Whenever I’m stuck on an issue in bubble head land. I can count on you explaining it clearly, without confusing me anymore
I haven't paper lined a mould for years because the way I learned how was so ridiculously complicated. I may dig out my old wooden moulds and give this a try. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome. I still love using this method with my wooden moulds :)
This is honestly the life I want to have. Make my own soap, bake my own bread, have a field of cows and a herd of chickens. Your videos are so peaceful and you are just amazing. Thank you so much for sharing all those tips and pointers, and please keep it up!!!
Thank you so much, I love your vision! I have chickens too, but no cows. I do love cows though. And goats!
This is exactly how I want my life too loe, I also want to own farm, so I can tell exactly what I ingest and use on my body. Some people thinks its stressful, I find it fun and fulfilling
amen!! i grew up a city girl to country immigrant parents and i want nothing more than the same homesteaded island life my parents had!
Herds of chickens & herds of turtles 😂
New to soap making. I love this easy one piece fold method. No cutting here and there. I was never good with paper dolls.
I cannot thank you enough for not only all of your video's, but especially this one. I have near about beat my head against a wall trying to line my new wooden soap molds. and here you are, showing us how easy it can be. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
You're welcome Robyn, thanks!
You are my favorite soap maker on RUclips! Thank you for your sweet patience teaching.
You are so good at teaching. You should of been a school teacher. Thanks for doing this video. Will try it this way next time
Best soap mold lining video I've seen yet! Thanks so much!
I’ve watched this multiple times, and I’m still convinced that it’s witchcraft! Lol. 🤣
Oh that's so funny. Try it! You'll get the hang of it ;)
Lol... Same here!
The amount of paper that I used to get it done right 😂🤣 I even cut my finger on the freezer paper cutter
I totally agree! Back to the silicon liner
🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is brilliant! You're amazing and contribute so beautifully to the maker's world and it's not only about soap. I really appreciate the thoughtfulness and care you put into these tutorials. You've made soap making easier and more approachable for me and when I need to learn more - which is everyday! - your videos are packed with extensive details and tips from your years of experience. Thank you!!! Can't wait to get started with making my first batch ever :-)
Oh My Gosh!!! I am so glad this is still here. I don't know why I missed it when looking before but dang...this is the easiest!! Thank you so much!!
This tutorial was soooooo explicit and easy to follow. I've lined my wooden soap mold effortlessly now. This is a total game changer for me. Thank you so so much.
You are very welcome. Thanks for your kind feedback :)
Haha. Still haven't got it right. I felt mildly retarded when I tried it. Eventually I hope to get it right
This is the best video I've ever seen on mold lining, I swear. Common sense blended with skills, which is sadly rare nowadays. So much easier than so many professional soap makers make it out to be as well. Thanks so much for the video. I had been using smaller molds - 2 KG - & making multiple batches at a time until I ordered much larger molds to fulfill orders. Problem was, no liners came with them, and they hold A LOT of soap.
I am just about to fill one of those large molds with soap. Just waiting for my lye to drop to around room temperature, then ran across your video.
So wonderful, thank you.
I just scored a homemade wooden tool box for $2,50 that screws apart and is essentially a soap mold like yours! I came looking for a way to make a liner and your video is brilliant!
Greetings from 🇧🇧. This video is a game changer. I was literally on the verge of shopping for silicone molds. Thanks and great job 👍
Hahaha! Like poetry in motion. You make it look so easy!!!
I almost gave up but watched your videos more times than I’d like to admit. I finally got it, thank you so much for the video!
Wonderful! You're most welcome :)
Brilliant method, thanks Elly. I've just lined a small mould and it's really neat. I like that there are no gaps for the soap batter to leak through.
Thank you, Aannsha! That's so good to know. :)
I just got new acrylic moulds and this technique will save me heaps of time to line it. Thanks so much for sharing all your tips with us.
I had been breaking my head trying to figure out how to line my box 😅 I thought it’d be easy! It wasn’t lol that’s when I RUclips’d how to line a box for soaps and I ran into your video! I’m so happy I did!! Its the best, thank you for sharing this with so many people 💖
Elly thanks for your techniques of using baking paper as Liner you have helped me saved so much money
After watching several other videos and throwing paper across the room because it just didn't work. I just lined my mold on the first attempt with no problems. I can finally use this mold after owning it a few months. Thank you so much for making this video.
You are very welcome Donna :)
Same here and I am usually very clumsy when it comes to stuff like this. So proud of myself and super thankful for the tutorial
Small tricks save lot of money and time. Love it. :)
Thank you, Elly! Big hug from Brazil... :)
This is perfection. I’ve wasted SO much freezer paper trying to line my molds properly. This is easy and has clean lines. For years I’ve used old grocery bags, but this looks so much nicer. Thanks for sharing!
Lordy!! I have been stupid lining my baking trays for years. Thank you so much Elly.
