As a kid growing up in Colorado, I had the book "The Colorado Pass Book" by Don Koch. As soon as I saw and read about Tomichi Pass, I knew I wanted to do that pass. We didn't have any 4WD vehicles at that time so I sort of forgot about it. Fast forward to 2009, I just got my 1st jeep. We were visiting family in Trinidad, and made this as a very long day trip, 5 passes (3 dirt): LaVeta, Poncha, Hancock, Tomichi, and Old Monarch. What a trip, but so beautiful. I really like the contrast of looking at one pass from the other. Looking at Tomichi from Hancock you see this very graceful, elegant shelf road. Looking at Hancock from Tomichi, you see this almost brute-force road wiggling down the valley. I have to do this again (but not in a single day). Thanks for bringing back those memories.
The Taylor Park area is gorgeous!!!! Been going out there for 10 years with side by sides but its time to build a Jeep and see other areas of Colorado. Getting older and don't like all the dust in my eyes 😜
Nice, my favorite pass is Kebler, easy to do on two wheels. (part of the West Elk Loop). You should do NYE at the Redstone Inn if you can get in. Might be too warm for you. lol
out of state permit for 2024 for me and my jeep was only 25.25 + roundup tip I chose so $40 total (2024) - OHV Permit Valid Jul 02 2024 THRU Mar 31 2025 Fulfillment Method: Fulfilled by Mail (Standard Shipping - $0.00) okay back to the video
I hear you, but there are two issues with that. 1) Wind noise really ruins the audio quality and 2) Drones have no audio, if they did, you would just hear prop noise. We try to include as much "natural sound" as possible, but without any music at all, you wouldn't hear much of anything pleasant to listen to.

Great video! Looks like another fun trail with epic scenery! 😊
Nice! Yeah, that didn't look to be too difficult.
The St Elmo area is great. There's something for everyone, from basic dirt roads to extreme trails.
Great drone footage.
Thanks!

That area must have been hit hard by pine beatles. Still beautiful

I don’t think there is any difference with in state or out of state, that’s the same price we pay.
Hancock looks to be way worse then when I did it several years ago. When we did Tomichi, pre landslide, I'd say it was a 3-4
How far off camber was the worst spot??? (I won’t do trails with 30 degrees or greater)
Maybe 18-20 if you pick the worst lines
Love the trails, but the music with it not so much 👎I just prefer the sounds ya'll hear doing it,sounds of nature 👍🍺

@TrailTraveler the last part was better, very low music 👌👍🍺
