The Huion Kamvas 12 is the lowest price drawing tablet you can buy. It costs $220 and it's very good for the price and what it is.

The tablets without displays are great to get started on
@@marvijawed9426 ^ this exactly. I started on an old old Wacom pen model years ago, before there were cheaper companies making their own (that I was aware of)
The ones we have now that are pen models have some amazing prices, and they’re perfectly wonderful to start on!
I’m lucky that I was able to afford a nice pen display. I had to work all summer for it though and It costed 340$. Remember 200$ might seem like a lot and it is a lot, but if u save up for a few months then u could probably afford it
loooool
Facts lol not cheap enough i spent a lil bit over 100 for a gaomon tablet
Looks like the same stylus I love > AND it has quick access buttons!?
H-hi i am biggest fan for u
Yep yep, pretty much the same.
2021s most ambitious cross over
Sensei I am your student I follow all of your tutorial and draw with mikey. Notice me senpai
@@thebradcolbow hey I am a traditional artist thinking of moving to digital media. I use a lot of different mediums such as oil, watercolour, charcoal, etc, so for the next step I wanted to try out digital art too. After a lot of research, I found that Huion H610 is affordable and has several features such as 8000 lvls of pressure and high resolution. Still I am seeing a lot of mixed comments about this device. What do you think of it?
I bought a Huion Kamvas Pro over a year and a half ago, based on your recommendation even though some people were telling me it won't last long.
It's still going strong, working perfectly, I haven't had a single issue with it. Huions are really worth it.
can i download a software from internet that will work with this tablet ? i dont have any CD entrance. id rather have a free software also🤔
@@vegegrinch yes, it's called Krita! It's free software that's amazing for painting and it's also easy to learn.
You can also find their youtube channel and lots of tutorials about how to paint with it.
@@vegegrinch I recommend you Medibang paint pro, it's absolutely free and it works really well
is it still going great fater 3 years?
@@lola-to9om Yes! Zero issues. I'm not using it every day like I used to (I switched my focus to 3D), so I use it only occasionally now, but it still works flawlessly.
I freaking love your lil animations Brad, they really give a unique touch to your reviews :)
Btw, glove dance!!!!
Yes we love the glove dance
I definitely didn't glove dance when I got my 2020 Kamvas 13 (I really did lol)
Glad you like them!
@@thebradcolbow thanks for you 2020 Kamvas 13 review. Bought one cause of your review and it's been a joy to own and use
That was a very wonderful review. The best thing about Brad is that he explains things that a person would want to know before buying like stands, pen feel etc. Thanks Brad.
Huion is the underdogs of drawing tablets
They’ll likely stay that way unless they improve customer support
"hey kid, do you want a pen tablet?"
@@smhaley unmm yea
@@lukegamingxyz8989 "get in the van..."
ok this was a dumb joke
I got one of the older versions of these after watching an old review on this channel. Very happy with it, works great :)
I'm glad you actually show us it working and you using it instead of describing it without us seeing it
Hey Brad, Thank you for doing this tutorial. I made it to the squares on my Kamvas 12, and then I just started drawing. I ended up drawing an evil #5 number block for my autistic son who loves number blocks. Then my kids wanted to draw too. It was a great night. Tomorrow we are all going to try your class together. Thank you so much!
Hey Brad, just want to say its the small details like letting people know that other cables you had laying around dont work with the device. Which makes your reviews the best on RUclips. Keep it up.
Perfect timing! I was just wondering about the kanvas 12!
THE GLOVE DANCE IS BACK
Currently planning on buying a Huion Kamvas, thanks for the review on this, much needed.
I don’t even draw... I just found this in my recommended...
Everyone else talking about the tablet itself while here I am seeing cartoon Brad's floating head in the last frame of the video
I actually got this tablet for christmas, I know it has a lot of 50/50 reviews, but personally I love it. I thought the small screen would be inconvenient but it doesn’t really feel like that much of a burden. I’m new to display tablets and this is my first one, but for starters I think it’s a great pick. Unless you have a lot of money to spend on something way more pro this little guy is killer. I use it on my desktop mostly but it fits right into my laptop carrying bag with my laptop and is great for on the go.