Oh you're welcome, there's always so much to learn, isn't there?
I watched a first video, then subscribed, then watched a second, a third, a fourth video... Oh my God, you just made it so simple for me now ! Every single video is a bunch of precious detailed and priceless information. I am so greatful !!
Thank you from Morocco ☺
Thank you Sophia! That's so wonderful :)
Me too , first video and I click subscribe before it got to the end.
You are brilliant!
Thanks! I imagine I may be able to even solve the gift wrap issue with this method with a bit extra. 😂
It seems so obvious to do now that I’ve seen this. Thank you for all you do!
Thank you Beckie!! Wow, I appreciate your support so much. Very happy this was so helpful for you.
Thank you very much Ellys. A much sought after lesson
Thank you sweet Elly❤
Thank you so much. This was such an easy technique to line my mould. I have been struggling to do it before. Thanks a lot for this tutorial. Has made my life easier as a soapmaker
Most welcome 😊
I am making soap for my son and future daughter in-laws up coming wedding. This is the 2nd wedding that I have done this for. The first one was 7 years ago, but, due to stress from the pandemic and age I had completely forgotten how to make a liner. I can not tell you how easy your instructions are to follow. Now, for each batch ( I am making 250 bars) I open your easy to follow instructions and it helps me along each time. Thank you again!!
Elly, I did it after watching the video 7 times.🎉
Well done!
I just finished my very first batch of soap. I so appreciate this video and the one about how to measure in order to make a batch to fit your mold. I used a box for a mold and the batch fit perfectly following your instructions. I watched a bunch of your videos and used all I learned in creating my own recipe. I know it's supposed to be a simple one with your first, but I kind of went my own way with the help of soap calc. I used olive oil, sweet almond oil, castor oil, coconut oil, and castor oil. I replaced the water with almond milk and added 2 teaspoons of honey at light trace. I hand mixed everything with a whisk and did the room temperature method. I was so nervous when I started, but stirring soap for nearly 2 hours with a few short breaks was so relaxing. I did it in my garage with a nice little breeze blowing. Awesome experience. Thank you for your videos. I learned and applied a lot of what you taught. Can't wait to see how they come out.
Oh wow. I am so happy for you, what a wonderful approach to your first batch of soap! Sounds like you thoroughly did you research - well done. I will be doing some videos on 'no stick blender soap' soon - but a quick tip now - if you heat up the oils a bit, they will emulsify a lot faster (ie. less whisking) Thanks for such a great comment.
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking Thank you for the tip. I'm afraid by the time my batch had sit for 24 hours, I found it had the dreaded orange spots and white spots I think are steric acid. I believe I didn't have things hot enough for one so the hard oils must have solidified too fast, and even thought I had a nice breeze, I am deducing the orange spots were due to the humidity. I will change things up and do as you said and give it a bit more heat to speed up the process.
Question: I know I can still use the soap when it has the orange spots, but what about the white ones? I figure I will let it cure and then use a test strip to be sure the ph is correct. I am still researching to understand the white spots. They are small and throughout when I cut the soap today. In fact they stick out some and I do think it is the hard oils solidified before it all saponified.
I'll just call your way the easy way of lining a mold. Thank you so much for demonstrating this method. I'll be using it from now on. my way was clumsy with a lot of unnecessary steps.
Thanks Sheilah, you're welcome :)
Ohhhh my gosh Elly What a game changer. I love this. I just did my first soap box using this method, I will always do this from now on. Ready in a fraction of the time.
Thanks Laura, it's an elegant solution I think :)
Thanks so much for demonstrating this technique. I've been making soap every October for years to present to family and close friends for Christmas. Who doesn't love receiving homemade soap? I use homemade, rectangular molds (I made one set, myself, and my spouse made me another set after we got married). Lining these molds has always, always, always been problematic. I always wind up having two messy ends of my loaves, and use the ends as sacrificial bars - good for purposes that a nice looking bar of soap isn't necessary. Here we are at that time of year again. I will give your technique a try and let you know how it goes! Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome!
Omg thank you so much! I hate lining but also hate losing volume to my silicon moulds
This is SO useful, thank you for sharing.
I love this!!! I will be using this on several boxes for starting out 🥰💐
Thanks, I love watching your videos
Thank you :)
Elly, amazing idea!!!!
Thanks so much for this helpful tip. I will be using it regularly to bake all sorts of breads.
I tried this today. It works like a charm.
Thank You.
How neat! Thank you sooo much ❤❤❤
Thank you so much! I appreciate it a lot. :)
Thanks for showing! 😌🥰
You're welcome!
Absolutely inventive 💕 TY
So simple! I love it. Cant wait to make soap!
Wow, a lesson in origami as well as a cool way to line your mold👏👏👏
Thank you for this Elly
love it!!.. brilliant!!!..thank you!!!
The best video ever❤ thanks
Brilliant. Thank you.
