“Keeping the effort low” as they do 8 miles at 5:17 pace at altitude
eufronio I’ve been running at Buffalo several times a week for some elevation training, and I’m telling you right now, that hill is one of the hardest hills I’ve ever run. Buffalo is a fast place to run, so your moving really fast. Then the hill hits and it looks short so you don’t change yourself speed at all, then you can’t get air because of the elevation.
Silas Willoughby why you comment that so much
KaoticSuper my phone was spazzing out when I tried to comment it haha
That’s a TOUGH tempo for me at sea level 😂
welcome to the #1-3 team in the country.
Lmao. NAU just recruits the goofiest/chillest dudes who all just happen to be fast af.
Fr they seem like they have thr soundest guys in ncaas
probably because of the altitude?
This quote defines a cross country race perfectly: “If you could just feel like crap that would be great”
“Teams are dreading the distance from 8k to 10k. That’s actually our office. That’s where your desk and your chair is. That’s where you go to work.”
yeah we have ears, we heard him.
I'm sorry but that was hilarious😂
It’s about time they did a NAU video
That little hill on the loop is the most underrated hill in Distance Running lol

How interesting !!)!!$!
Good Coaching
Aye shout out to Caleb Easton. What a legend :)
What a beautiful place to run though
I've always thought that a threshold run was where you stay in aerobic but are right up to the point of going anaerobic. What is aerobic threshold and what is anaerobic threshold? What is the difference between the two?
I know that one dislike came from BYU
Go Cougs!
i think that one championship came from them to
That coach is a fucking badass. God what a guy.
What’s this epic theme music during the workout?
But are they as fast as me when I turn off the lights😯
where is the Farmington High work out Wednesday
what song/instrumental is that playing at 3:26? does anyone know its bad ass
All this did was make me think of Soren Knudsen :(((( #itslaundrytime

1:08 goose look-alike spotted
Peep that McDonalds Visor on Geordie Beamish XD
Go Lumberjacks!!!
Could you please do a video on Boise State? They’ve brought in quite a few really good XC runners from Britain for this season
Random Guy Sure, random guy who has no affiliation with Boise State
They should do workout videos for BYU sense Conner Mantz
is a beast
so is this basically a steady state run
Exactly. According to the McMillan Running Calculator, their 5:17/mile average for this 8 mile workout is in the center of a “Steady State” range for a 30 minute 10k athlete.
Edit: they started out at 5:30/mile or so for the first loop and like Nick Holyfield said below they’re at altitude. Their 5:17/mile is on the faster end of a Steady State Run pace range for a 31:00 10k. They’re still in terrific shape.
Yes, but they are also at altitude
Basically yeah.
Aerobic Threshold is roughly marathon pace,(Daniels M pace)
Must Rästas I’m not disagreeing with you per se but what do you mean?
what kind of accent does mike smith have?
If steak could talk
Dude my high school coach name was Mike Smith..like wth is this 🤣
He said he was from Massachusetts once, someone he coached at Georgetown thought Louisiana? He's like Tommy Wiseau, we may never really find out.
@@mattp.4329 yeah he is from Massachusetts and he used to run at my current high school I go to. The best part about that is, Mike's coach was my current coach!!!
Mike Smith dresses like Jay-Z
You're gonna become a cactus dude! haha
LMAO WHO WAS THE DUDE WHO SAID "HE NEEDS A MEDKIT"
Cactus man!
Bruh flo track im still waiting for thst top 10 performances at the aau jos
Ran with one of these dudes in middle school
Anyone know the name of the track that begins at 4:24?

@@rachelfinn8435 I meant the name of the song haha.
Fast AF @ 7000’
5 min pace for 8 miles in 7000 altitude! What the fuck? God damn!
What happened to Brody Hasty?

He has short hair now
Oh ok lol

Cactus Man

Sour patch kids
Jack watch out for killer cactus
Its crazy how much of a difference the elevation makes. Thats a normal college workout but not at elevation it isn't haha.
How do they all wear different things
Welcome Nico Young
What’s sub threshold mean
GamingWings just below max effort
No idiot
🌹🥇
come to SNHU cross country
Coach sounds like Anthony Jeselnik
Wow second time I've seen Drew Bosley not finish first at something.
what times do you have to run do run for nau xc?

Most of these guys had a high school 5k pr somewhere of 15:15 or faster.

cactus man
luis slow asl
anyone else find the coach a bit awkward?
It's too bad they're sponsored by Adidas, they don't even make cross country shoes
They do tho
thats the most demotivating pre-workout speech ever!!!
You need a motivational speech before every threshold workout?
@@scottcook9749 When did i say i need a motivational speech before every threshold workout?
@@ChickenNoodle883 lol by saying that his speech was demotivating you're suggesting you need a motivational speech before a workout
@@scottcook9749 No it doesn't. His speech was demotivating to the runners is what I said. He could have been motivating, demotivating, or neutral and anywhere in between. If you are as demotivating as this guy, just give or have someone give the instructions and that's it.
@@ChickenNoodle883 This guy? You mean the guy that coached his team to a XC Championship last year? Or how about Mark Wetmore? Known for being against big "motivational" speeches.
Sit down before you hurt yourself, these coaches know what they're doing.
Does this coach get excited? He seams too laid back for what I would need.
