    Quick note, those adjusters on the reservoir are for high and low speed compression, not rebound. Rebound would have to be adjusted internal via different shim stacks.

    I have a 2017 Trd pro and recently installed some volk te37 x 16x8 with -0 offset on 285/75/16 and when I left the shop and turned all the way I was surprised and upset that it rubbed on the front part of the inside wheel well a little.
    The shop told me to do a cheap lift kit on my fox suspension and that didn't sit well with me, so I ended up cutting a small piece on the front part of my front bumper and so far so good except I haven't tried it off road and I'm not too sure it wont hit or rub.
    My goal was to keep my trd pro suspension un touched, but now I am thinking about upgrading to some fox shocks like these instead of kings to keep it with fox, plus I don't like the blue color on them as much. These look clean.
    My goal was to keep it functional.
    Do you think these will do my truck justice or is it worth going to the long travel set up? Or will these work without any worries or cab mount crop?
    Thanks!

      Hello TRD_AJ
      I do not know the answer to that questions. You must take into consider the vehicle weight, whether you have a bumper on the front and how high you would like the lift to be.

      This suspension can give you 1" - 3" of lift, I decided to keep it at 2.50" of lift to accommodate for both up travel and down travel. The suspension limit height is 3".

    Been thinking of getting Kings suspension with a reservoir. What type of hydraulic fluid does it take ? Do you have to flush and replenish every so often ? How often do you refill it and how often do you empty it out to put clean fluid ??

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  4 года назад

      Hello Sam Dequina.
      Usually people send their shocks out to be "rebuild" by an off road shop. You can do it yourself with the hydraulic fluid and the ability to charge them with nitrogen. It all depends on the level of use; if you offload often you might have to rebuild your shocks in 30K miles. If you drive on the street you might never rebuild them or every 70k miles. It's a very open ended questions.

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  5 лет назад

      Hello 5JSG.
      The Fox 2.5 are the most versatile when it comes to ride comfort. I would say they're definitely softer and smoother, the DSC allows you to fine tune your suspension to your needs. It's nice to be able to tighten your suspension on the freeway and tune it to absorb bumps off road on logging trails. It's definitely a great suspension. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  5 лет назад +1

      Hello Abelmosqueda08.
      The Fox suspension completely replaced the OEM suspension (upper control arms, front coil over, rear shock and rear leaf pack. The leveling kit will be removed along with the stock coil over, you do not place the leveling kit above the coil over. These coil overs are extended travel so they're longer than the stock shock and bigger in diameter. Let me know if you have any other questions.

      You will need to order the front and rear shocks, front shocks come with the relocation spacer bracket. The leaf pack comes by itself only, order the leaf pack bushings, u bolts and the arb drive line spacer separately. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  6 лет назад +2

      Hello Travis.
      I researched for 7 months before I decided to buy a suspension. There is information on TacomaWorld but a lot of the information is "personal preference" which I do not like. I called the Manufacture (Fox) and got all the instructions on how to install. I ordered my kit from a company in Las Vegas, but I do not suggest you order from them as they did not include some hardware and the spanner wrench. Order from Headstrong, they seem to be a reliable company to order from. You have to realize that these suspension are highly customizable and do not come with the support you would get from Toyota. Be careful when installing as I ran into several problems during my install, aka wrong hardware, missing tools and being by myself. I'll be doing update videos on my suspension as there is NO INFORMATION on it and long term reviews.

    • @travisgood1720
      @travisgood1720 6 лет назад

      Right on, going with headstrong seems like the way to go from when ive talked to them. They seem like cheapest and most complete kits and they're very helpful. I was a mechanic for quite a while so not too worried about the install but definitely going to be verifying i have anything before tearing into it. Look forward to seeing the updates as your right there's no information besides a few videos that are just like bam just got this installed, i know nothing about it lol

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  6 лет назад

      Hello Travis.
      All together my suspension cost $3600 with no sales tax (WA State is 10.5%) and free shipping. If I could do it all over again, I'd order from Headstrong. Make sure to measure the preload correctly (how much of a lift you want), I didn't and had to take both coilers off twice to have them adjusted.

