I really want to get a bottle of Hypnotic Poison EDT! I found a 150ml, sealed box, and the batch code says it was produced in 2018. I think I'll buy it because I heard that it was reformulated in 2020
So I ended up getting a lot! But I've only tried out a few so far. I got 3 of the new Guerlain extraits, including Iris Palida, Vanilla Planifolia and Tonka Sarrapia. I also got the new Feve Gourmand. (Was hoping to get Tobacco Honey too but no such luck.) I also got a full bottle of the new Shalimar Iris. Holy crap it was love at first sniff. So good!!! I'm. So glad I blind bought the full bottle!! ( I figured it was low risk based on the notes and reviews. And I love my Shalimar Tonka.) pGuerlain sent with 3 new samples from their Aqua Allegoria line. The Bosca Vanilla, Oud Yuzu and Rosa Palisandra. I've only tried the rose so far and it was unfortunately a scrubber for me. Way too old fashioned smelling with a sharp rose and VERY spicy background. Not a fan at all!! I also got a bunch of other decants including: Vanilla Barka by Amouage (wearing today and in love!!! 😍), Bianco Latte (also love), Ginger Biscuit by Jo Malone (love), Encens Suave by Matiere Parfums, Accident a la Vanille by Jousset, Glaze Ecstasy by Simone Andreli, Stronger with You Amber by Armani, Dama Bianca by Xerjoff, 724 by MFK, Pi by Givenchy (finally got from your recommendation! 😊), Donna Born in Roma Intense by Valentino, Burberry Goddess, Escapade Gourmand by Maison Mataha, Amore Kaffe by Mancera, Althair by Parfums de Marly, Mula Mula Double Caramel by Byron Parfums, Vanille De Zanzibar by Boucheron (really expensive!!) and Le Gout Du Parfum (A Taste of Angel) by Mugler. ( This was also really expensive, but I've tried it and already love it too!!) I also got travel sizes sprays of Black Opium Le Parfum, Alien Goddess Intense and a rebuy of Bee by Brooklyn Ellis. I find Bee so unique and intoxicating. And then lastly I got decants of a few perfumes I've had in the past and wanted again, including Bois Dòre by Van Cleef and Arpels (I find this so unique and gorgeous), Narciso Rouge, and Narciso Musc Noir Rose. So glad to have those again. Anyway, I feel blessed I get to try all of these. And every day feels like Christmas because I get to try a new perfume. (Oh I almost forgot that I got samples of Muglers Angel Elixir and Angel Iced Star. I've only tried the former so far, and I'll admit I had low expectations based on reviews (and the fact that it's really an Alien flanker - let's be real) but I surprisingly really like it! Super easy to wear woody jasmine vanilla. It does definitely remind me of Donna Born in Roma. I mean they both have the pink pepper, jasmine, bourbon vanilla and woods. So it's not a stretch. But it is a decent perfume, and one I think is certainly blind by friendly. Anyway, hope you had a great Christmas Arlene!! Thanks for sharing!! 😊

I wonder what you think of Insulo by Jeroboam? It smells like an old tin that used to hold chocolates, caramels and chocolate coated liquorice. It doesn't have that burnt toffee bitterness than you may think, it's as moreish as Hypnotic Poison, very unusual gourmand. I think you may really enjoy it as an alternative to HP.
Recently purchased a new bottle of Hypnotic Poison edt from the Dior website because I finished my other bottle. On me, it lasts all day with 2-3 sprays. 🙂
I always repurchase Dior Pure Poison and as long as they make it, I will keep purchasing it. I will also repurchase D&G Devotion, Jo Malone Vetiver & Golden Vanilla and Jo Malone Jasmine Sambac & Marigold when I've finished my current bottles.

