Waiting to see if the camera upgrade and better battery life on iPhone 12 Pro Max is worth the $100 more over the iPhone 12 Pro. Keeping in mind that i need to get a power brick and a magsafe charger.
I’m at t mobile and I due for an upgrade currently using the 8 plus. I somewhat tech savy I build my own computer and I would like to final experience better picture and have 4K60 FPS like my video goes. You pretty much almost convince not to get the pro I thought there was more too it honestly the RAM difference how big is a difference is it really? It’s either 12 or 12 pro max is out of the question

the only thing that saved the 12 pro is the bigger ram and storage, and size compared to the 12 pro max. otherwise if the normal 12 had the same ram and storage as the 12 pro. the 12 would be better value.

I think they are losing their charm,back in the days they used to be the pioneers of cell phones and their phones release was very much waited for, but nowadays they release too many different phones close to each other which are basically identical to the old ones and do exactly the same old things that other phones been doing for a long years, no innovation whatsoever, at this point people buy iPhones just because they are familiar with them and they aren’t ready to try other phones so they stay loyal but there isn’t anything special about them really 🤷🏽♀️ speaking from a die hard iPhone user since 2009
Samsung does it better. They really stop updating your phone after 2 years and it starts being glitchy so you gotta buy a new one. You can stick to an iPhone for at least 5 years
I also got an iPhone 6, but the 64GB version. After 4 years I just checked my storage and I've only used about 32GB. I definitely dont take many pictures. But yeah, 16GB was never worth it.
I am going to sit this one out. I love the new design of the iPhone 12 series, but I have a two year old iPhone X that still looks and works as good as it did when I first got it. The build quality of apple products is amazing

Want mini with Max’s cameras. I have fairly large hands and still hate the size increase when I got the XS. Great for watching video, not great for dropping every 5 minutes
@@eal04 smaller, yes. XS, 11 and 12 are obnoxiously large. If it doesn’t fit in a chest pocket of a typical active jacket, it’s too big. It’s not just about hands
Max is just too big for me, and if I wanted a better camera would’ve just gone with Huawei or Samsung’s flagships. However I do like the fact the Pro model come with the extra ram and LiDAR function over the standard 12. I guess I am that niche pocket of people that fill the Pro gap.

I just ordered iPhone 12 to replaxe my iPhone 5s. 🤗 The 5s is still useable but have been using it since 2013 I think it's literally time to change time. 💀
it's just simple, if you are not gamer and photographer just stick with iPhone 12, if you don't care about battery and love small size go for 12 mini. i was going to go for iPhone 12 before the presentation but while presentation I have changed my mind to pro max because the reasons are camare, battery and RAM 6 for gaming, because i play daily at least 4-6 hours. i think i helped you to figure out what to buy 😂
I’m one of the people that voted iPhone 12 Pro. I’ve always used the big iPhones but after developing some painful issues in my hands I’m finding my current Max a pain to use 😉. For my usage 4gb of ram doesn’t cut it anymore, the 6gb will be a relief. I’ll be disappointed if the Pros don’t come with more ram. I use the telephoto lens more than the wide and thankfully all of the lenses see an improvement just not nearly as much as the Pro Max. Great video and much appreciated
Yeah, I am going to buy the max too, the telephoto lens is mainly what interests me as I like to take photos of fauna and flora. I am also hoping for much improved network and wifi reception compared to my current Galaxy Note 10+ I also like the large screen for everyday use. I am however VERY disappointed that they didn’t use a USB C port on the phone itself, currently I switch the charging cable between my phone (note 10+) and my IPad Pro which both use USB C which is super convenient but because the new phone still uses the old lightning port I will have to plug it in elsewhere as I don’t have a spare PowerPoint next to my bed where I usually charge and use my phone and iPad. It also means I will have to buy the new power brick just to charge the phone.
Same. Pro Max looks big and I want to try apples phone for first time. But after finishing the videos. Should i really goes for pro max. Camera features looks amusing but i dont know if i can fully use of it.
@@akukuat101 it depends what aspects most interest you, in the case of the Max, if you value the slightly better quality cameras and the larger screen and you are happy to spend the extra money or not. If not then perhaps one of the other models would better suit what you are after.
Love the IPhone 12 Pro Max features EXCEPT the size. I’m a tall guy with large hands but I can’t imagine it being comfortable to carry in my pockets. I still have the IPhone X and think that size is perfect👌🏽

