It is a GREAT feature. 2 Questions : 1. How many phones (cameras) can be connected to a controller at a time ? 2. Does it support only recording ? I mean, can I take photos (snaps) with this ?
Excellent Tute! Thank you. 2 Qs: 1) Does the app allow Record / Pause / Resume / Stop? 2) Can a Windows PC/Laptop be set to control all smart phones connected?
Excellent video - was looking at nanny-cam or webcam apps to try and do this, but the black magic app works perfectly - using 2 iphone 11s one on a 2m long extension and gimbal - giving some fantastic panoramic shots and drone type aerial shots.
This is game changing for me. I always struggled to monitor the recording. I used AirPlay my iPhone's screen to my MacBook but then I can't use the MacBook anymore. I wish it could work on cable to minimise delay.
Great video! Btw is it possible to use the new rack focusing feature on the remote B cam to control and change rack focus from 1 to 2 to 3 on the main recording A cam? Thank you
It's a good way for Apple to sell more devices I guess. If you have a second iPhone, can you use it without it needing to be on a plan, or must it have a SIM card?
What if you don’t need any filmmaking tools, and all you want is low-latency iPad monitoring for the iPhone’s camera? I’m kinda needing to use it as if it s a mirror, and I’m wondering why I can’t find something with latency more on par with continuity camera. I might just have to use my laptop as my monitor but ughgggh
Thanks for your early alert to this upgrade. Any idea why I'm getting a "no other cameras available" message on all 3 of our iphones (mine is iphone 15 ProMax, wife has a new iphone 15 pro) after I add the updated app? I appreciate your descripions in youTube, very clear and helpful.
@@RevLevo2 You’re welcome! As mentioned in the other comment make sure they are all connected to the same WiFi network first. Otherwise try uninstalling and then reinstalling the app on each device. That often solves the glitches in apps. Hopefully that fixes things for you?
3:16 This problem is not with wifi but with bluetooth. If you allow bluetooth with peripheral devices, you can proceed to the next screen. If the problem persists, reboot both devices, which may fix the issue.
@@simoz78 Match Controller does a one time push, Link controls adjust the controls of the linked camera, simultaneously, in real time. You can link all controlled cameras together or you can link some.
Does remote monitoring with BM app needs both iPhones to be signed in with same Apple ID or can I use my friends iPhone/iPad & use this remote monitoring?
Good question. I don't see why you couldn't use a friends iphone/ipad for the monitoring. As long they have the same app downloaded then you just need wifi turned on.
No chance to connect IPhone 15 Pro with IPad (8 Gend), both with updated systems, both properly connected to the same Wi-Fi, swith-on Bluetooth, the same Apple ID... Maybe someone had the same prob? Thanks!
I have a question, I have tried many things and they don't work for me. When I try to connect it to my tablet or any of the phones that it has, it won't let me and I get this note. No remote cameras available for controle
@@SmartphoneFilmmaker The truth is that it's not just my iPhone, I have three phones that I use to record and none of them connect, I always get an announcement that the connection is not available, I have not been able to connect any of them.
@@SmartphoneFilmmaker I do the whole connection process correctly, the process is totally simple, but when I finally touch the control that appears in the upper left corner of the screen with my finger, then I get an announcement that says that the connections are not available.

Damnit I thought this was for actual camera monitoring like from my literal cinema camera to my ipad s I can control and see directly of my cine cam smh lol
I can't work out how to display a lot on my monitoring iPad with 3 cams. The individual iPhones show the lut but don't pass it through to the iPad for monitoring. On the iPad the settings seem to only be for the ipads camera and not for all the incoming feeds.
It's one of the feature I missed from Filmic pro, nice to see it implemeted in the BM camera app
Same. That was the only reason I used filmic pro anymore.
It is a GREAT feature. 2 Questions :

Excellent Tute! Thank you. 2 Qs:
1) Does the app allow Record / Pause / Resume / Stop?
2) Can a Windows PC/Laptop be set to control all smart phones connected?
Thanks! 1) Unfortunately not. That can’t be done currently in the app.
2) No. it currently only works with iOS devices.
The fact that they don't allow Andriod users to do this sucks.
Juhuuu... that's exactly what I have been waiting for !!!!! Such a great app! Love it! Thanks for your tutorial!
Same! No problem. Glad you enjoyed it so much!
Can I ask what the range is between the 2 cameras. Could you use in different rooms etc?
The ONLY feature I kept Filmic Pro/Remote for.
❤️
Yep. Same here.

Thanks! Yeah I used this feature for a video yesterday and it worked seamlessly again.

Yeah it's one of the best updates by far. Kind of makes Filmic Pro completely obsolete now.
Great video! Btw is it possible to use the new rack focusing feature on the remote B cam to control and change rack focus from 1 to 2 to 3 on the main recording A cam? Thank you
Thanks! That's a great question. I will need to test that out.
Does this work with any ip cam, like gopro?

So we can also use the b camera as the controller and to record at the same time?
Yes. That’s how I have been using it.
Match Controller - It pushes the values of the controller’s Main Controls (LEN, FPS, SHUTTER, ISO, WB, TINT, Exposure) to the remote camera.
does the Link Controls do the same but in real time as I change any values?
Ah I knew someone out there would know this. Thanks!

I'm waiting for the people of BM make an update 2.5 where you can use your iPhone like monitor too in a Blackmagic cameras. That's will be awesome.
Yes, I have seen a number of comments on their socials requesting this feature so I wouldn't be surprised if it happened.
Wonderful... Thank you for posting.
Thanks. Appreciate it!

No. Only for iphones and new (ish) ipads.

It keeps saying “No remote cameras available for control”. I’m using an iPad Pro (not M series)
Their Facebook update post says it supports Apple Silicon based iPad Pros. I don’t have an iPad myself but that may be the issue?
I cannot find in my Blackmagic camera app settings. I have the latest update too. Weird.

I had to delete the app then re-download the update. It's there now for me.
