You are a "Lucky Man" 😮 Brian! One of the Best... Ever! "Beginning Again" Classic of the Classics!!! What a Exquisite Solos on Jazz - Rock History!!! 🍇🍷🍾🥂🥩☕🍸🎉😇🇲🇽😎
The intro to Happiness Is Just Around The Bend is just incredible. Hear it once and it’s burned into your memory. Not to mention the positive vibes conveyed by great lyrics.
As a 61 year old Englishman (from Peckham in S.E.London) Brian comes accross as a top top man...he was and still is a SERIOUSLY talented musician and a really lovely man...DONATING those keyboards to local music schools, the great music he produced with Julie Driscoll and the trinity(check out "season of the witch" live with Julie and the band) and then with Orbital Express...GREAT music,he asked Brian "what religion are you?" Brian's great answer "my religion is being kind to people" says it all! ,thanks, all the best, peace love and happiness to you all, from Piers a.k.a. Chopper.
In 2000 I had a studio in Los Angeles and our drummer said he was at the Baked Potato the night before and saw Brian play and it occurred to him that Brian would be great on the tune we were working on. So we called him and offered him $200 for one song. He said yes! We went to his place and loaded his silver sparkle B3 into his trailer and off to the studio we went. He was great, very gracious and played just what we had in our heads. He said he thought it was quite a catchy little tune. Thanks Brian!
Brian Auger opened for Lou Reed at the Stanley Theater in Pittsburgh in 75 or thereabouts. I was 15 too young to appreciate what I was lucky enough to be watching
I met Brian a few times after a concert with him that I had the pleasure to promote. Brian is such a nice, polite and gentle person and so open minded. I can't imagine that he refuses an interview or a personal talk. It's always a real pleasure to meet this real gentleman and legend and have a talk with him!

I met him at Moondogs in Blawnox,PA. I was sitting at the bar and said hey Brian and he touched my back and said Hi. Then we talked after his show. I didn't wash the hoodie I was wearing for a while to preserve his touch.😊
What? Do yourself a favour and check out his 60’s & 70’s stuff…. Brian Auger, Julie Driscoll & the trinity, especially the track ‘Indian rope man’….. Brian Auger’s oblivion express too…. 👍
I've never heard of him either, but Brian Freakin' Auger agreed to be interviewed by him, so this "Dr Mix" fella can't be all THAT bad... Just kidding Claudio...
@craigtidwell4005 That's a helpful perspective to hold and share. Thanks. It's nice to see a comment like yours without the typical overt negativity that often happens in ytube comments. One of my biggest Hammond heroes and a beautiful human being...thank you Claudio for this interview! What a wonderful exchange and insight into his early years! (Incidentally, I notice you were noticing at the carvings on his C-3...those are called Quatrefoils, and were present on the church-cabinet Hammond consoles starting with the prewar Model C and subsequent models up through the early years of the C-3 - 3 series production commenced January 1955 - until around November 1958 when they made the C-3 cabinet smooth sided for the remainder of its production life through 1975.)
This man was a very respected musician in London in the 60’s and ‘70’s and beyond. His band, The Trinity, performed in all the best clubs and he had many superb vocalists join him. He is most famous for partnering with a singer, Julie Driscoll, and they had a hit record with “Wheels on Fire”. I photographed Julie some years later, living in a small council flat in Notting Hill, London, the glory days long gone.
I sincerely hope Brian realizes how loved he is. I've been listening to his music since I was a teenager in the sixties. When I'm not sure what to play, Brian's music is my go to.....
I'm a B3 player and worked out Compared To What note for note when the album came out. When I was touring I had the same problem he did with volume and did basically the same thing except I had a hot rodded Leslie with JBL drivers and a Fender Dual Showman head. I was in Richmond Virginia in 1974 and he opened for Kiss at some small arena before they became huge. Our whole band went to see him and we felt so sorry for him because there were very few people there but I got to stand literally 6 feet from him. The small stage was only a foot high. As the Kiss crowd came in it became a total zoo and we left. This is the first interview I've seen, great stuff!
