love seeing ches literally just chilling in the sidelines
*how did Hassan ran 53 on his 12th rep.. he didn’t even look that tired, 10k runner w some serious speed!! Hopefully sub 27 soon*
Vibes do you know how fast you have to run per 400m to go sub27?
65s laps
If he can’t run 60s laps like it’s a jog then he has no chance.
Chan Bros thanks captain obvious 🙏
Vibes you asked I answered.
Chan Bros I didn’t ask anything lol
Alex Stolz he's not running sub 27 anytime... dumbass
Such a good group of guys and that coach is something special. He really brings out the best out of all of them! Love watching videos on them! Keep them coming Flotrack!
please more videos of long workouts like this please!!!
Hassan... What an athlete. Helping Casey up at the end, too. Showed no sign of weakness or stress. Strength and strength only.
Wow, that looked seriously tough!!
Amazing!
0:00 that shot looks so beautiful
yeah Sedona is amazing, the red rocks and whole landscape just stunning.
Dont get too caught up in distance, times and no of reps...just really do...
Pace..harder pace...hit it! Over n over
Great workout but I don’t really understand the point of switching shoes between sets?
I love Sedona especially the skatepark
bravo a tous
Luke Matthews is literally me every short rest workout lol
ha ha, yeah me too
He’s more an 800 guy
Wow!
SMOOTH SMOOTH EASY... good form relax.... RELAX EASY NO GAS, good job guys, StAy TiGHt

9:37
When bae comes to the track😂
This is at altitude too isn’t it!?
Sick stuff
One day I might be able to do 72, 70, 68. :(
wardm4 that's slow...if you can't do it now, you never will...
Haha. Okay, troll. That might not be an elite workout, but it's not slow. I live in CT, and those times, according to Hanson's calculator, would have won you the High School men's 1600m for the state. That's hardly slow.
wardm4 you must suck as a runner... stick with walking douchebag
F R you are a cretin
wardm4 I agree that its not that slow but the evidence for that pace winning the 1600 states goes against you because if a high schooler can ran that 4 times in a row with no brake then doing it with a minute-2 minutes break in between is actually slow. However I agree that the pace is hard to hit multiple times for the average person.
I live here...
👏👏👏
whoa
There's Ches at 3:35
Damn, you have good eyes, its my third time watching this video and the first time I notice, this guy is training in the whole country
must have been filmed ages ago as Luke is injured atm
Hassan mead could drop a set 5 all sub 60... 2% body fat .. the mans a stud
Why did Ches skip this workout? Is his calf still bothering him?
This workout was still before the Prefontaine Classic. I saw him more recently (the last day of NCAA's) in Eugene and he was in a boot and crutches. I asked him what happened, and he told me he hurt it at Pre. I can only speculate, but my guess is his calf/soleus/Achilles was still banged up at the time of this workout and he hurt it pretty bad going after a fast 2 mile. I hope he's smart with it and doesn't jump in some late summer track meets before it's fully healed.
what shoes
are the blue nikes?
does anyone know who the coach is??
Flats & spikes in shoe bag & matchy-matchy = attention to detail
Why do I know everybody’s name just from looking at the thumbnail
Why do the times go 62,60,58 rather than 60,60,60 or 58,60,62?
E4zyp34zyl3m0nsq33ZY to learn how to use more effort as the race goes on and how to get faster as the race progressive?
Bullmoose1433 thank you
They are called cut-downs, slower to faster, last one feels like a race effort.
It’s called Warm in to them
Cutting down is generally going to be a better workout, because it's harder and is a better simulation of a race, which is often run in a negative split (or at the very least, with a fast last lap...for example, the 1500 world record opened with a 53 and closed with a 54, with two 55s in the middle).
👍
Also how do you know how many sets like this to do, i.e why 4?
E4zyp34zyl3m0nsq33ZY 4 sets keeps the workout in even intervals of rest, so they have enough rest to do the workout and they don’t fall of their paces from fatigue
Parker Jones I'm not sure I follow, I think understand why the rest would be need to follow a uniform pattern but not why they need an even number of sets/rest intervals? I'm wondering how they decide how much volume to do in the work out, what thats based on. Is it an individual marker that they know based on their ability, or is it supposed to be a percentage of the event distance, or something else?
