For even if i bath a 1 year old child in mud the 1 year old will laugh but i know its not water hes bathing in its mud. So u need to grow to understand the character or the movie itself & not laugh at a man splitting in million pieces as i can easily say i find it funny to imagine PSCRAZYPRO blowing in million pieces

    have you guys noticed dr. manhattan's face when dan says "don't even think about it"? even tho he is really stoic we can subtly tell he's showing some remorse, because as time for him moves simultaneously (and he was not suffering the delays caused by the taquions anymore) at that point he knew he had already killed rorschach.

    • @AdrianFahrenheitTepes
      @AdrianFahrenheitTepes 2 года назад +69

      On top of that, he knew that Rorschach would choose to die, Doctor Manhattan doesn’t just see the future, he sees what the future potentially could be, and there, he saw that Rorschach would accept no alternative than to die. Even time froze in the proximity between him and Rorschach before he killed Rorschach.

    The best part of this is in the subtlety, when Rorschach was captured he cried out for the police to give him back his face. He views his two identities as separate much like batman. Walter Kovacs can be manipulated, he can be hurt he can even be killed, but to him Rorschach is immortal. Rorschach cannot be made to feel fear or pain.
    When he intentionally pulls off his mask and hat in the face of death he is doing two things. Firstly he is allowing himself feelings in his last seconds, something that would have been possible if he was Rorschach; he wants to be human and face his death with real human emotions. Secondly he is signaling that Rorschach has gone leaving only Walter behind; in effect he makes sure Jon kills the man Walter and not the 'spirit'/'identity'/'idea' that is Rorschach and so he secures its immortality.

    I think a lot of people miss the point of this scene. Rorschach, who was the most ruthless and brutal of all the heroes, ended up being the most principled, moral and honest of them all. He knew what was done was wrong, and was going to expose them all for it, regardless of the consequences. Yet, in contrast, the remaining Heroes who were supposed to be honourbound and morallly obligated murdered him to hide the truth and sided with the villain. The question posed is what is good or evil, and do the ends justify the means and you have to ask yourself, would you have sided with Rorschach or the others ?

    • @enightc

      doing what is morally right but would end up with millions or billions dead, or do what is morally wrong and end up with years of peace that results in millions or billions alive.
      A good man does what he hated and suffers but knows would save more lives, A selfish man only cares if he can sleep at night
      In this specific case, Rorschach is selfish, he only cared about himself, because he had people like Dr. Manhattan that actually knows the future
      in any other case, the best case scenario is a Question Mark, because no one can really know if sacrificing Millions would save Billions , so in any other case, it would have been an Gamble with a best case scenario, unfortunately in this Movie, we had Cheaters that knew exactly what will happen with the sacrifice of the Millions so the best one to make that decision is an actual God Like Being that makes the decision like a God of who lives and who dies.

Something that Zack Snyder is best at is showing and not telling. Rather than being provided with a detailed story as to what is happening in this moment, we are shown it. Roarshach is completely unable to accept the fact that Vight just murdered billions of people in an attempt to give humanity a target in Manhattan. He can't allow humanity to be bought into the idea of compromising and avoiding their cruel and dangerous natures, because to him, that is the reality of what humanity truly is. And Manhattan understands that despite the fact that what Vight did is horrible, and beyond reprehensible, there's no denying the effectiveness of duping humanity into believing he was responsible for what happened, allowing humanity to focus their attention on coming together rather than falling apart in nuclear Holocaust.

    This is a common theme of well thought out series - "who is right and who is wrong and does sacrificing lives, morality, even humanity justify the means to the outcome"
    Star Wars - Clone Wars uses the similar theme
    Palpatine and the Sith brought about the extinction of the Jedi with a Civil War that ended the Republic and rise of the Empire - under a certain kind of peace.
    Yes, the Sith sacrificed tens of billions of lives throughout the centuries to ensure the destruction of the Jedi - but it also brought an end of a form of government which saw two different planetary and solar system types - Inner and Outer, which the former profited off of the Outer systems. The Empire ended this system - dedicating both Inner and Outer to the Empire instead of whatever was the politically motivated "bribed" the Senate.
    Yes the Empire created weapons of mass destruction and killed billions - but they were possibly in preparation for the Vong invasion that would happen decades later under the New Republic.
    Yes the Sith introduced a galactic civil war -- it brought about more change to the galaxy than the Jedi ever did (by this time they had chosen to do nothing in galactic affairs).
    Almost every single time - I do side with the Sith and believe the Republic and the Jedi needed to go.
    -
    Here, I would hate the lie. I would hate knowing how it came to be. I would hate knowing all those lives were sacrificed under false pretenses.
    Yet - I would allow it to stand.
    It is a common thing the governments do for the common civilian - we do not need to know everything that is right and wrong. Majority only want to live our daily lives. Without the threat of nuclear war.
    If the truth comes out decades later, let it be. Then we can make our own conclusions whether we judge those who made those decisions.
    But if that truth was to sever the needed peace that was brought about a lie, I will ensure that lie remains until it no longer matters in regards to current world affairs.
    Dr. M did the right thing -- sucks it had to be a friend.

      @mrbrown6896 Год назад

      People love to think they have the ability to make hard decisions with lives in the balance. As a retail worker, I've watched people almost have an anxiety attack because they can't choose shampoo.
      Also, Ive said this about the Empire for years. The Empire was right. There was stability and prosperity under Imperial rule. Anyone who has read the old EU knows the Republic, after the fall of the Empire, fell into infighting and never established itself. This left it open to countless wars and in the end more people died because of it. In hindsight, Luke basically helped destroy the galaxy.