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  6 лет назад

      Hello Zack.
      Current Tire Set Up: Falken WildPeak AT AW3 285/75/16. These tires are great in all conditions that I've put them in and do not affected the mpg as much as a mud tire. When you say "possible going to a smaller tire" what do you mean by that? Are you referring to the width of the tire or height? Are you trying to get better gas mileage by switching to another tire. If that is why, then I suggest going with a 265/75/16 then you'll have a tire with less width therefore less drag on the road.
      Please watch my other video which shows my current suspension, wheels and tires. ruclips.net/video/yDyfS4v5hdY/видео.html

    Did you adjust your preload yourself? Also, do you know the final thread count on the coilovers after they’ve settled? We essentially have the same kit and I’d like to just set the preload and leave it.

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  5 лет назад

      Hello Kaleb Anderson.
      If you haven't bought your suspension yet have Fox adjust the preload or have a off road shop adjust the preload. You'll need a spring compressor or you can adjust them while they're on the truck. I had my friend at the dealer adjust my shocks original, then I adjusted them four times after that after putting them on the truck. You'll need a spanner wrench if you do this and you'll need to jack the vehicle up (taking the weight off of the front suspension. I would highly recommend having a shop do the adjust me.
      Fox Suspension Tech: DO NOT COUNT THE TREADS
      I called Fox support and they told me to adjust it to 1.75 inch of threads showing. Any more preload with a 600 lb spring will cause the coil over to bind with the upper control arm.
      All and all, set the preload to 1.75 of thread show to 2.00 inch of thread. Have a shop do it and save yourself from the headache like I had to go through. It took me 3 weeks to do the final set up with the corrections, learn from my mistake. Make sure everything is torque down. I'd get a .25 inch spacer to put above the drive side coil over as well, (corrects for tacoma lean).
      Adjustment Process:
      1. Compress the spring in a spring compressor
      2. Loosen collar of the spring ring
      3. Adjust it down till it shows 1.75 inches of thread showing (1.75 - 2.00) of thread is good
      4. Tighten collar
      5. You're done

      Stryker of Seattle Thanks for the detailed response! I’ll follow your instructions. Very excited to get the kit on this weekend. Seems the only difference between our setups is our UCAs. I went with light racing ball joint arms because I was worried about uniball joints wearing and making noise over time. How are yours holding up so far? They certainly win in the looks department over the light racing arms.

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  5 лет назад

      Hello Kaleb.
      The Uniballs on the Total Chaos Upper Control ares look like the day I installed them. I clean and grease them after every off road trip. This way they will last longer because installing/unistalling the upper control arms is difficult to do. My buddy has replaced his twice and they continuous make noise. He also takes his FJ off roading everyday so he uses the upper control constantly.

    • @grindiousmaximus
      @grindiousmaximus 5 лет назад

      Stryker Seattle adjusting to 1.75”-2” of thread nets how much total lift? They say that these shocks are adjustable to 3”. I’m trying to get as close to 3” as I can. What happened to the 2.75” you were trying to achieve?

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  5 лет назад

      Hello @@grindiousmaximus.
      If you adjust the suspension to 1.75-2.00 of thread showing, you'll have 2.65 - 2.75 inch of lift. It depends on whether or not you have a front bumper, winch or battery cages under the hood. Every truck is different but if you do not plan on putting weight on the front of the truck you should have 2.75 inch of lift. If you do not then you can adjust the preload again. I'm going to upload a video explaining this process so that everyone understands what I'm talking about.

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  5 лет назад

      Hello Kyle BLUNT.
      Any aftermarket modification can void your warranty, and it's at the dealership discretion to decide. The best option would be to call up your local dealership service manager, make sure it's a manager. Get it in writing that your warranty won't be void, that's what I did. If you're worried about a warranty, you can always have the dealership install the UCA. What UCA are you looking to install?

      Gold Knob (low speed) - This should be towards the middle (between + and -), and do small adjustment as you feel necessary.
      Blue Knob (high speed) - You'll want to twist the knob all the way to the + symbol as if you are driving on the street you want it to absorb all bumps quickly.