SOTD Myrrh and Tonka on my neck with Tonka (Solinotes) on my arms and Poison Girl Unexpected on my wrists. Unexpected is the only Poison I own, i am not sure that HP is for me, I'm not really a marzipan person. I also got myself Raghba, travel of Nebras (comes in a plastic case about the size of a credit card!), Devotion (to learn how to love lactonic notes, my logic is that it's very resellable), a mini Infinite Sky, and Paradoxe because i really like Paradoxe despite the antihype. Do you remember when lush had a scrubby kinda clove bar soap? Back in around 2005? It was cinnamon cloves etc it was called Red Rooster!? It was yummy and helped exfoliate!!
Honestly, I did a test with lush's mists verses their perfume versions. I sprayed the perfumes on a strip and the mists on a strip (same scents) and initially there was no difference so I waited 24 hours when I checked them they were the exact same strength. I really think there is no difference.
I got Carolina Herrera Good Girl and Good Girl Blush (smaller bottles) for Christmas and I love them both!! I have been a little naughty with purchasing more fragrances the last few days, though. I bought Jean Paul Gaulthier Scandal Le Parfum (my rational was that Shoppers Drug Mart had a bonus points deal going on!! 😂). I think it would be worth hunting down an older bottle. If the person stored it well and you can get it for a decent price. I'm not sure 2018 would be old enough. Is that a year you've heard about?
@@e.starling141 As far as I know the previous formulation with the gold lettering and dark purplish colored bottle was available from 2015 through late 2018. That is why I’m looking out for one. I’m sure older bottles are better but I don’t think I’ll look for anything older or vintage.
A couple of years ago I bought at Macy’s a new reformulated version of Hypnotic Poison in lighter red bottle… What a great disappointment! There was no scent no lasting power at all. Maybe I got a defective bottle, but I don’t recommend a new version of Hypnotic Poison. Same happened with Dior Addict and Coco Mademoiselle Intense, Good Girl. All bottles were 1.7 oz. However, there are more chances to get old better performing versions if you buy 3.4 oz. Bottles. Good luck!
Yes!! Arden's Green Tea IS a great cheapie. Finding out that it was created by Francis Kurkdjian filled me with a lovely warm feeling of confidence in my own taste as I knew on first sniff that it was special. I recommend the shower gel too, also inexpensive and lovely in hot weather. For a more expensive but beautiful tea scent I enjoy The Yulong by Armani Prive, Qi Intensivo by Ormonde Jayne, Wulong Cha by Nishane, the long discontinued Rare Tea Collection range by Jo Malone (it should never have been continued, they were ALL glorious), Memoire de Daisen by Ella K. Gris Charnel by BDK and The Blanc by a French brand I found in La Foret in Tokyo-- infuriatingly the bottle has no clearly decipherable brand name so I don't want to take a guess here, although maybe it's Senteur de Beaute? Gorgeous pillow mist, cheap too! Happy new year!! Love your channel, I find you so charming. Hope your 2024 is a good one!
Yes, your older bottle was better; with more oil inside the edt, more compact. If you have just a few drops in it, you can do the test on the skin with both of them, and then look into the light. Big difference
The one that came to mind is Kilian Boys which has been discontinued, but it's rumoured to be re-released soon with the name Born To Be Unforgettable :)
Hi Arlene! Nice to catch up with you 🤓 We had a very different experience with Dom Rosa. It’s really strong - what I call a “neon” perfume because it radiates so much! My testing notes say “Opens pine and synthetic, woody and rose notes. Filled the room!” Oh well, hopefully someone else will love my decant. The perfume purchases in Nov/Dec for me: • Valentino Donna Born in Roma Pink PP. I really didn’t need this but it’s nice enough. Oh the name! 😂 • Mini bottle of Dior L’Or Essence (2023). I’m not usually a fan of the line but this one smelled nice on a test strip. Patiently waiting for it to arrive. • Trio sampler of a brand called Snif. Blind buy. They seem to be dupes of other scents? Or they’re just trying to be as popular as several other recent perfumes. Tart Deco reminds me of Lost Cherry, Sweet Ash is a BR540/Cloud style, and Golden Ticket is a nice unisex tea scent. Hugs and good wishes for you as we close out the year, friend! 🙌🏽
Picked up a tester bottle of Guerlain's L'Instant de Guerlain. I do kinda feel...it's a little bit different from a fresh bottle in the store so I am keen to go back and do some investigation. Otherwise it was my only pickup in December.

My scent of the day actually is a sample of the old Chloe Edp, (also have a bottle of Chloe L’eau but thats for summer) my scent of this christmas was Bonfire bash B&B and Replicas Coffee break and Z&V This is her/and him. 😁 Also used a lot of Delina who I like more in Whinter time 🤔
Oh, I was referring to other HP flankers, but they're discontinued unfortunately (HP Eau Sensuelle and HP Eau Secrete). I also really enjoy Dior Poison Girl EDT for high heat too :)

The new formulation of Hypnotic Poison EDT barely lasts on my skin. I was so disappointed with it's projection and longevity! 😞

I love hypnotic poison. I get coka-cola. Any recommendations for scents in this vibe?
The one that came to mind is Kilian Boys which has been discontinued, but it's rumoured to be re-released soon with the name Born To Be Unforgettable :)
Hi Arlene! Nice to catch up with you 🤓 We had a very different experience with Dom Rosa. It’s really strong - what I call a “neon” perfume because it radiates so much! My testing notes say “Opens pine and synthetic, woody and rose notes. Filled the room!” Oh well, hopefully someone else will love my decant.
The perfume purchases in Nov/Dec for me:
• Valentino Donna Born in Roma Pink PP. I really didn’t need this but it’s nice enough. Oh the name! 😂
• Mini bottle of Dior L’Or Essence (2023). I’m not usually a fan of the line but this one smelled nice on a test strip. Patiently waiting for it to arrive.
• Trio sampler of a brand called Snif. Blind buy. They seem to be dupes of other scents? Or they’re just trying to be as popular as several other recent perfumes. Tart Deco reminds me of Lost Cherry, Sweet Ash is a BR540/Cloud style, and Golden Ticket is a nice unisex tea scent.

Picked up a tester bottle of Guerlain's L'Instant de Guerlain. I do kinda feel...it's a little bit different from a fresh bottle in the store so I am keen to go back and do some investigation. Otherwise it was my only pickup in December.

It's the EDT...my fave version, although the EDP is gorgeous as well :)
My scent of the day actually is a sample of the old Chloe Edp, (also have a bottle of Chloe L’eau but thats for summer) my scent of this christmas was Bonfire bash B&B and Replicas Coffee break and Z&V This is her/and him. 😁 Also used a lot of Delina who I like more in Whinter time 🤔
By other flankers do you mean other Hypnotic Poison flankers or other Poison flankers? And which do you wear in the summer in high heat? Thank you! ☺️
Oh, I was referring to other HP flankers, but they're discontinued unfortunately (HP Eau Sensuelle and HP Eau Secrete). I also really enjoy Dior Poison Girl EDT for high heat too :)