@Mahoxz Ch. マホックス yes
I just got the 13 and it’s a great experience. I got a deal on Amazon. Being new in drawing displays I have no complaints at all. I will say it does not seem to work well with Gimp, but works with Krita.
are grips and krita the software ? sorry i am new to drawing tablet
@@vegegrinch yes. they're both softwares that we use to replace photoshop drawing functions!
I bet it's no longer working
YES!!!! I NEED KRITA!!
@@vickagememes6214 why?
I have the kamvas 13 and i absolutely love it
Great review as always that's why you are the best artist tech youtuber on the platform... Just awesome Bro... U have created your own unique style
Thanks, this video really helped me when it came to looking for a tablet.
To anyone who wants to start digital art and doesn’t think they can afford this, I was in the same position as u before. It kind sucks that making good art costs so much money, but if u save up money for a few months ur almost guaranteed to get enough to get a pen display (I recommend this one because it is the cheapest pen display I could find). Trust me I saved up for a bit and I got a 340$ pen display and I love it. I wish u luck with ur art :)
Yeah, me too, I saved up my money so I can buy kamvas 13, now I can draw easier
hell yeah! i just won a kamvas 12 so this is gonna be helpful
I do not own the same tablet, but I just bought one from huion and did not notice the extra nibs inside the penholder. thank you!
Finally trying to upgrade to a display tablet after using the same Wacom Bamboo tablet for almost 7 years now and it looks like this might be a good option for me
I know from where that drawing came from! :D
I'm happy about the new channel! ^^
I’m looking forward to get one for my bday
Saving up for digital drawing tablet ❤
Love your videos Brad, Cant wait to watch this one!
Edit: Also this is the tablet i got
Great review
i just got the kamvas 13! Amazon had a 50 dollar coupon for it, and for 230 out the door with stand its a steal!
I just got this. I had a non visual one and had the hardest time figuring out what my hand was doing. I hope have a screen goes way better. I just wish the manual was better.
i've been using a tablet without a display for a few years and its just awkward to use, so i've been looking into these so i can actually start doing digital art
Hey, Brad. I wonder if you've tried the Super Display app for android. It turns the android device into a PC tablet, including the pressure sensitivity. I've tried it with S6 lite and it surprisingly works really well. I'm wondering how it would feel with S7+.
Just figured that this might be an alternative for people who only have android tablets, but want to try PC drawing software.
I have the 13 and I looooove it
Hi Brad, I love your videos, but around the 2:45 mark, you need to specify that it's a usb-c display port and simply plugging it in with a computer that has a regular usb-c port won't just automatically get it to work!
Yo nice this is what i was searching for
I've had this problem for a while now. Drawing tablets seem way bigger to me in these videos but my hands are so big it feels tiny. I've realized that 13" is really the bare minimum for me to draw comfortably.
Get the 16
Yoo, this is the tablet I recently got! Glad you're reviewing it 😁
Did you bought it online or on the store. Did it cost the same
@@theirresistible4843 got it online from Amazon :))
@@itsyaraz couldn't find it tho.... But thanks for the information 😊.
I bought Kamvas 22 and also had a problem removing the protective film.
I might get one of these soon, cuz I've never done digital art before
Can you review more two in one laptops, that come with pens that could be used for art? Something like the lenovo flex 5.
Brad delivered. We approve
I was just looking for something I could use with my macbook without buying a ton of adapters! The price was a huge plus. Will probably buy 😭
New Intro:10/10
Many thanks for the review!, quick question, does the Kamvas 12 has the same issue as Kamvas 13, where the connector in the display does not allow to use any USB-C cable but only with a “slim” housing (which led you sanding one cable…)?
WOW these are getting very cheap and it comes with the stand, nice 👌 Last year I bought a kamvas 13 and it came with everything but the stand (offers are more limited in my country). Still it was totally worth it.
Did you end up buying the stand or not?
It’s currently $160 on Amazon so I’m considering getting this.
Hi Brad, been watching a lot of your reviews. I got hooked to your channel. I'm considering to buy my first pen display, between xp pen and huion 13.
