I used some random cable that I found in amazon. Unfortunately, I think they stopped selling it. wacom’s quality is always top notch. Price is always a downside because they’re always expensive but Wacom One, their entry level pen display is within your price range. Huion and the others are already catching up though.

Hey thanks for the review ! Quick question as you seem to own both 13 and 13 pro, which one would you recommend ? They cost pretty much the same now so is there one that is better in your opinion? (this is my first tablet and I would use it mainly for photoshop on win10). Thanks!
Hi! The kamvas 13 pro is an older model. I would say get the 13 since it has newer tech in it. The 13 pro has a smoother drawing surface than the 13 since the 13 has a paper-like screen protector. They’re both decent pen displays and have the battery free stylii. Both are very good for a first pen display. Hope that helps!
What are the differences between Kamvas 13 and Kamvas 13 Pro? After watching some videos I kinda think the Kamvas 13 is better, but why is the Name of The Kamvas 13 Pro then with Pro?
The kamvas 13 pro is an older pen display. Even though the build quality is better, the tech in it is previous gen. Unless there was an update that I'm not aware of.
Hi there! I liked your review a lot, and it was actually the one which gave me a headache. :D I'm having hard time deciding which one to get - Kamvas 13 2020 or Kamvas 13 pro. I’m not interested in Android and usb-c features, but drawing experience and durability. Since you own both models, can you tell what's the drawing experience on those devices? Any noticeable difference? Are there any overheating issues? I mean - I understand that 2020 version has the newer pen and is cheaper, but changing screen protector from time to time will change its cost, so... Is it actually better than Pro version? Thank you in advance!
Yeah the Kamvas 13 has newer tech, apart from the screen protector thing, it's a decent drawing tablet. The surface of the 13 pro is a little bit smoother compared to the kamvas 13 2020, so if you want the little gritty texture, 13 2020 is the way to go. Both of the products are durable and I've had good drawing experiences with them, but I was drawn more to the newer tech. I believe the 13 pro doesn't have the tilt functionality? (not sure if this is updated, i had the very first 13 pro.) They also both heat up a little bit, not annoyingly non-usable hot though. For the screen protector - You don't have to change it frequently. Since my last review and my last use (a month ago) - It's still holding up. This might skew your decision a little bit but drawing on the 13 2020 feels more comfortable for me personally. I always go for newer tech. That's just me though, but since tech is always moving fast, the latest and greatest now is the best that you can get, especially when it fits your budget.
@@kahlena tech and screen, the 13 pro glides a little smoother than the 13 2020.. the screen protector has a little bit of texture.. so entirely preferential.. save up for wacom?? haha😀

hi !! i haven't seen many talk about this, so i was just wondering - is the USB c to USB c standalone? or do i still need to plug in a power source? i use mac and it only has USB c :/
Hi! you can only use usb-c but it has to be the correct one. If you're getting one, might as well get the one from huion since some 3rd party might not fit the huion socket on the tablet itself(design flaw or on purpose) and it should also have display/data output, not only power delivery.
One that works out of the box is the (predictably overpriced) Apple USB-C cable. The plug housings are small enough to fit. Regardless, I have tested mine with three different machines (iMac pro and MacBook Pro, both running Catalina and a Windows 10 HP Zbook) and NONE of them work with it in single cable USB-C mode. Thinking of returning it.
@@EdHecht the apple usb-c doesnt transfer data or display signal, only power. I found one in amazon but it was after 3 tries. The huion one should work but it’s $25.

Hi, in macOS you can actually select from existing color profiles and adjust the colors through the kamvas OSD. Same for windows. You can adjust color accuracy in the Display Settings. I’m not sure what your target accuracy is. If it’s print, and you’re doing this professionally, you might as well invest in a color calibrator. Otherwise, you can make the colors better through these options.

Hey thanks for the honest opinion!, quick question: What cable did you purchase?. Because the tablet’s socket is “inside” not all cables work has the slim housing that fits the socket
I purchased a couple from ebay and amazon, and finally got a no-brand one. It's been out of stock for a while, unfortunately. I will recommend just getting the huion instead of spending time and money doing trial and error. I ended up spending like $20 overall and 2 weeks, and the huion cable is like $25 i think?
I like drawing, but i also like play osu!, A musical game that requires high speed with the pencil so. Can i use it for both proposes? Or i shall keep my actual 1060plus to play this game? Im afrad to scratch the screen. And, the surface under the protector is glass or plastic? I mean, can i use it with out protector, or it will scratch forever ?
This is definitely good for osu because you're tapping directly on the screen. Not sure about the effect on the matte screen protector though it might scratch too much because I know how much tapping and swiping while playing the game, specially at high tempos. You might want to keep the 1060plus for OSU and this for drawing. The main display surface is smooth without the matte screen protector. You might want to keep it on just for the drawing texture.

How does it feel while using as a regular tablet (with the pointer on second monitor)? I will be actually sketching about 30% of the time. Thanks
it's ok. You wont even notice that you're using a pen display since it's light as well.
Hey is it alright if i know exactly what usb c tp usb c cable did you use?
I used some random cable that I found in amazon. Unfortunately, I think they stopped selling it. But the specs are: Data, Power and Display signals and it has to fit in that hole on the side of the kamvas 13. I'd recommend just getting the huion official one since it would be counterproductive to spend extra cash just to find the right one.

Hii, thank you for this review, I'm really tempted to get an upgrade so I decided to try display tablets, but after reading the comments I became quite hesitant, is there any maybe wacom display tablets? I heard they're very long lasting, And if possible below 400$?
wacom’s quality is always top notch. Price is always a downside because they’re always expensive but Wacom One, their entry level pen display is within your price range. Huion and the others are already catching up though.
I’ve been looking through problem after problem, but I really want it, so I’m gonna get it and pray it works, I’m using gift money, so, it’s long like my hard earned money is being spent on a gamble. (Still hurts though -.-)
It really is an investment. I remember buying my first tablet, it was $250! And it was back in 2006, no reviews and youtube videos for it. I hope you get the best out of it and be great at what you do!
@@artofjiro oh man xD hard times for sure. Specially if you had no other artists to interact (maybe forums?).

would you reccomend the kamvas 13 pro instead of this one i wanna get the pro one but they say the kamvas 13 has a better pen
Yep. I don't think huion has updated the 13 pro yet. It's still from 2 years ago. Personally, I'll get just the 13.

@@carmarilart I never owned an XP-Pen, i only heard of how awesome it is. 👍🏽
@@artofjiro yes :D
Hi there! I liked your review a lot, and it was actually the one which gave me a headache. :D
I'm having hard time deciding which one to get - Kamvas 13 2020 or Kamvas 13 pro.
@@artofjiro yeah, pro version does have tilt.
So it all comes down to the pen, because it's newer and has better tech. Is it noticeably better?
@@kahlena tech and screen, the 13 pro glides a little smoother than the 13 2020.. the screen protector has a little bit of texture.. so entirely preferential.. save up for wacom?? haha😀

@@kahlena bro in my opinion u should consider getting the pro bc it cant be just marketing scum or something like wtf the pro is 150 dollars up. I mean it has to be better. hi !! i haven't seen many talk about this, so i was just wondering - is the USB c to USB c standalone? or do i still need to plug in a power source? i use mac and it only has USB c :/
Hi! you can only use usb-c but it has to be the correct one. If you're getting one, might as well get the one from huion since some 3rd party might not fit the huion socket on the tablet itself(design flaw or on purpose) and it should also have display/data output, not only power delivery.
What USB-C cable are you using with the Display, I cnt find one that can fit in the hole