Saw him when he was on tour with Pete York in the late 80s. Two outstanding musicians on their own, but together they were a prime example of the sum being greater than the individuals, they had a fantastic chemistry between each other. Thankfully some of it has been captured on record.
This is the day I found out Brian has a Poly-800 and an M3 at home, which just happens to be exactly what I have in my living room right now. What a coinkidink! I love this conversation. Such good chemistry and fun stories. Had me tearing up at the end. Thank you for a great video! And I have to start practicing more of ”happiness = reality - expectations”!
I didn't know much about him but now that I see how he plays and the artists he worked with. This man is an international treasure, we must protect him.
I have loved this man for most of my life & this interview was probably the best I've ever heard or seen. Absolutely compelling, both musically & emotionally. That final speech left me in pieces. What a way to bow out. But best of all... he's still with us! (Happy 84th, Brai!) So thank whoever, whatever, however for that. LONG LIVE BRIAN AUGER!!
Had the pleasure to have met, hung out an even got to play on stage with him on a couple occasions many years ago. His optimistic, humorous personality has not changed one bit. The world is a better place, not only musical I might add, because of people like him.
My goodness Claudio Shivers, Smiles and Tears. Love this guy. Such a humble person. I have been schooled today! Learned so much. Thank you so so much! ❤👍🏾🙏🏾👏🏾
Ol' head here - back in the day I had a boyfriend who always played Brian Auger's Oblivion Express when he did 'shrooms. I never realized he wrote The Main Ingredients 'Just Around the Bend'. Lyrics were definitely trippy. I really appreciate this interview, reminds me of life's soundtracks.❤
I’ve been a solid fan for sixty years never knew he’d had such an accent, wow. Such an inspirational mind melt…listening to Wes’s cover “ Bumpin On The Sunset” at a beautiful sunset to Happiness is Just Around the Bend”, an upper. All of his recordings Often visited in my realm. This explains a lot… cool, Jimmy Smit…US Blues!
I felt you the second you told him " maybe I should mic you up" , definitely the beginning of an amazing trip to his incredible past, fantastic interview! Lets also say that he absolutely loved your energetic personality, it definitely reminded him of himself back in the good days:-)
This guy was an absolute staple in the London scene, particularly around the time Hendrix came into town with Chas Chandler. Brian gives a wonderful account of this period, great bloke.
bellissima intervista, Claudio! Aveva proprio ragione il suo chitarrista Jim Mullen quando ci disse che Brian era una gran persona oltre che un gran musicista!
What a fantastic video brimming over with musicality and humility. Only one thing was missing for me was just a small mention of Julie Driscoll because what Brian created with her spread his music much much further - one of the truly great collaborations of all time.
When he was on tour with Eric Burdon in Asheville a bunch of years ago I turned around and they were standing together during the opening band. Of course, I went over and talked with them for a few precious minutes. I won't forget it. What a great interview and story.
Ha I am speechless. "If you can be quiet enough, it's there already. Just listen to your heart". Great great interview Claudio. I am sure you felt the same way.
Street noise is one of my all time favorite albums. Myself, a 76 year year old ex-hippie that still loves our music. Thanks Mr Auger for sharing your gift, peace. 9:56
Thank you very much Claudio for this fantabulous interview with Master Brain Auger. He is so gracious, kind, funny and a legend. His instruments are collectors' item!!! I also love those plaques on the wall!!! At 84 years of age he is still very youthful and comic=)
Thank You for the interview Doc Mix. I saw Brian Auger live for the first time 50 years ago and the last time 8 years ago when I was able to talk to him after the concert. He is fantastic both as a musician and as a person. I hope we can see him live for a long time to come.
Ive not heard of Brian, but what a wonderful charismatic guy he is. Watched the entire interview and will now soak up his back catalogue. Thanks Claudio for sharing this.
Brian Auger rocks. He has just the right amount of Soul, Jazz and Blues in his playing. He is really on it when he plays. A true hammond hero and he has a great sense of humour!
