    I replaced the transmission dual linear solenoid pack. Problem solved. My 2004 Honda CRV with 147,500 miles shifts normal. Thank you for the video.

    Thank you so much for the detailed video. This cleared up the delay in shifting. Testing the solenoids with 12v power before you reinstall them is a must - there should be a clear, audible clicking sound, nothing "muddy" or "plugged up" sounding. Cleaning out the tiny filter cylinders as well as the valve body will help tremendously.

    I'm doing that procedure on my 2004 CRV. I appreciate these videos. I just have one comment. Before working under the hood, the first thing to do is disconnect the battery!

    Great video - nice and clear to see what needs to be done! I will have a go at this on my 2004 CR-V. I've done the triple fluid change already but not the solenoids. Thought it would be more difficult than this but it looks straightforward from your video. Got a hard shift from 1st to second and occasional delays in shifting further up the box, too, now. Good vehicle otherwise so I want to keep it going, although a new transmission would probably be more than it is worth so hoping this will do the trick. Thanks for posting this.

      Did it work?

    • @MapleMarmite
      @MapleMarmite 5 лет назад +2

      Unfortunately it didn't work on mine. It came apart easy enough and I was able to reuse the same gasket but she still does the hard shift 1st to 2nd. I have got a set of used solenoids from a CRV that was junked because of rust - it ran and shifted fine so I'm hoping that might fix it. Otherwise it's a transmission and I don't think I can justify the expense on this rig. Shame because it's not too rusty for an East Coast Canada car.

      @John Doe same, the seal was stuck on both solenoid and transmission. Took me a while to clean it up. Its shifting way better. I only replaced the top one since it was such a hassle to clean it.

    Many thanks for this info. My specific issue: Was getting P0750 and P0780 when scanned. When warm there was occasional hard shift to 2nd and it wouldn't always shift to lower gears when you step on it. Cold start and reverse worked, but drive would delay with hard shift then the drive light would flash constantly and each subsequent shit would be hard. A switch off and start again would correct that. It hasn't been 2 days yet but the instant performance boost in shifting was seen after cleaning up. No more DTCs either. Only issue is I had to reuse my gaskets as I couldn't find replacement ones online. Many, many thanks!

    So if you’re watching this video number one do this at your own risk. Most of you are here because someone before didn’t change their transmission fluid on time. For those of you doing this or attempting to do this you could just change the fluid and drive around for 500 - 1000 miles and change the fluid again until it’s clean. Save you some time. This is last attempt and if you do this and it ain’t right, it’s cause you didn’t do it right. I wish you luck and gods speed.

      I have 04 Element. Super hard 1-2 shift. Found vids about dual solenoid. Changed it today (OEM) and now 1-2 shift like butter. But! 3-4 started to shift harsh/slip/hesitate, and harsh slow downshift into 1st gear. Going to try solenoid on top tranny and see what happens.

    My HONDA CRV 2002 sport started thumping into the gears change & eventually it began slipping & now it won’t engage into 1st gear : I am trying the LUCAS transmission slip fix fluid & so far I have had minimal success : & when in drive it goes ok under 2000 RPMs : I also have the D light blinking at times : still testing now so I’ll keep this post updated if anymore success or fixing from the Lucas fluid :

    I have a honda accord 7th gen 2.4L automatic i have problem from shifting 1 to 2 , i think it is this dual linear solenoid as it only shifts from 1 to 2 if i only let off the throttle but it shifts perfectly when it shifts to 3 4 5
    So i have a doubt that will the solenoids of 8th gen 2.4L accord will work on the 7th gen 2.4L.
    Can anyone help me by seeing whether the 8th gen accord solenoid will work on 7th gen accord 2.4L
    Note: the part numbers of 8th gen and 7th accord Solenoids are different but they appear the same