i don't think that should hinder yo from getting it unless you do not have a phone at all and need one urgently. the releases are just a few weeks apart
I'm 6' 4" 280 Lbs and have very large hands. I need the largest screen size possible and will be getting the Pro Max. I think you left this aspect out. Although I loved all your information. Thank You. Time to move on from my iPhone 6 Plus.
Thank you for more informative, quality content :-) Was fascinated to hear you say that the flat sides should be around for the next few years... why did Apple ever get rid of them in favour of rounded-off edges? I still consider the appearance of my 2010 iPad and iPhones 4/5, all with practical flat sides, far more industrially beautiful than the loads of slippery round edged devices that followed. I guess though there are ‘round-edgers’ out there equally committed as I am to the squared-off? Also, great advice re cases, chargers and MagSafe :-) and you helped me decide to wait for the 12 Pro Max :-)
Don’t ever make mistake number 10 there is some stuff that definitely needs to be bought from apple but things like chargers and adapters or other accessories all have apple tax and can tend to be overpriced but if your looking for reliability then apple can be the way to go but get ready to pay the extra bucks
Not really, I’ve always found the Apple power cables to be too short and damage quickly near the port itself, it’s not a quality cable, if it was it would have a fabric sleeve to prevent damage. The new wireless charger only has a 1 meter cable and it’s not detachable, you also have to buy the power brick to go with it at additional expense.
I thought I was all set to upgrade from my Iphone 8 plus to an iohone 12pro mostly for size) and now I'm thinking the regular iphone 12 is more cost effective. Thanks so much for this video. It was a lot to digest but it definitely gave me more to think about.

This is a lot of comments to read lol I have never seen a video from you before but compared to others I’ve seen it was extremely informative ty so much. I have an iPhone 7 Plus red. They are always offering me a new phone but mine is paid for. My service is through T-mobile. I have been considering upgrading. I cater and take videos and pictures of food all the time so a better camera no doubt would be better advertisement as I don’t always feel my pictures do justice seems like with everything I know and feel based on what you said the iPhone 12 max pro would be the best option however iamb really back-and-forth on whether or not I want to get 128 GB or if I want to go above that just because I have a lot of apps a lot of pictures and videos I like to be able to access things instead of waiting or transferring elsewhere. I pay extra monthly for extra storage . I don’t know if it’s worth it. To go above 128 gb HELP LOL. Also I don’t know if this is a silly question not my strong suit but I buy a lot of songs from iTunes does that take up storage on me phone?
I have an iPhone 7 at the moment and want to upgrade. I am trying to decide between the 12 and 12 Pro. I need 128GB because I take a lot of photos and videos and there is only a £150 difference then. So would the Pro be worth it? Because if I can spend £1000 now, then it would be worth waiting for the 13 Pro with Pro Motion. But I also don't want to spend £1000 on a phone. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
One of your points for getting the Pro Max was the LiDAR scanner, but I think the 12 Pro also has that feature - not exclusive to Max. So it seems the only step up with Max is the camera, the (rumored) RAM, and larger size and battery. I'm really torn because I'm used to knowing I have the best (apple) camera with a Pro model but do not like the larger width in the palm of my hand. This is the first time I feel like I'd be missing out by not getting a Max :/
The flat edge isn’t even a new design... I’m pretty happy with my XS at the moment, it’ll sustain me for years to come, will just wait till the next real revolutionary design change to upgrade 🙂

But after playing with the latter yesterday at the apple store, I realized the screen so huge even though the whole thing is just the same size. The size of the 11 pro was just right for me. I’m gonna get the 12 Pro, but if the pro comes in mini size I would have bought that instead. I came from 7 last year to 11 Pro, and I miss the compact size that slips easily into my pocket.
Only difference is in battery life. I’m getting the mini because it’s the closet in size as my iPhone 8 and the battery isn’t that bad. I use my phone all day. It still lasts almost an entire work day. That’s enough. If not you either work on your phone or you use it too much.
On apples website, the 13’ macbook pro ships in 2-3 weeks while the air ships in 5-7 days. Maybe apple silicon shipping in 2-3 weeks? Edit: 1: i mean the lower end pro 2: the pro isn’t in stores either (in most countries) 3: the higher end ships in 1-2 weeks so thats also sus
i think i’m going 12 pro, the maxes are way to big. the difference in RAM is the deal breaker. internal storage will be @ least 128 gb. but that lidar scanner is must in my biz. it’s worth the extra $200 or so for that upgrade. the sides, well everyone has a case, so the “feel” not really decision. i’d go w/ the 12 but the camara & RAM make the pro my pick. also, this is the 1st iphone since the X to not look like the X!! 🤣