      I ordered my kit from a third party and not from Fox, this third party must of take a few things out of my kit to use for themselves. When you order the front coil over's Fox will include a sway relocation kit (it's like a block that moves your sway bar forward). Again this will be included in the kit if someone has not taken it out. Please be sure to order a .25 inch spacer for the driver side coil over, you can order a generic one off of eBay. This helps with drivers side lean.

      Hello Danny Reyes.
      I ordered all of my parts from Moore Racing in Las Vegas, NV. If you do not want to pay Sales Tax, order from any off road shop that not located in your state. The only problem is that the government has put need rules in place to stop people from not paying sales tax, for example Amazon and eBay now. I would contact Moore and see what they can do for you or another off-road supplier. Just asked them about shipping and tax when you call, all the part numbers are located in the description so they'll know what you need. Let me know if you have any other questions.

      Hello Ledor.
      Paid cash for my truck originally so it took me a year to save up for the suspension. The installation videos will be very informative, videos are better than pictures on TacomaWorld. Thanks for the support.

      Stryker of Seattle was the price including TC UCA? Or just the fox 2.5?

    Dude, TC UCA’s are NOT worth the money... I had them and absolutely hated them

      What did you replace them with and what were your issues with them if you don't mind me asking?

      The Pentz Project
      Constant squeaking from the bushings that was impossible to get rid of. The exposed uniball made is an absolute pain in the ass. Way too much maintenance for the uniballs. I just didn’t like the maintenance required, I’d much rather go with the icons. That’s what I plan to go with when I lift my 2020 taco 🌮

      Hello@@goodtimesrkillinme1
      That makes perfect sense. I uninstalled my suspension 4,000 miles after installing due to damages to my truck. Basically the dealership won't touch my truck until it was removed. I'm glad I did not have to deal with the squeaky uniball issue. If I upgrade my suspension on my new truck, I'll go with enclosed uniball design. Thank you for commenting.

      They also caused my Spindle to snap... I forgot to mention that. You also cant adjust the caster to get the alignment back closer to stock.

      Hello @@goodtimesrkillinme1
      Thank for letting me know about the damage to your spindle. Luckily I removed them within 2000 miles, and I'll definitely be looking at a different UCA.

    Do not paint the leaf pack unless you like to hear constant squeaky annoying sounds.

      Hello Mike Schoolcraft.
      I painted my leaf pack and haven't heard any squeaky yet; but thank you for the warning for people that might paint their leaf packs. My stock leaf pack squeaked after 10,000 miles on the truck, and it was not painted.

    Why did you go with the fox shocks? I’m having trouble choosing between fox and icon just wondering what you thought .

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  5 лет назад

      Hello Brandon Smith.
      I choose Fox because I've always had Fox on my mountain bike and other off road equipment, they're dependable and can rebuild your shocks for you if you want them too. Also, when something breaks you'll always have access to parts you need from Fox. The difference between Icon and Fox is that Icon are degressive and Fox's are progressive. That means that Icon will feel "mussy and loose" at low speeds then tighten up on the highway. The Fox DSC suspension allows for adjustability on the fly, meaning you can turn the gold and blue knot to set your suspension to where you like it. Most shocks do not offer this.

    the threads on that shock body are damage. probably wont neeed to go that low but still annoying.

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  6 лет назад

      Hello AXSB.
      I didn't mention that in the video because I did not want to say anything negative about the shocks. I'm grateful that I have friends that can have their dealership adjust them for me, but they scuffed them badly when they put them into the coil compressor. All in all, I will not adjust them that low as you mentioned but yes it's very annoying.

      I'll go ahead and send them to you if you'd like. Some people really like stickers; but I'm not a fan of them since my truck isn't a SEMA build.

      Hello Jimmy.
      As for now, I do not have a Instagram dedicated to my Toyota Tacoma. I might create one this week so people can follow my build. I do have a personal account, but I will not be posting pictures of the truck. I'll let you know when that account is created so you can follow it. If you have any other questions let me know.
