I had gotten the Nano II many months ago and just did the firmware update last week. I am a big user of the iPhone with BMC app and this works so slick that it is definitely another step in the right direction. BTW - I am also a big Blackmagic Fan Boy also. I have their cameras, ATEMS, and Davinci Resolve Studio. They have definitely had the biggest impact on my Video making. Their products are definitely game-changers.
Awesome! Love the Nano II! I’m considering selling my Nucleus M system and getting another Nano II with the handle for my Pocket 6k Pro rig. BlackMagic has taught me a lot about filmmaking and because they offer such a great product for a reasonable price people like us have the ability to compete with big budget films. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@scott_stevenson make sure that Nano is on the latest firmware and the app is up to date. Then make sure both have Bluetooth turned on. Should connect very simple after that. Let me know if you get it. I know mine didn’t work till the update.
Hi, I have the opportunity to buy just the Tilta nano 2 knob to use with iPhone 15 pro. How can I fix it to a rig? Do I need a specific connector or does it connect with a cold shoe or other standard connection ? Thanks
Hey! Cool, it’s a really good accessory. It attaches via a nato rail mount. If you have a cage for your phone hopefully it has a nato rail. If not you can buy a cheap nato rail to attach to the cage via 1/4” bolts that are common on most cages. Here is an example of a nato rail amzn.to/44FMQhI
Hi, thanks for sharing this. I am a one person production and I need to be able to film myself in the field doing various activities. My main need is to start and stop video recording remotely. It would be very helpful to be able to see myself remotely before starting recording. Any suggestions for a tool to help with this use case?
Unfortunately I don’t think there is a way to remote monitor yourself using the iPhone. You would need something like a lumix camera that has an app that allows remote monitoring. Sorry I dont have a better solution.
I currently have my iphone 15 pro and BM app. Ive seen a few video of the Nano2 but after looking it up the Handle Kit keep popping up. Would you recommended the handle for an iphone or is an overkill? Thanks for this video!
Since the iPhone is so light, it would definitely help to keep things more stable with the handle and possibly a cage setup. I’m actually thinking about getting the handle to replace my Nucleus M side handle. The cool thing about the Nano 2 is that it’s so versatile and can be used with many different setups if you add another camera to your kit down the road. Thanks for watching!
At the moment it will only work while using the BlackMagic camera app and I don’t believe you can live stream to Facebook via the app. There are work arounds like using a capture card or ATEM to the phone, but that defeats the purpose of using a mobile phone. Hopefully they will add Facebook support as time goes on. Thanks for watching!
BlackMagic just released the Android version of the Camera app. It should work just the same, however I haven’t tried it personally. Thanks for watching!
I have a follow focus nucleus-n 1, it turns out that there was a curious person who put 14v into my nucleus, and it burned! :C long story! Now I only have the engine left, can I just buy a nucleus two? the new one that came out and use it with the engine?
Oh man sorry to hear that. The Nucleus II control knob is backwards compatible with all previous Nucleus motors but I don’t believe the Nucleus II motor is compatible with the Nucleus I controller. Hope this answers your question. Thanks for watching!
It’s a good beginning, but for 1 People Production, I find the lack of white balance, shutter speed, and lens change controls to be really missing elements.
I believe because the lenses are stabilized and are basically floating they can have a slight jerk movement when starting a zoom or focus. If possible with your setup, change the speed of the zoom to slow it down enough to not cause too much of a jolt to the lens. This should help get rid of most of the jerk. Thanks for watching!

Awesome thanks for sharing. I never even thought to connect the nano to the phone. So helpful
No problem! It works with the original Nano and Nucleus M hand wheels too. Thanks for watching!
I can not seem to get the nano to show up on the Bluetooth list like you showed in the video. Am I doing something wrong?
@@scott_stevenson make sure that Nano is on the latest firmware and the app is up to date. Then make sure both have Bluetooth turned on. Should connect very simple after that. Let me know if you get it. I know mine didn’t work till the update.
Yep most recent firmware update is the key! Thanks
Awesome! Glad you got it!

Hello friend, please tell me are functions zoom, focus works when you recording on IPhone 15 Pro Max ?
Yes those functions work using the BlackMagic Camera App.

Hi. Does it work if Im tranmitting a Facebook Live? I just want to zoom in and zoom out wothout touching the iPhone sceen.

What is the Onion device that shows up in your BM Bluetooth settings?
Those are the tube lights I’m using by YC Onion. It’s not being controlled just shows up in the Bluetooth settings. Thanks for watching!
Is it possible control zoom over gnob, if I use iphone or android phone? Joystick is not smooth, but gnob I think id better
You can change the function of the knob/control wheel or rocker arm in the setting.
@@GlenReed Is it possible, if you make a video too how to change and how to zoom smoothly using knob/control wheel: )
@@triinulepa4719 I’ll keep it in mind 🙂
This only works with Blackmagic or with other applications too
At the moment I think it only works with the BlackMagic app.
Does it work on android or is it exclusive to iPhone and blackmagic app?
BlackMagic just released the Android version of the Camera app. It should work just the same, however I haven’t tried it personally. Thanks for watching!

The problem is: you cannot change the lens (e. g. 1x->5x)! This is a main disadvantage (for me)!
I totally understand. Hopefully they add the feature in the future via firmware. Thanks for watching!
Excelente!
Thank you! 😊
One update needed for using on the iPhone would be to have the ability to assign the ISO, for this is your only real exposure control 🍃
Yes! I’m sure it will eventually be added via a firmware update. Hopefully the ability to change lenses too. Thanks for watching!
It’s a good beginning, but for 1 People Production, I find the lack of white balance, shutter speed, and lens change controls to be really missing elements.
Hopefully they continue to add elements and supported cameras via firmware updates. Thanks for watching!
Im seeing jerk at start of zoom in or out.anyone else?Great Show!🎉

It looks like some futuristic device that would belong in Minority Report from the 2000’s.
😂 yeah it definitely looks cool!! The screen is LEGIT! Thanks for watching!
Not sure if this, trying to sell you, Blackmagic and Tiilta product, or showing people how to use a wireless control with the iPhone.
This was me just trying to create content. Thanks for watching!