That was really super helpful .. I still think I will go for the 12Pro … although it seems to be the least popular solution. But one of the reasons why I am switching is that I love to take pictures and I am not carrying my camera with me anymore, because the pictures that even my old iPhone Xs take are amazing. So is it worth taking the 12 Pro instead of the 12 because of the camera?
Ram is important for me to future proof the device for app/software updates. If it is 2gb more than the reg 12 then I will buy it. Cause base storage is 128gb also. Pro max is going to be too huge and heavy. I already have an iPad Pro which I watch most of my media off of anyways to conserve battery life on my iPhone.
Same situation here. I want to try some "Pro" functions, but not worth to have a big phone and will cause me easily drop my phone. And I have the iPad Pro for watching videos. Big screen size is somehow a turn off for me to Pro Max.
You can tell all he cares about is them making money like he just keeps saying it’s worth more money and I have a 11pro max with 11,000 photos 200 apps and no problem with the 64 gig non of his shit makes sense
fr i dont know what he is talking about, if you take a lot of pictures you can also pay for your icloud in case you need more storage, that way you have a back up, lots of space and your phone works fine
Well if you offload unused apps or don’t download and keep the original photos it might work but that’s annoying and not everyone is willing to compromise a seamless fully fledged experience like you do
No one cares about apple making money here, it’s just really good value period. $50 for that kind of storage increase makes too much sense, even if you won’t use it you can sell it later for a better price than base storage
Interesting. I was thinking the same, but noted that I have used 118gig on my X 256gig phone. I do have music and tons of podcasts and books though, so if you only use your phone for streaming and selfies I guess 64gig is enough. Do you know how much of your 64gig you have left?

I have the 11 Pro Max and I’m on the apple upgrade program with a little over $650 left. So I’ve been thinking of updating to either the 12Pro (i’m hesitant now after watching your video though) or the 12ProMax, but the mini seems so well balanced too!
One more reason to avoid the pro this year, the pro max is huge it is like a minitablet in your pocket, and the standard pro does not get the best camera, happy I got the 11 pro, will wait for the pro with 120hz
I bought the 12 Mini because it has the perfect size. I really don’t miss the 6 to 8 size or even more the almost iPads XR, 11 and 12. I’m pretty happy that I can use it with one hand only.

I have the iPhone 7 and I was thinking of getting the mini because it is smaller and I figured it would be easier for me to hold than the 12. Also to fit in my jeans pockets since they make woman's pockets so small. I am having battery life problems now with my 7. So hmmm now I'm not sure which iphone I should get.
Not only “is the max version too big for your hands,” but also “is it too big for your pockets.” I work in the field, and I used to have the 7 plus. It fit really nice in my have, but I got really tired of having that big of a phone in my pocket. I want the 12 pro max so bad, but I’m afraid about how it’ll fit in my pocket....
when you're scared of not being able to charge your phone while holding it in your hand, cable exist. its' free, faster and no different from a magnetic charger that sticks to a phone aside from the position of the cable. Also 7.5 watts is super slow but 15W with the efficiency of wireless charging will still newer win a race, the small battery in this case helps a lot
Honestly it’s a waste of money. I feel like they just wanted to rush another phone to make money but it’s basically the same as 11 kinda. They didn’t put a lot of idea into the new phone
The 12 is suppose to be an S series. Like the 5s or 6s, that gave few improvements from the regular 5 and 6. Every 2 years apple change Thier design. So when the 13 came out it’s going to be a different design
I had an SE, it was heavy and never seemed to work right. Love my mini, it works well and is easy to hold. Has better battery longevity than the SE. But I don’t use my iPhone for much.
iPhone 12 is the best iPhone to drop in my opinion. I think the aluminum is better than the stainless steel and you can save that extra $170 at least for me the 64 gb is enough because I don't take that many pictures. I just use my phone for Snapchat, instagram, music, and podcasts and the occasional Disney plus or RUclips. I have the Xr and was considering upgrading to the iPhone 12 but I think it might be smart to just save my cash and wait for the 12 to be cheaper when the 13 drops
My oneplus 7 pro is keeping me from upgrading to apple 8gb ram 256gb 90hz no notch. Fast charger . Amoled display . And it's a year old . Only jelly of the camera

Why didn't they add the Touch ID to the Power button like they did for the iPad Air? Touch ID is key during these masking times.

