Calm, precise, and knowledgeable… makes me trust you, so I’ll order the kit, that includes the tool, from your website. 👍

@TJBRUTALCUSTOMS lol will definitely be referenced when my brothers fork seals go out. My brother got his first bike this year. So I'm 1 season ahead haha
Zip tie to hang up caliper, check. Also old brake pad, piece of wood between the pads because there WILL be a 'friend' that can't resist pulling on the brake lever whilst it's off the bike!!
I watched multiple videos that did not mention the "oil lock piece" at the base of the fork. I have been searching for how this goes back together, even though it really goes back only one way. But you confirmed it. Thanks for your great videos, good attitude, and knowledge, I appreciate your channel even though I have an 1100! thanks
Duuude, I LOL’d at 21:20, reminded me of the Michael Keaton Batman movie from the 80’s when he gets the batwing. Great video man, you’re selling me on a Honda Shadow!

TJBRUTALCUSTOMS you’re hilarious too. Hahaha this a great video. I just recently picked up a Honda shadow vt600 and will be ordering a bunch of parts from you for my bobber build. Super stoked to get started!
Brilliant video man I have a 05 vlx600 single carb model and I’ve got a set of 8” over tubes to extend my front end they are Harley sportster tubes though? Will they still work? as I did some research and found they are the same diameter both as the shadow forks
I like your customs I have your back draft and velocity stacks plus coolant just wondering if the 750 Ace will get a bad ass springer or is there no way for one to work on a 750 ?
the fork spacer you installed seems to be the close to the exact length of the stock fork spacers. since you installed 6over tubes don’t you need to have a fork spacer that is 6 inches over the stock spacer in order to get the proper preload on the spring and similar rebound and compression as stock?
Hey man having a problem with throttle sticking put grease in cables cleaned carb but still sticks and thought on the matter my horse is a 2000 shadow 1100

Hey bud I have a 1997 Honda shadow that’s shaft driven. Where can I get the 6” longer forks I’ve looked on plenty of sites and have failed to find any that sell them
Good breakdown of how to do this. I wonder if its easier to just buy new ones. More expensive but if you don't have grave space or time then buying new o as direct from Honda may be my way to go. My 02 Shadow so far seems good but I can see having to do this in a year or so.
Bro! Thanks for the video.. 2006 Honda Shadow Aero. I’m mechanically inclined but never have worked on bike. You think I can change head gasket, rings and front bearings with just socket set and the usual large set of screw drivers and pliers?
During assembly you said to put the tighter wound end of the spring down. But the service manul says to put the tapered end up. My question is is the tightly wound end of the spring considered there tapped end or does some springs have a smaller diameter on one end
I should add, the reason I ask is because while doing my fork seals on the shadow I just got. One fork spring had the tight end up and the other had the tight end of the spring down
Hello, I am French and I can not find the tools you have made that allows to lock the fork inside to remove the screw at the end. could you give me the dimensions please? and thank you again for all your tutorials !!!! they are really nice !!
I got around that by putting my forks back in the triple tree, with the springs still inside and caps on, letting the triple tree hold the fork as i removed the bottom bolt in the dampener. The spring holds everything inside under pressure so the bolt has something to be removed from otherwise it just turns everything in there.
Really cool tutorial, can I ask you something , you said if I put a half pvc tube my fork will low , can I do this without remove the fork from the bike?
Well i made that 24mm tool and tried to take my fork apart. No way! That nut i tig welded onto each end of the rod is 24 mm but it fits into nothing down inside the fork. Any idea why?
@@TJBRUTALCUSTOMS I would already have a machined, factory part. While it is inexpensive, I don't have any PVC, in the proper I.D. or O. D. readily available . Lastly, I am not a mechanic. I was asking a legitimate question, however I should have been more specific. What, if any, is the advantage of using PVC as opposed to factory fitted tubing ?
I've learned alot from your videos but I have one question. I'm doing away with my switches on my handlebars and want to still have high beam and low beam. Is there a way to do this
What do you mean by "Don't ever have fun while you work?" You have me laughing my ass off while you have fun while you're working and teaching at the same time. As for harbor Freight torque wrenches. At my last job, we had to have our tools checked for accuracy in the quality department. I brought my Harbor Freight torque wrench, that I have at home, in to have it tested. It was dead on accurate.
I had to playback a few minutes from the end of this video because I couldn't believe what I was seeing on the final assembly of the fork tube - Did anyone else notice the fact that he was able to just screw on the fork tube cap without having to fight compressing the spring extension ? That spring spacer was too short for the extended length of the fork tube ! Any time you get extended fork tubes you get the corresponding fork tube extension or make one to compensate for the added length of the tube - without having the proper spacer there's no pre-load on the spring ! That's why he was able to just push up the lower leg effortlessly with his hand because there was no tension on that spring at all when he was putting the axle shaft through the wheel ! Those fork tubes are probably bottomed out in the fork leg with the lower rebound spring on the damper just bouncing around inside the fork tube. He even cautioned viewers that there's gonna be tension from the spring when you take the fork tube cap off ! This guy builds bikes and it didn't even dawn on him that something ain't right when you can just screw the cap on an assembled fork tube - I've had to fight with hundreds of fork tubes, stock ,shortened and extended off the bike and anyone that has done it know's the tube is always gonna creep down into the leg so you have to hold the tube up with on hand while pushing the spring and cap down and twist them together while your hands are oil soaked and hope you caught enough threads so it holds long enough to put a wrench on it to tighten it down before the cap fly's off and goes sailing across the garage ! If this guy builds bikes like this I'd be pretty hesitant on riding those bikes.
Bro missed a couple important steps, such as which way the seals go, and about the bushing, spacer seal sequence. Other than that it was a solid tutorial.
