I got the 12 mini, and I’m just so happy with it. Relearning how to type on a smaller screen but after 3 years on a 7 plus I’m really appreciating the smaller form factor. My hands have cramped up so bad after wrangling that old slab of mine and the mini has just made everything better. I don’t even feel a need to use a case or pop socket for this thing! The iPhone 4/4s was my favorite design over all especially because of the size , I’ve been hoping for something similar but with new advanced specs ..... and here it it 😍
Decided to go from 7 to 12 pro after seeing it in person at the store. The screen is a nice size and seems to be a worthwhile upgrade with 4 years of technology improvements (face id, larger screen, wireless charging, lidar, faster charging, more durable glass, ip68 rating, triple camera, night shots, portrait modes, a14 bionic, improved video, etc.). Next upgrade in 4-6 years.
If they make an iPhone 12 Pro Mini, I’d buy it in a heartbeat. Edit: I keep getting comments saying “the difference is just the camera”. Facts: on top of the steel frame and zoom lens, the 12 Pro has 6GB RAM, LIDAR sensor, night mode portrait, ProRAW format, 60 FPS HDR, and starts at 128 GB storage. When you buy unlocked the 128 GB iPhone 12 is $879, so the price difference is $120. The zoom lens and the extra RAM alone is worth $120. A 12 Mini with pro features should be about the same price as the 12. I would definitely buy it.

I've recently changed from an 8+ to the iPhone Mini. Delighted with my decision. There is something really special about the size and form factor. To me.....late sixties, large hands....it feels just perfect. There is something rather special about the size that I really love.
I upgraded to the 12 mini from the OG iPhone SE. I went to the Apple Store nearest to me to see them both in person and get a feel for the different sizes. Once I held the mini and picked up the regular 12 after I knew which one I preferred. The mini feels like my SE but on steroids with the latest hardware. I got the 12 mini 128 GB in Blue and am absolutely loving it so far!
Are you happy with it for photo/video needs? That, and reading, are the only two reasons i’m waffling between 12 mini and 12. Have the mini but didn’t get to put a 12 in my hands.
@@emmettgallagher6090 I find it fine. Maybe because I was already used to the tiny screen on the SE 1 that I don’t find reading on the mini to be too difficult. Same thing happened with me. I went to the Apple Store with the intention of buying an iPhone 13, and as soon as I held the 13 mini, the difference in comfort was astounding, I went with the mini and am glad I did.
Great comparison video. Picked up the mini, very happy haven’t looked back. Battery life is good if you’re not doing tons of video or games, and feels great. Glad Apple made a smaller phone without compromising features.
One the best compact flagships out in the market. I picked up my 12 mini from Wal-Mart as a refurbished piece from the OG iPhone SE 2020. Few nicks here and there but absolutely love the form factor. Nails it in that department.
I went with the 12 mini but with hindsight I wish I had gone for the 12 for one simple reason. I miss having a real dual sim phone and with the 12 I can change out the sim reader for a dual one (same as fitted to the Hong Kong and Chinese version) very easily. However the sim reader on the 12 mini is soldered to the motherboard which makes it a very different story to change :(

Simple answer : easier to start the app when it’s in a corner or on the side when you use your phone right handed. I guess that it’s one of his most used app on that screen :) Also I may add that his most used apps are in the bottom of the screen and in the last row of each page. Again easier to start a app on the lower side of the screen when the phone is used with only one hand. Am I right Aaron ?
For me this was kinda a tough choice but I chose the mini. I did like the 12 better due to that 1 hour higher battery life, it’s not much of a difference but can help out in some situations. I ended up with the mini though because my hands are small and I don’t need anything big
I feel like the notch blends in a lot better on the mini than on the larger iPhones. There isn’t much screen around the notch, only enough to display the battery, signal strength, and time, with no space left. Therefore, the notch somewhat looks like it “belongs”, whereas the other iPhones, it just doesn’t look right.
Some day, after my current iPhone X breaks or the battery gets old again, I’m definitely going to get myself the 12 Mini! I love smaller phones and this one has just the perfect size for my hands 🙌🏼

