian is just a monster. a big bad ass monster. there is no one like him . he truly is the man.
One of my all time BA favorite tunes. Good to see him out playing. I saw him at He&She outside Buffalo, NY around '75 or so. My friend and I were at the bar and Brian sat down right next to us during a break. It was surreal; but awesome as well. Can't remember what we talked about, but he was very cool.
I've seen him many many times. Discovered him in about 1968. Never looked back. I play keyboards and he has been and always will be my fave. No one like him. He has been a fundamental influence on my playing style. I was chatting with him once between sets. Asked if he ever went out to see other musicians just to keep in touch with the scene. He told me now and then he would go to clubs in LA with a friend and sit in the back. He mentioned that I may have heard of this friend of his - Keith Emerson [R.I.P] ( Of course I knew who Keith was. Brian the ever Britsh understatement was speaking tongue-in-cheek I think) They were great Brit ex-pat friends. Sadly he has pretty much stuck to playing in Europe as of late, so don't get to see him in the States these days. But he has been a profound influence on my musical life, for which I am eternally grateful.
He had such a unique groove even the finest we’re incapable of replicating.Freedom Jazz Dance- Bump in on Sunset- The Oblivion Express Records - He’s done some incredible independent Lps. I agree with this Army 100% he could profit from a known Kick Ass Guitar Player like Michael Landau. He should be a leader on the Blue Note roster a Label appreciative of its Artist’s Ability. He’s been doing this a very long time deserves his just due.