E4zyp34zyl3m0nsq33ZY I believe it is a mixture of both. This workout is probably one hey have done before as well, but since it seems that they weren’t in peak shape when this was made, they may have based the reps based on a certain mileage they are running per week. They make the amount of reps in a set the same so it’s easier to control/increase the intensity of the workout (by speeding up on the last reps, that way they aren’t running to slow due to exhaustion)
Parker Jones I was thinking about it more and maybe it could also be that 4x3reps is 12 laps which is pretty much the same as a 5k race distance.
They spikes???
Does anybody know?
PD: excuse me, I don't speak english.
53 sec god damn
Why is Mead without a sponsor?
I have followed Mead throughout South High school in Mpls and D1 UofM. I've seen him represent the United States in the last Olympics on the 5KM.
0:06 he's with Oregon track club, why not a bigger sponsor idk
Zach C he is sponsored by Nike lol. The Oregon track club is just his group & has nothing to do with his sponsor. What bigger sponsor would he have than nike?
3:24 anybody know what shoes those are being laced up
Nike streak lt 4 are the shoes and nike victory 3 are the spikes
matija rizmal thanks!
7:52 KingChes cameo
i d be dead on the first 400😆😆 let alone do 12 of em with 1 min and 4 min rest 😆😆 absolutely unreal.
Daily I jogging 10k reaching 62 minutes.. Its slow? My weight 85kgs
an. nisar slow fuck
Pace is relative, if its fast for you, its fast!
I can't even run a 10k so that's really good!
Looks more than 400m double this track.
What’s the purpose of this workout? Please.
Pablo Aimar I think to develop muscle speed endurance
MercuryLied _ thanks. Much appreciated
Resistance
Speed Endurance and Strength!
To improve your fitness
isn't like from aus
this workout is ridiculous my god
Hassan was sand bagging the whole time!
AirbusBaby he was on the pace that was asked
58.62 s average across all 12 reps
AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE
Jackson Tierney
USA! USA! USA! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸.
The pace is designed to make one tempo...62...seem like pace so surges in races are practiced here.
Wish i had an every day coach in early 1980s....
Two friends wanted to do 4 times 400m w longer rest..
First 3 were 60 to 60.9
I said ok..u 2 just dont worry bout me...i am feeling it.
After 200m they had big lead but i saw them trying to fight each other off....then my racing instincts took over and before I knew it i came flying off last turn n nailed them in 56.
That was only 4.
But big diff was it was in October w zero track of fartlek for months....just a whim.
One guy had US 5k record of 13:19 while 3rd yr med school.
Other guy had run 3:42 w a 54sec last lap....but still this was not speed phase...just lazy mile phase.
World record is 3:43:13 fyi
@@bradalan7188 Clearly a 1500m time
@@iooooooo1 1600m
@@bradalan7188 I mean the 3:42
Why are they changing their spikes between sets? Lol
Tom Brady #GOAT The two nike guys had on flats for the first set and then switched to spikes for the last three. Probably wanted to ease into the workout and didn’t feel the need for spikes as they were trying to hold back. Pat Casey (the one under armour) stuck with spikes the whole time however.
Kung Fury thanks
I did the same two weeks ago but i did 6x400 under a minute :(
are they pro runners ?
Believe it or not once I did 400 meters in 31.27seconds
Slow some kid did it in 25.7 and he's only 8
SuperDano007 that ain’t even the World record you liar
More like 180 m cuz that 400 is better than world record and i wont even grant you a slow 200m time so it was 180 m but your bike was in good shape!
SuperDano007 you shut the fuck up
When the hell do distance runners stop in between reps and take rests (sitting down), a light jog or a steady recovery pace run. I am confused well I guess this is why less and less will be broken down the road. I am so confused, is there new sports science research about heart rates dropping for better cardiovascular workouts???
Lol Hassan must be so annoying to train with low key. He does that shit where he runs up next to you at the end of every rep. Also, Coach Has said 58 would be cool on the last rep and they all ran way faster. So either they all ran way faster than necessary, or the coach didn’t know their fitness.
Luke Phillips Nit pickin much, yes? Feels like you'd be low key butthurt if these normal training dynamics upset you so much 😉
What would be annoying is training with someone as pedantic as you.
Luke Phillips
Oh what a low self esteem and cry baby you are. Butt hurt is alright to call you. Taking cheap jabs on the success of others.
Dendra7 this doesn’t even make sense lol
Tummun thx babe
5:44 the girls are trying to seduce in the middle of the workout..
the guys: naahh not buying it.
Wow!
