- Comparing the Japanese and English voices of DiZ.
Genzo Wakayama vs. Christopher Lee vs. Corey Burton.
No contest. The late, great Christopher Lee brings a charismatic majesty to the voice that cannot be matched by any other actor. I'm sure Wakayama sounds better to the Japanese, given that he's Sean Connery's frequent Japanese dub voice, but he just grates me. It sounds like there's a frog lodged in his throat. And Corey Burton, who is a truly great talent, had a great start in "Re:Chain of Memories", where his Christopher Lee impression was completely on point, but his output deteriorated with each subsequent performance, with the one in this video being his absolute worst, sounding less like Christopher Lee and more like a bored version of his Yen Sid voice.
It's not that any others are bad, it's just Christopher Lee is too awesome.
Chris lee was the perfect voice for ansem the wise.its nice that we have actors who can attempt the voice for a character.but there is always that one person who is locked to the character for instance chris voicing ansem
Corey Burton did the same for The Clone Wars series when Christopher Lee could not return to voice Count Dooku. He’s a great voice actor
Lee was so impressed with Burton he asked why Lucasfilms even meeded him for the Clone Wars movie when they had Burton's voice.
I appreciate at the least they used the original 358/2 recordings to complete Lee’s performance in KH2FM, it’s kinda neat we can hear both Lee and Burton’s take on this scene.
Did you know Christopher Lee plays Willy Wonka's Dad from Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?
I'd say Corey Burton did better in ReCom because he didn't have to copy a previous performance. 358/2 days 1.5 remix sounds like an imitation because that's exactly what it was. He had to copy every subtlety, every inflection as best he could. I'm not surprised he sounds stiffer. I'm amazed it sounds as close as it does. A true testament to his talent. He had a thankless job.
Still, it causes me great sadness to think the original 358/2 Days Lee recordings will now be lost to time because of this replacement. It's not Disney's fault, but it still sucks.
same with Wayne Allwine's performance in the original 358/2...it was his last performance as Mickey and it's lost to time.
@@romulusgloriosus Mickey didn't have any actual voice lines in the DS game though. Just grunts. Though what bothers me a bit for 358 cutscenes is that they didn't just reuse Lee's recordings since most of Diz scenes are reused
Ridiculous, a nobody can not feel anything
So they had to re record all his lines?
Somehow I only hear Count Dooku from Corey Burton but not from Lee. Odd
Genzo Wakayama. Japanese voice dub for Sean Connery. Whom voiced Draco in Dragonheart's Japanese dub.
Obviously Christopher Lee is the best of the three, Corey Burton isn't too shabby either.
Wait a minute!!!!!!!
THEY CHANGED LEE’S VOICE!!!!
DiZ and Auron are a couple of the ones I feel are hands down better in English.
Names would be nice. Dumb