@@daniielllll975 to be honest, if you can get the iPhone 11, you should get the iPhone 12. Yeah it’s 200$ more but that’s a lot of features you’re getting and this investment will last you at least 5 years and even though 5G is very bad now, it’s guaranteed to be good in 2-4 years(your phone will be good then too) the iPhone 12 mini has similar battery life to the iPhone XR which is what I’m using now and for a 7-8 hour user like me it gets me through the day at 89% battery health.
Aaron thanks for the valuable information, I have an pixel 4a and iPhone 12 mini in stealthy black, the black one gives a vintage look like iPhone 5 slate black sides, Amazing👌
I went with the Mini and I’m holding on to my SE 2020 & my SE 2016... all backup phones... the best phone I’ve ever owned is the I Phone SE 1st Gen... that phone lasted 4 years on the same battery and I just the battery replaced in early March and it’s running 13.7 flawlessly. I’m going to leave it on 13.7 and just keep updating the SE 2020 & the 12 Mini...Now if we can get an OS that ran like iOS 6 did we’d all be in excellent shape!
I had (and still have) an iPhone 6s Plus for like 2 years now, and finally I’m so glad they came out with a really cool looking smaller phone. I could never fit my phone into my pockets and it got really annoying.
The mini is far too small for me. I loved my first generation iPhone SE, until I bumped it up to the 10 XS which is a nice phone. Then comes iOS14 and iphone 12... very nice usability wrapped up in that flattened edge style, a 6.1 inch display - yet the overall size is barely bigger then my 10 was, lighter weight, not to mention the videography/cameras, plus a list of cool functions/extras... there's no comparison for me at this time. After using my 12 for about a month I just was able to test out an iPhone mini in person. Fun, but again the screen is too small for me now... the print too small for my older eyes I guess:). I also found that I still had to juggle the phone a bit to really reach the entire screen. Enjoy whatever you end up getting... iPhone makes a great product.
To be honest, If I had to pick one, I'd choose the 12 mini because of its unique small size, I mean, there's no other phone that is that small and powerful at the same time. So I'll try to save some money this year to buy it.
I got my iPhone mini last night and the battery life was much poorer than expected; I only have about 20 apps, turned off 5G, turned on WiFi, turned off cellular data for apps not being used. I tested out the camera and configured the phone to my liking, and the battery went far too quickly. If available at my local Verizon store, I'll be returning the mini for a regular iPhone 12.
Many thanks for the informative and excellent reviews. I have recently moved from an IPhone SE (2gen) to a iPhone 12 - regular size in blue with 256G. Perfect phone -for this next year anyway.

My basic decision is I have an iPad Pro and I do all of my video work on that. Then I can use the Mini with one hand and it works great. I am willing to make the compromise. My assistant has the Max, but doesn’t regularly use the iPad for video so I think that is the decision. At least it was for me. Good luck.
@@JeffEdbergVideo ohh ok yea. The max is way too big for me I can barley settle with the 12. I wish the mini was a little bit bigger it would have worked out that way but oh well.

Have the mini and it’s pretty impressive last all day
May I know your average screen on time with this Mini?

