the amount of replayability in this game is off the charts. I'm playing a side campaign solo while also playing one with 2 friends. Also, big fan on puzzles. this game is a massive hit for me.
Can I play this game solo as I got no friends rn playing this game? I am planning to get this game
They intentionally removed the armor specializations because people were too locked into a meta dependent upon a full set. So in this case it’s more like Elden Rings formula.
I’m glad they changed it. Now I can dress how I want
@@eligreg99 Find a new armor set in a sewer, immediately equip it for fun.
Yes.
Yeah, armor is a win. That’s literally why they added the mutators. I think what the armor does is enough. Yeah maybe in the future they could add a small flare to it but that may just cause everyone to feel like they HAVE to use a certain armor for their build. So really their is no winning for them in that case.
if that was the case they could have added a cosmetic option on top of sets but they just wanted players to be weaker in the endgame and more things to farm for

As someone who plays Destiny 2 as much as you do its great to see you review other games and how much we need some other games to try because of well you know LOL....
Yup... We know 😁
@@musanetesakupwanya1050 hahaha!
Well you know that's the way it has been for 9 years now .since destiny havent played other RPG games like used to .
My buddy told me this was coming out this month and I couldn't believe it was so soon! I really hope it gets much more attention! Everyone I hear and watch a ton has been giving it really good reviews! I'm excited!
You might want to wait. The performance is terrible on all platforms. And with the lies from the team about the first game, I would definitely wait if I were you. At least be smart enough to not pre-order
@@johndodo2062performance isn’t terrible I have no clue where you got that information from.
I mean, it wasn't really "soon". They'd been quiet for a couple years till they announced it after it was basically ready.
@@johndodo2062 no issues on my ps5 so far, im 14 hours in
80 hours in, still feel like I've barely seen everything. I've deliberately avoided looking up how to get items and secrets and builds (so I don't end up just farming items and spoiling my fun), and I jumped in at Veteran, so I could work up the difficulty levels (for more plays of the campaign overall, on Nightmare right now), Thoroughly enjoying my time with the game.
If it suddenly came to halt tomorrow, I'll have been more than happy with my purchase.
It is a great game, thoroughly fun.
I'm so here for ebontis review arc.
Hello there sir, that's a name I know rather well. VERY fun game, I highly recommend playing it.
Diablo update has me really looking forward to this game.
I've been seeing this comment a lot.
@@StrongandGrand me too! That patch must be trash! I think this will become a catch phrase now.
@@StrongandGrand lol. Remnant looks awesome
@@TheJay1979be careful don’t throw another $70 down the drain
@@poppychalupa9390 It's $40. Not $70..misinformation .
First game was brutally hard but well done. Hopefully they’ve improved some of the clunky UI elements and poor map menu. These AA developers really are making better games than the AAA devs right now. It’s where the true gems are found
It's been a while since I played a memorable AAA that ran well even 6 months after release lol.
Most indie and small dev studios are making games that are near infinitely better than anything any AAA studio has released over the last 10 years.
Agree. I liked diablo 4 but it got stale after a few weeks. Aside from that Elden Ring was the last AAA game I really liked. This one is a no brainer imo. First one was amazing and this just looks like more of the same but BETTER. Gunfire got my 70$
The first was only "brutal" because the difficulty design was trash. It was designed for coop only and screw you if you wanted to play alone. Bosses with a constant spam trash mob is just awful, incompetent design.
Regarding the coop difficulty, they said that they added a "power level" number to your minimap which you can use as a guide for whether your gear is leveled to par with what you're facing. Maybe that was part of the issue?
I’m playing my own campaign, and playing in 2 other friends campaign and so far we’ve gotten to different realms and different areas in my same realm. I have over 15 hours in the game and nothing has been the same or felt even close to being repetitive. This and RE4 have been GOTY for me
That cube gun 🤯
Also, im very glad for the Survival mode because of limited time playing i don't want to be stuck in one spot to long. Makes me enjoy the game...thx to the developers for this!
Survival mode
This is why I wish Destiny didn't have PvP. Without PvP, Bungie could really add some of these insane weapons with insane mechanics to the game.
I would like to thank Blizzard for destroying Diablo4 with the latest patch and opening up my time to play Remnant 2 instead.