BRILLIANT!! Thanks for sharing!
bloody brilliant Elly :)
Game changer!! Thank you
THANK YOU Elly!
Thank you for this video. I have come back to it several times, because, of course, I cannot remember from one batch to the next. 😂
Haha, sounds like me 😅
Oh Elly!! I have watched this so many times. I think I’ve finally got it. You make this look so easy! I am thinking I failed Origami if I ever did it at school. Even my neighbour watched me do this and was laughing at my struggle!! 😂😂Thank you for all you do for us! I am a work in progress. Regards. Cassandra Hill. ❤😊
You can do it Cassandra!!!
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking I did it!! But not as well as yours! I have done this a few times but I just never can remember or get the hang. I think you are an origami guru. 😊
Thankyou Elly this is amazing.
This is GENIUS!!! Thank you so much!!!!❤
Thank you! It's cool, amazing, awesome!👍
This is an absolute game changer! Thank you so much. 🙏🏼
So, I unfolded my soap I mentioned below, having used your one-piece liner instructions. Worked like a charm! Extremely square bottom corners, very straight sides, virtually no leakage. Yea! Thanks again!
Yay!
BRILLIANT! Thanks.
Excellent walkthrough, thanks for the video
Thank you for the lesson.
Oh my goodness! Game changer! Now i can use the mold hubby made for me 😄 thankyou so very much
That's great! You're welcome.
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking Used a cute wooden drawer yesterday to mould my very first soap batch. My baking paper leaked and it was a fun half hour or more getting my masterpiece out of the drawer. This is most helpful, thank you! Also, is your charcoal powder (from your first soap video) from a local (Aust) seller? It is either priced like gold dust or in a huge container and therefore very expensive. Thanks again, Elly.
@@janebell7122 sorry for the late reply, I haven't used charcoal powder in any of my videos, but I do have some which I bought fairly cheaply from a health food shop. A little goes a long way!
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking Thanks Elly I found some charcoal at a local health food store as well eventually.
Wow wow I can save so much money for the molds!!! I'm thinking of re-using my shoe boxes
you are so generous in giving information thank you
I will do this. Thanks for the tutorial
That was very helpful thanks for sharing!
Brilliant!!
Oh cool, like this method best. Thanks!
You are so clever! Many thanks for sharing
FABULOUS!
You are amazing! No doubt about it!😊
Even easier way to line my cake pans than the previous video. Thank you again!
You're welcome! This is great for all kinds of things :)
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking 👍
Very nicely done. Will try that
This is genius! Worked perfectly. The only thing is ...what kind of tape are you using? Nothing I've used will stick! I'm using parchment paper (silicone paper), and nothing will stick to tape down the sides. My soap mold is wooden and the tape will stick to the mold...just not the paper! I've looked through the comments and I must be the only person having this issue. Thank you in advance, and thank you so much for the absolute best video tutorials I've ever seen in decades of soap making! Love everything about you!
Oh thank you Barbara! Mmm, well you know, I have the same issue with the tape too. I just use regular sticky tape, or scotch tape. The trick is to get your fingernail and really push it on :)
You are the best im speachless ♥️♥️😍😍
Oh thank you so much :)
WoW, thanks for doing this video
Wow! That is great! I am sure I have seen a hundred soap making videos. Never have I seen it done this way... Love it.
Brilliant, thank you Nancy. I think I've watched at least that many too! I thought this one might be helpful. It was a breakthrough for me.
Hello Elly love. Thank you so much for sharing. Awesome leasson. Love from Brazil
Fantastic! I have been looking for this very thing - thanks so much for your generosity in sharing
Brilliant!
Excellet! Thank you.
Very nice...thank you!
This is great !
This is perfect thank you. I just got home from kmart after buying some of those bamboo draw organiser boxes just for this purpose. I can't wait to start making soap 😊
Fantastic! I love those moulds, they make such a nice neat log with the paper liner. Good luck! :)
I thought of those too and bought them before I saw the video - perfect size. Managed to fold the liners first try! Thanks for the video Elly
My gosh I love your videos. I've been crushing my molds to get them out of the silicone. Not anymore! Thanks.
You are so welcome!
OMG origami mold liner! You are a genius! The 'no leak' part and square corners is priceless! Thanks for sharing!!
So lovely, thanks
Brilliant Ellie you make it look so easy
Thank you so much! Glad it helps. :)
My son works with cars spraying body work and uses harsh chemicals , since I started making your soaps I gave some to him to use he was amazed his hands were always sore cracked and he had eczema, they have cleared up in such a short time , I can't thankyou enough
Thank you so much it folds so so well thank you !💕😍🎉
Brilliant. Better than the method I was taught in a workshop!
Thank you for doing this video! Really appreciate the knowledge you share 😊❤️✨
Wow! Wonderful!!!! I can make my own mound and line it. Wow!!!!
Yes!! :)
i got it second try, cheers