Max is just too big for me, and if I wanted a better camera would’ve just gone with Huawei or Samsung’s flagships. However I do like the fact the Pro model come with the extra ram and LiDAR function over the standard 12. I guess I am that niche pocket of people that fill the Pro gap.

it's just simple, if you are not gamer and photographer just stick with iPhone 12, if you don't care about battery and love small size go for 12 mini. i was going to go for iPhone 12 before the presentation but while presentation I have changed my mind to pro max because the reasons are camare, battery and RAM 6 for gaming, because i play daily at least 4-6 hours. i think i helped you to figure out what to buy 😂

I’m one of the people that voted iPhone 12 Pro. I’ve always used the big iPhones but after developing some painful issues in my hands I’m finding my current Max a pain to use 😉. For my usage 4gb of ram doesn’t cut it anymore, the 6gb will be a relief. I’ll be disappointed if the Pros don’t come with more ram. I use the telephoto lens more than the wide and thankfully all of the lenses see an improvement just not nearly as much as the Pro Max. Great video and much appreciated

Yeah, I am going to buy the max too, the telephoto lens is mainly what interests me as I like to take photos of fauna and flora. I am also hoping for much improved network and wifi reception compared to my current Galaxy Note 10+ I also like the large screen for everyday use. I am however VERY disappointed that they didn’t use a USB C port on the phone itself, currently I switch the charging cable between my phone (note 10+) and my IPad Pro which both use USB C which is super convenient but because the new phone still uses the old lightning port I will have to plug it in elsewhere as I don’t have a spare PowerPoint next to my bed where I usually charge and use my phone and iPad. It also means I will have to buy the new power brick just to charge the phone.

@@akukuat101 it depends what aspects most interest you, in the case of the Max, if you value the slightly better quality cameras and the larger screen and you are happy to spend the extra money or not. If not then perhaps one of the other models would better suit what you are after.
Love the IPhone 12 Pro Max features EXCEPT the size. I’m a tall guy with large hands but I can’t imagine it being comfortable to carry in my pockets. I still have the IPhone X and think that size is perfect👌🏽

Don’t ever make mistake number 10 there is some stuff that definitely needs to be bought from apple but things like chargers and adapters or other accessories all have apple tax and can tend to be overpriced but if your looking for reliability then apple can be the way to go but get ready to pay the extra bucks
Not really, I’ve always found the Apple power cables to be too short and damage quickly near the port itself, it’s not a quality cable, if it was it would have a fabric sleeve to prevent damage. The new wireless charger only has a 1 meter cable and it’s not detachable, you also have to buy the power brick to go with it at additional expense.

They are always offering me a new phone but mine is paid for. My service is through T-mobile. I have been considering upgrading. I cater and take videos and pictures of food all the time so a better camera no doubt would be better advertisement as I don’t always feel my pictures do justice seems like with everything I know and feel based on what you said the iPhone 12 max pro would be the best option however iamb really back-and-forth on whether or not I want to get 128 GB or if I want to go above that just because I have a lot of apps a lot of pictures and videos I like to be able to access things instead of waiting or transferring elsewhere. I pay extra monthly for extra storage . I don’t know if it’s worth it. To go above 128 gb HELP LOL. Also I don’t know if this is a silly question not my strong suit but I buy a lot of songs from iTunes does that take up storage on me phone?

I have an iPhone 7 at the moment and want to upgrade. I am trying to decide between the 12 and 12 Pro. I need 128GB because I take a lot of photos and videos and there is only a £150 difference then. So would the Pro be worth it? Because if I can spend £1000 now, then it would be worth waiting for the 13 Pro with Pro Motion. But I also don't want to spend £1000 on a phone. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
One of your points for getting the Pro Max was the LiDAR scanner, but I think the 12 Pro also has that feature - not exclusive to Max. So it seems the only step up with Max is the camera, the (rumored) RAM, and larger size and battery. I'm really torn because I'm used to knowing I have the best (apple) camera with a Pro model but do not like the larger width in the palm of my hand. This is the first time I feel like I'd be missing out by not getting a Max :/
The flat edge isn’t even a new design... I’m pretty happy with my XS at the moment, it’ll sustain me for years to come, will just wait till the next real revolutionary design change to upgrade 🙂