Quick question though, as I am watching this review it seems that your experience on huion 13 and 12 are different. You said in the 13 that the lines are good but not really on this one. Does this mean that the pen that it comes with is different for each model? Thanks!
Thank you very much!!!
Hello Mr. Colbow. Hope you’re doing well. I just have one quick question about the XP-PEN Artist 22E Pro. Would you still recommend that drawing tablet for upcoming artist? Thanks in advance. 😊🙏
I got one today, and I acidentally got both of the screen protectors off, I should order one tommorow.
just wonddering lol can i flip that screen cuz buttons on the left n a left hander just dont go tgt helpp
btw ive had the kamvas 13 2020 for a few months now, it's developed light bleed in the left corners. noticeable on dark backgrounds, when im watching videos on it i dont really notice too much. just a warning for newer kamvas models in general
What's new in this 2021 version again? I ask cuz I'm seeing the 2020 Kamvas 13 version for the same price.
Is there kamvas 13 and kamvas 13 pro??
Thank you sir
let us know if huion does make an update to their drivers/firmware, and if it actually fix the wavy lines, been planning on buying a 13.
Great review with all the things I a, wanting to know. Unfortunately I also watched your great review for XPPen 12 and now I am frozen with indecision. This or xp pen artist 12?
Saving up to get one
Is the $30 difference worth dealing with a less accurate pen but better NTSC coverage? The XP-PEN Artist 12 pro is a little bigger physically, but as you mentioned in your review for that, doesn't suffer the wave, which makes it a better learning tool for both digital and real drawing.
Lol. Watching this on my 2020 Kamvas 13 which I got because of your review. Thank you so much. It has been a joy to own and use
How long have you been using it?
@@JuliaFliess got it for Christmas so about 2 weeks-ish
@@pebble24 That was an awesome gift you got! :)
The glove dance was epic
QUESTION:
Dose it work well with Photoshop?
any lag?
@Brad Colbowl
So super hit and cool content bro
can i flip it around? im left handed so it would be hard for me to work with the buttons
I just bought it... Hope is good..
Can you make a video where you rank all the Kamvas’s? Also is the Kamvas 13 too small? Because it is larger than the HS610 which you said was perfect, but for the Kamvas 13, you said it was cumbersome
i want to learn how to draw digitally.. there is a link to your course in the discription but i dont know which to choose.. pls explain which course to take up and i want to draw on a drawing tablet (non screen).. pls suggest the course and pls suggest which non screen drawing tablet is good. (under $100). tkx sir
Whoah, this is nice!
Great news!!!!! Huion NOW HAS A 16" 4K Pen Display!!! FINALLY!!!
Brad, can you do a review on bosto 16hd touch
You are awesome
For the most part it looked as though parallax wasn't a problem. However at 6:42 there seemed to be considerable lag. Do you find that lag is more prominent when working with some brushes?
Normal XP-Pen Artist 12 has the best pen - but it wasn't laminated and the pen was shaped like a large pencil, which can hurt some people's hands. It's still available at 199
I had it. I Wonder all this years, if one of the newer models from Xp and Huion are better, besides Wacom One and Cintiq 16, but no one knows 😞
@@alejandroromito Well you're in luck - even though the Pro versions are an upgrade in the screen quality, pretty much everything else is better about the original 12. I got the 13.3 Pro after it, and while the matte texture was nice, it didn't have that same tug to it, despite most reviews saying it would have more resistance. It's really ironic. The pen had less wave as well - no wave in fact. makes you wonder why they changed the internals. The pencil shape isn't for everyone, but the way it was thicker and heavier than a real pencil was great - the eraser on the back was too
@@theinktician so, the pen of the original artist 12 it's better than the pro 13.3?
@@alejandroromito nah if you want the eraser but the pro is like a wacom pen clone so its way better
Do you think this size, 12inch, is enough to use it on videoconferences?
I want to quickly draw diagrams and text while explaining things.
Dance is always awesome... Keep bringing ❤️😎😎💃💃🔥🔥🔥👏👏
You know? I just realized, when it comes to the Android side, I know the programs have touch capability, but you can't use touch on PC, and programs like Clip Studio are the same on either Desktop or Android, so it'd be no different than drawing on PC at that point.
