  • On my second day of riding the regenerative brake on my Apollo City Pro turned on without warning and stayed on. After walking the scooter home I contacted support and was able to resolve the issue.
    So if you have the same issue where the brake won't turn off then this might be the solution on how to fix it. Loosen the brake handles and give them a wiggle.

    When i first assembled my city pro, i adjusted the loose brake levers to an angle i thought i’d be comfortable with. Apparently, doing so, i broke some internal cable. Luckily, the scooter was still under warrantee being new. But i had no prior knowledge there was a risk. So take care moving a loosened brake lever up and down.

      this same thing happened to me. That cable is wound super tight for the brake lever sensor wire. What did you do to repair yours?

      @@jc51373 i wrote apollo. Sent a video of the of the problem. The problem was the return spring wasn’t strong enough, so it was sticking. They fixed the problem at about apollo center. Later i replaced the entire handlebar which included other improvements. You might want to get the replacement handlebar with all improvements. But be careful not to pinch wires in the installation.

      @@yanassi Thanks! Yeah I have been chomping at the bit for the new 2023 version handlebars but they are backordered. Supposed to be in stock in Mid June. Fingers crossed I get a set because they've sent me two sets of 2022 replacements both have had issues. Awful design on Apollos part.

      @@jc51373 i let apollo do the original brake cable fix. The brake cables are in an internal slot in the handlebars, any twisting to adjust the levers could brake the cables. With the replacement handlebars, i didn’t do anything with the brake cabling. I just replaced the entire handlebar. After connecting the wires that entered the headtube, i bolted on the handlebar.

    *Outstanding Apollo Info!!!* I love mine very much. Its classy all the way! I do have a quick question. Not much help with support yet but my Apollo Go 2024 wont turn off. When I turn it off it turns back on in a few seconds. Only way I can turn it off is by leaving charger plugged in all the time and that is not good for the battery. I reached out to support but no help yet. I cant afford to send in for repair warranty as shipping to and from will be well over $140 plus weeks without my scooter. And no local repairs where Iam at. I am very handy at fixing scooters and have reviewed all the great Apollo Go repair tutorials on Apollo channel. Please any help to get my Apollo to stay turned of would be awesome and I can repair it. Thanks!🙂🙂🙂

    In case any desperate people look here. A lot of scooter's e brakes have a sensor in the under part of handle bars, and if you hit a bump hard enough, the magnet can get dislodged from the glue.
    BTW, The magnet Needs to go back in the way they had it. If it gets put in backwards or upside down it'll have wrong polarity for sensor and you'll have issues like brakes being locked when handle is open and closed, but unlocked when in middle of handle squeeze. 😅 gl 😊

    Had the same issue, same solution. I thought the new generic throttles were the cause, but you have the new Apollo throttles (jealous since your brake levers can be mounted more ergonomically on the outside).
    I have been riding and adjusting the positions and haven’t had a mid ride issue.

  • @Adis813
    @Adis813 Год назад +3

    Hey the reason that you're having that issue is because they have you the old throttle model... they were supposedly change those throttle but I clearly can see that they didn't

      They are slightly different. Apparently these are "New" ones are differentiated by the letter L or R in the moulding. though they appear to be the same. That's what they said at least. R7 model I believe.

    Hello Nic i watched all your videos and you are amazing! I ordered my apollo city pro 2022 and its arriving on friday. I have been watching videos and reading comments and oh lord i am not sure that i made the right choice…i still have the option to refuse the delivery and get my money back. Do you think they fixed the issues? Or do you suggest i just get another scooter. Were talking about 2k here and i am not a rich 😢. Thank you in advance!

      No I didn't fall thankfully. The scooter acted as if I applied the regen brake at full strength and eventually came to a full stop. I lurched forward but didn't go over the handlebars.