But after playing with the latter yesterday at the apple store, I realized the screen so huge even though the whole thing is just the same size. The size of the 11 pro was just right for me. Only difference is in battery life. I’m getting the mini because it’s the closet in size as my iPhone 8 and the battery isn’t that bad. I use my phone all day. It still lasts almost an entire work day. That’s enough. If not you either work on your phone or you use it too much.
On apples website, the 13’ macbook pro ships in 2-3 weeks while the air ships in 5-7 days. Maybe apple silicon shipping in 2-3 weeks?

i think i’m going 12 pro, the maxes are way to big. the difference in RAM is the deal breaker. internal storage will be @ least 128 gb. but that lidar scanner is must in my biz. it’s worth the extra $200 or so for that upgrade. the sides, well everyone has a case, so the “feel” not really decision. i’d go w/ the 12 but the camara & RAM make the pro my pick. also, this is the 1st iphone since the X to not look like the X!! 🤣

That was really super helpful .. I still think I will go for the 12Pro … although it seems to be the least popular solution. But one of the reasons why I am switching is that I love to take pictures and I am not carrying my camera with me anymore, because the pictures that even my old iPhone Xs take are amazing. So is it worth taking the 12 Pro instead of the 12 because of the camera?
Ram is important for me to future proof the device for app/software updates. If it is 2gb more than the reg 12 then I will buy it. Cause base storage is 128gb also. Pro max is going to be too huge and heavy. I already have an iPad Pro which I watch most of my media off of anyways to conserve battery life on my iPhone.

fr i dont know what he is talking about, if you take a lot of pictures you can also pay for your icloud in case you need more storage, that way you have a back up, lots of space and your phone works fine
Well if you offload unused apps or don’t download and keep the original photos it might work but that’s annoying and not everyone is willing to compromise a seamless fully fledged experience like you do
No one cares about apple making money here, it’s just really good value period. $50 for that kind of storage increase makes too much sense, even if you won’t use it you can sell it later for a better price than base storage
Interesting. I was thinking the same, but noted that I have used 118gig on my X 256gig phone. I do have music and tons of podcasts and books though, so if you only use your phone for streaming and selfies I guess 64gig is enough. Do you know how much of your 64gig you have left?

I’ve always gone for the biggest phones & have 11 pro Max, I was considering earlier in year to swap for iPhone 11 as I now ride a motorcycle and struggle to get the iPhone 11 Max in my pockets 😂 and it’s usually bulky even in jeans pockets & sometimes sticks out! I bought the 12 Mini because it has the perfect size. I really don’t miss the 6 to 8 size or even more the almost iPads XR, 11 and 12. I’m pretty happy that I can use it with one hand only.

I have the iPhone 7 and I was thinking of getting the mini because it is smaller and I figured it would be easier for me to hold than the 12. Also to fit in my jeans pockets since they make woman's pockets so small. I am having battery life problems now with my 7. So hmmm now I'm not sure which iphone I should get.

Not only “is the max version too big for your hands,” but also “is it too big for your pockets.” I work in the field, and I used to have the 7 plus. It fit really nice in my have, but I got really tired of having that big of a phone in my pocket. I want the 12 pro max so bad, but I’m afraid about how it’ll fit in my pocket....

when you're scared of not being able to charge your phone while holding it in your hand, cable exist. its' free, faster and no different from a magnetic charger that sticks to a phone aside from the position of the cable. Also 7.5 watts is super slow but 15W with the efficiency of wireless charging will still newer win a race, the small battery in this case helps a lot

I had an SE, it was heavy and never seemed to work right. Love my mini, it works well and is easy to hold. Has better battery longevity than the SE. But I don’t use my iPhone for much.

iPhone 12 is the best iPhone to drop in my opinion. I think the aluminum is better than the stainless steel and you can save that extra $170 at least for me the 64 gb is enough because I don't take that many pictures. I just use my phone for Snapchat, instagram, music, and podcasts and the occasional Disney plus or RUclips. I have the Xr and was considering upgrading to the iPhone 12 but I think it might be smart to just save my cash and wait for the 12 to be cheaper when the 13 drops
My oneplus 7 pro is keeping me from upgrading to apple 8gb ram 256gb 90hz no notch. Fast charger . Amoled display . And it's a year old . Only jelly of the camera