Great video as always, though! ^^
I have had a lot of trouble calibrating the pen to the huion screen, so I just use it as a graphic tablet screen now. Not very happy I paid over $200.00 for this tablet and can't get it to work correctly.
I love these reviews and your videos. I have a question though, I have an old iPad with the apple pencil, but I've been wanting to get into more professional animation and I just can't do that on the iPad. Even with procreate starting to include animation options, it doesn't have enough ram. I don't want to pay the price of the iPad pro, so I've been looking at drawing displays, what would you recommend for a lower budget?
I recommend the Kamvas 16 2021 it’s $400. It’s big enough for you to do professional animation efficiently, If that’s too expensive go with the kamvas 13 2021.
@@thephilosopher5799 Thank you so much, I will make sure to look into those, and see which fits my workspace the best.
Answer if you can. I got this tablet on Christmas. It was working fine at first when I first set it up, but now everytime I connect it, no matter how much I reinstall the device, the driver will just never go through. I have tried with both a labtop and desktop and I'm currently using the three cables. I'm planning on maybe getting a USB-C and USB-C cable, but I'm not sure if that will work.
Another thing to note is that I'm able to use it. The problem is that I would require to look at the computer screen because the screen display never turns on.
Hey brad how u draw backgrounds in Procreate and I need how u draw character
Hi Brad is it possible to change the display orientation to flip landscape? because I am left handed
I prefer slides over buttons,It’s easier to zoom in and out and change brush size
I was waiting for this
I couldn't wait and i just bought the xp pen artist 13 instead
I won one for free from a huion giveaway and im so excited!
i know your using samsung so im not certain its the same but when i use my huawei with the kamvas13 i can either do desktop mode (with touchscreentouchpad) or phone mode .
ive found out when drawing on android using phonemode is easier to work with as i use the phone to pinch zoom rotate etc etc and draw on the screen as both have same view on the screen.
Have you tried using the express buttons on the tablet with the android phone? If so, does it work or no?
The only annoying thing about some tablets that come with built in oens is how small they are. I have the Samsung Galaxy Tab A with S pen and the pen is really small, it can get uncomfortable to hold and can break extremely easily.
I love the glove dance.
Hi I was wondering if you could do a review of the "VABONN VB960" and the drawing apps to go with it please. I wanted to start drawing but I don't know how to work it. Thank you. Ps love your videos
@brad colbow i have just a simple question what should i buy Huion kamvas 12 or xp-pen artist 13 pro.
Does artist 13 pro work with mobile just like kamvas 12?
Please help me
In the Huion ads, actors are outside with the tablet and plug it to a phone with "only" the type c cable without the power cable, this is possible or is just ad trick?
Wondering if should get the xp-pen artist 12 pro pr huion kamvas 13 :^
Been thinking about doing digital art for a long time. Because when i have crazy ideas i try to do it on paper it doesnt work out and i have trouble drawing out my head.
I'm just getting into digital art, and I'm wondering if this is a good starting tablet? Not really planning on doing any super insane masterpieces or anything, just wanna make cartoons on it.
Can you use it without installing any software on the computer?
I need to use it on a laptop where I'm not allowed to install software.
I'm think about buy one this, but, i use a monitor to extend the view of my notebook, if i close de notebook, but, still keeps my HDMI monitor ON, the pen display go OFF like the principal monitor (notebook) too? Or keeping ON with the principal monitor image?
little surprise that the android support on all kamvas series is works with android tv box & dongle
3:10 - ish. Really wish I knew this before I ripped the screen protector off my Kamvas 13. Now I gotta live without one since I can't find one in my country T~T
Cnt u order it online? Or amazon.. Am sure they can ship u one..
I wonder if this one also has the device disconnected bug like on the kamvas 13
I just got a Wacom one, and boy is it great.
I also want to buy that.
I hope i can in future
How is brightness and colours on it?
Is it to small?
PLEASE ANSWER
@@babuska922 The brightness isn't to bright or to dark, the colors look really good, and no its not to small its 13.3 inches. He has a review on his channel which really helped pick it out.