I saw Brian Auger many times at the Shaboo Inn in Wilimantic. CT back in the 70's. What a great player and band! While learning to play bass, I put the entire Live Oblivion album on reel to reel tape and learned the bass parts to Straight Ahead, Freedom Jazz Dance, Compared to What, all that great stuff. Man what great memories. Then saw him again with the Search Party tour once again at Shaboo. Amazing! I learned so much from playing along with that album. Thank you Brian Auger!
Brian is one of my biggest heroes. I've had the great pleasure of meeting him and talking to him a few times over the last 20 years. It's hard to tell if his incredible musicianship or human kindness is more humbling. Thank you for this beautiful interview Claudio!
I saw Brian in Monterey, CA with Eric Burdon. I LOVE the Brian Auger & The Trinity album Befour. Got turned on to it in 1969 'n it remains an all time favorite. Listen to their version o' Pavane....
That was by FAR one of the most amazing interviews I’ve ever been honored to watch. Brian is a legend and you my friend must be on cloud 9 to have had that rich opportunity. I can’t wait to watch this again and again on the big screen! Thank you so much for opening up my vision to quality music experiences.
I have loved Mr. Auger since the late 60’s and it was a dream come true when I got to interview him back in the 70’s upon the release of his ‘Closer to It’ album. I still cherish meeting this music legend🎹❤️
Hey Dr mix,you are fantastic 😮thank you for this Brian auger interview .I have a lot of his records, the man is phenomenal. THANKS DR MIX. Ps try getting an interview with larry Dunn. Legend from earth, wind and fire .he is also half Italian.
Wow Claudio, what a great surprise this interview! Since the slap received at the release of Second Wind I am an absolute fan of Brian Auger. His music is part of me, my life, my soul. Thanks to you I was able to discover the guy, kindness, openness and simplicity, I love him all the more! Come on, I'm going to listen to Freedom Jazz Dance again for the 1500th time and take off like always on the solo... A thousand times thank you Claudio ✌️♥️
Outstanding interview!! Not many musicians of his stature are so immediately open with their lives. He looked like he totally enjoyed his time with you as you did with him. Now it's time to delve into his music and show us your take on it!!
What I appreciate about Brian is that he's self-taught. If you watch his performances, it becomes clear that he has put a lot of work towards his technique. I am self-taught too but, compared to Brian Auger, my skills are non-existent. Not only he tried to fuse jazz and rock for mainstream audience, he's a damn good singer too. Respect.
I was so happy to see your interview. I saw Brian and the Express in 1974 at Florida Institute of Technology and I was blown away. He was incredible! Thanks for jogging my memory...
I followed Brian from the 60's with his wonderful groups all over London when the music scene was tremendous with talent. What a player! This unique talent will never arrive again.
The sound that 73 makes is just astounding. I LOVE the sound of a Rhodes, but I don't think I've heard one that sounds that good. It sounds like it's going through the best Neve 80 series just by itself. What a sound!
What a beautiful and incredible interview. I've been a fan of Brian all my life. He has been a powerful force and influence in my own musical thinking and playing. Thank you so much Brian and thank you Claudio for posting this awesome interview. Cheers from Cincinnati, USA.
Great Interview. Big fan of Auger for almost 50 years.. I remember seeing him in a small club in Philly back in the 70's. Great to see him doing well at 84
Thanks for posting this interview. Brian Auger has a considerable reputation among musicians BUT deserves more recognition for his fantastic contribution to music and entertainment. Keith Emerson always said Brian is the most underrated Hammond/Keyboard player.
Musically Brian, you are right on and I have always loved what you do !! With the other, you are light years away. But you don't have to be. It is all right there waiting for you.
I met Brian Auger about six years ago at the Bake Potato potato in Los Angeles! His son was on drums, and they were fantastic. Mr. Auger was my childhood hero(along with Keith Emerson), he was as nice and personable as you see him here and I got to hang out and talk shit. Great time great and great concert!