@@thatwaver8309 the SE isn’t that bad. You guys use your phones for 9 hours.
@@DanielQwerty i like small phones so i got the se and it has annoying little bugs ... i’m tired of it and don’t know if i should buy the mini , 12, or even the 11 for the price
Thank you so much! I was so stuck on which iPhone to get and now it’s so much easier to understand the difference!
I thought the mini was supposed to be small until I went to the store and was surprised to find it was reasonably sized and in no way ‘mini’.
12 mini is great battery isn’t bad lasted me all day.
The standard norm these days is at least 5000mAh i.e 2-3 days. Iphone… a whole DAY without charging, I only charge before bed! 😂
I still don’t understand why so many battery life issues because I never had any issues with battery life
Hey i saw your comment on the tech chaps interview with apple people
I picked the iPhone 12 mini this year because its the same as the 12 just smaller and is perfect for me.
I picked up a 12 Pro 128GB silver. It is my first iPhone ever. Tough decision as I was liking the Mini and 12 a lot.
Nice choice! 12 pro is better for 1st iphone user
The 12 and 12 pro are the same size
So comprehensive and unbiased. Thank you
Aaron thanks for the valuable information, I have an pixel 4a and iPhone 12 mini in stealthy black, the black one gives a vintage look like iPhone 5 slate black sides, Amazing👌
I got the IPhone 12 Mini, Blue, 64bg, upgraded from iPhone 7, honestly it’s the best phone I’ve ever had
When I got my 12 it seemed small compared to my 6s plus. But I’m getting used to it.
Can i ask how’s the screen so far? Bc im upgrading from the 6s plus to the 12 too
I had the same feeling with my iphone 8 plus lol
I went with the Mini and I’m holding on to my SE 2020 & my SE 2016... all backup phones... the best phone I’ve ever owned is the I Phone SE 1st Gen... that phone lasted 4 years on the same battery and I just the battery replaced in early March and it’s running 13.7 flawlessly. I’m going to leave it on 13.7 and just keep updating the SE 2020 & the 12 Mini...Now if we can get an OS that ran like iOS 6 did we’d all be in excellent shape!
I think other than the screen size it's the battery life that would influence your decision-making
The battery life isn’t bad on the mini for casual users
Great video !! I have the same green I phone 12 mini instead of the I phone 12. This video was very helpful. Many thanks.
I had (and still have) an iPhone 6s Plus for like 2 years now, and finally I’m so glad they came out with a really cool looking smaller phone. I could never fit my phone into my pockets and it got really annoying.
The 12 mini?
Very informative video, thank you for helping me to decide which to get!
White mini for me it is! I love black but the back’s gonna be a fingerprint magnet.
To be honest, If I had to pick one, I'd choose the 12 mini because of its unique small size, I mean, there's no other phone that is that small and powerful at the same time. So I'll try to save some money this year to buy it.
i’m upgrading from an iphone 7 to an iphone 12 in red. i ordered it yesterday and i cant wait to get it
how is the size difference compaired with the 7? you like it
12 Mini , I waited for this size since iPhone 5
I’m still using an iPhone 5 and I’m still trying to decide if I should go with the 12 mini
Could we get a comparison of the SE 2020 and iPhone Mini?
Thank you so much, for this type of video
Many thanks for the informative and excellent reviews. I have recently moved from an IPhone SE (2gen) to a iPhone 12 - regular size in blue with 256G. Perfect phone -for this next year anyway.
iPhone 12 mini 100%
Isn't the 12 mini speakers worse than pretty much every other non mini face I'd iphone
@hasubhanwatandost6083 agreed because I have bought the mini and I regret it
Much appreciate you brother...... great tech reviews 👍
I going for the mini awesome video it helped me decide which I will get
Always my favorite youtuber hehehe!
I'm planning on getting the iPhone 12 mini this summer because I have small hands and I also want it to fit in my pocket. Thanks for the video!
Mini in blue and 256k. I am hoping the text is large enough with my old eyes!
Even my young eyes it’s too small so do tell how it is with you
@@chinopai3412 At first it was a no go, but I went into the setup for special needs and increased the text size and it’s perfect. I do like the size and the battery life is fine for me. I don’t do gaming or RUclips on the phone. I threw the box away and am keeping it!
@@JeffEdbergVideo ohh ok yes RUclips is what got me. It was too small on some videos felt like I was watching on an 8. I tried the text thing too but some apps don’t change the text size it still stays the same so it makes that kind of weird as well.
Great video, love from India ❤️
The black iphone with brown leather case looks stunning! 😍 Great videos btw! Keep it up!👍🏻
The mini doesn’t have the LiDAR scanner for night mode portraits, faster autofocusing in low light or for better AR experiences! This is why I’m getting the 12 pro instead.
Hi Aaron, thanks for granting my request..video was very good..please do a battery drain test between all iPhone 12 models...
I bought 12mini 256gb Blue.
I picked up 12 mini blue 128 gigs battery for me is right around 8.5 hours with 10 percent left but I’m a heavy phone user it’s great so far
I first chose iPhone 12 mini but after 12 hours of use, felt regret. Immediately exchanged the phone with nominal loss and purchased iPhone 12 (now calling iPhone 12 as no-regret phone).
Ordered a 12 mini, blue, 128 storage to replace my aging SE 1st gen. Scheduled to be delivered 1/6/21, can’t wait.
Nice camera work
Damn!
I have the iphone 12 mini and I dont regret it.
Thank you so much for this video. Guess I already made a right choice by choosing the 12 mini😁
Great video, I really like the mini.
Are you planning on making an android 11 november security update video? I loved those ones
i honestly don't know why i am watching this but i really like the 12, hope the price drops next year so i can get one
The mint color is beautiful!
It really is!
I'm expecting the iPhone 12 mini going to be my favorite phone of all time. And I've been using smartphones since 2008.
Dukeman it’s the best
That’s what I have right now