Thank you Doctor Mix . Brian is really " Brillant " ! I often met him and his kind familly. The Zenith was with Alex Ligertwood who offered me a red wine , not in Glasgow but in a mythic club in Belgique. The engine of Brian just need water !
When I was probably 8 or 9 years old, I bought the 45 RPM single of "Save Me." The song was split between side A and side B, and Brian's solo started right from the B side. Since then, I believe I have bought all of Brian's LPs and later, all of his CDs... thank you for keeping me company for almost 60 years. I also had the opportunity to see Brian live in Italy, even with his family, and we talked (and drank) until late at night. Thank you, Claudio, for this wonderful gift! PS I was actually expecting hearing you speaking in italian 😄
Although I live in Phoenix Arizona... today the temp is 119!! I am a London boy born and bred (South London, Tooting) My grandfather in the 80s lived in Hammersmith where Brian was born (Don't know if he still lives there) Boy I can't believe you got this great interview together, Claudio! what a curve ball! You can turn your hand to anything... I was listening to Second Wind Oblivion Express just over the weekend sat outside in the Phoenix sun with a cigar and cognac... been following your channel for the last 5 years and you have become a great musical insperation to my Dr Mix! We dont always feel like making music as life can get in the way but I am understanding that we MUST make music in order for life too happen!! Thank you, Claudio for all you do and dont stop!! ❤
You are a "Lucky Man" 😮
Brian! One of the Best... Ever!

Love it! What an honour to be able to interview him in his home, surrounded by his keyboards!
Brian Auger opened for Lou Reed at the Stanley Theater in Pittsburgh in 75 or thereabouts. I was 15 too young to appreciate what I was lucky enough to be watching
From what I understood Brian Auger doesn't give interviews or public appearances very often, this video is a gift
Not true, I've interviewed and met Brian Auger many times, never had an issue. But you are right - this interview is a gift too
I met Brian a few times after a concert with him that I had the pleasure to promote. Brian is such a nice, polite and gentle person and so open minded. I can't imagine that he refuses an interview or a personal talk.
It's always a real pleasure to meet this real gentleman and legend and have a talk with him!
So wonderful . Going to show my piano teacher . He will be blown away. Thanks for sharing . Y.T. is so cool.
Love Brian Auger
Love the interview
Can’t wipe the smile off my face . Pure Magic .
Thanks for the music Mr Auger !
What a fantastic interview! The man is 84 years old and bright as a button, great to see…
He's 85 now.. ❤

@@schreineinAV TBH I don't like his music. Not saying he's not good, just that it's not my preference of style. Super nice man though.

I saw him once at a place called Shaboo, near UConn. What a show. It wasn’t enough. I have everything I believe he’s done
What a wonderful man. Really touched my heart. Thank you for doing this.
"Music Is Not A Competition, It's A Journey"✌
Both inspirational and wise words of wisdom, from the likes of the legendary Mr. Brian Auger💪
Brian is an absolute legend. Thanks for posting this very special interview. Thanks Brian for allowing the interview. 🙏

That Oblivion Express version of Freedom Jazz Dance gives me goose bumps. It's so cool to hear straight from the man himself. Nice work!!

This was amazing. Mr. Auger is such a kind and open person and obviously a master musician. Thanks Doc 👍
A real legend and a truly kind man!
Musically Brian, you are right on and I have always loved what you do !! With the other, you are light years away. But you don't have to be. It is all right there waiting for you.
Have always loved his playing and his music. One of the best!
What a beautiful interview! Thank you Claudio! Mr Auger is a hero - and it brings me joy to see that he’s such a wonderful human being as well.
wow, what a great film, just loved Brian Auger's stuff and feature him on my shows. superb!
Light on the Path was one of my first foray into fusion what a great musician.
PS I was actually expecting hearing you speaking in italian 😄
oui, le solo en face B , de ce fameux 45 T...magnifique
What a sweetheart
Brian's the best! ........music from head to toe! ....I remember that record store in Shepards Bush.
Well I've just discovered Brian Auger; thank you! What a great sound! And he's so humble!