Lol
I am not a spuls player. No souls, no bloodbourne, no elden ring, no remnant 1. I told my 2 buddies to buy this with me, and we all played for the first time together and we have not been able to put it down. This game has been so much fun and so refreshing to play. Wete gamers, so we atarted on veteran and it is the perfect sifficulry to get youe feet wet. The bosses have been unique so far and the perfect mix of challanging and fun. I am extremely satisfied with the challange, the secrets, exploration, build crafting and best of all, doing it with a couple of friends who would have never even had this game on thwir radar.
Me and my coop duo started our fisrt campaign on nightmare. I'd recommend it. It makes the game much more punishing and you have to actively think of a strategy to take down most boss fights rather than yolo it.
This was a really well observed critique, fair, balanced, and informative, thank you.
Immediate Sub and Like.
The bossed are ridiculously OP for single player.
So play on easy mode.
They are challenging for sure, but I wouldn't say op. Plus they have some awesome introductions!
Something that might help is to
Drop your weight down into the blue so you'll get the long dodge and less stamina penalties. When you find it, equip a ring that gives you more stamina and sprint speed.
That boost stacks with the handlers perk that boosts sprint speed.
It makes things sooooo much easier
Tldr:lightweight for best rolls
Sprint speed
Profit
Git gud
Good review E! Cant wait to play tomorrow. Loved the first game.
Hope you enjoy it!
I like the armor system, but I understand someone not. I'm so hyped for this game. Good review!
The only issue I'm having is that dodge timing seems to be a little too pixel perfect. Not only that, everything has reach that seems to not fit their bodies. Like fighting an army of stretch arm strongs. The only other thing is the 10 seconds it takes to recover from knockdowns, lol. Like, get the hell up already!
Other than that, it's pretty fantastic.
Also when I play with friends I’m always having frame rate issues. I hate it
I’m a long time souls player. Platinum on bloodborne and elden ring. And I started this game in the lowest difficulty as hunter. And hunter may have been a mistake because I got face rolled until I got to about level 7.
I’m curious what the experience is like as medic or handler. Because hunter was very difficult until I got into it.
this game honestly one of the best looking 3rd person shooters ive seen in a while, the gameplay loop is fantastic too, bad ass abilities, looks way better than destiny 2 and the Division 2
a company released an actual game, crazy.
I casually play souls game and i finished most of them mostly through sheer gaming, i did struggle on some of them. I started veterant, some of the boss are hard on this mode (mabye just not familiar with systems). Overworld stuff is managable, some boss i really have to coop them - which is fun. If i want to breeze to the story and get agood feel of the game i would go survival.
Great Game thanx for the review deserves more than 700 likes
Only real issue I have had is with laggy hitboxes in online, and some of the scaling yeah. I do miss infinite traits too
I totally not agree survivor is a good difficult. Enemies still deal to much damage. I have all achieviements now after 80 hours and wish that the devs tune down the damage of all mobs at least 20% especially for the last boss. you talked about new players...I am sure new players will be very fast very frustrated. everything else about the game is really good. A+ game!
Awesome review my friend 🤝🏽
Is there matchmaking, to be able to jump into a random players story? Or strictly lfg?
Yep
group scaling is rough. i agree.
If you have handler as your subclass, you getta DOGGO!?!?!?
If you co-op will you see the same rewards as your friend even if you do puzzles or will only they get the reward ?
Everything is shared other than ammo now that's first come first serve
is there match making to play with randoms? i love puging games cause i got no friends
There is match making. For lots of different things.
@@Ebontis thanks!
I read the polygon review this morning and was like... "what?"
So much bullshit about there being no build variety. About how the levels were cookie cutter, and the combat sucked.
Like... did we play the same game?
I mean it was pretty clear that the guy who wrote that article absolutely should not have been the one chosen to review it- he was cranky from there being a heat wave, he never played the first one, he had zero desire to engage with the mechanics, or even acknowledge them really.
I’m so excited. I loved the first one
Just a small problem, there is no thing as "more unique", it's either unique or not. The arechetype system was added to replace the armor set system but if that was the case they could have added a cosmetic option on top of sets. They just wanted players to be weaker in the endgame and more things to farm for
In the end a meta will be defined
True but it’ll take a lot longer to find
PC release was shite! Crashed my PC every 5 minutes.
I could not stand the combat, its too clunky, especially melee. I wish it has OutRiders smooth movement and shooting, the game would be perfect for me then
Outriders 😂
Can you go into first-person 😶
No.
Nope, this is third person only, except for like a sniper with a scope you’ll go into scope view for the big aiming
Alright thanks 😊 for the info 👍
What I don't like about remnant 2 is that it always plays the same. Kill a few small guys then the audio que and 1 or 2 big guys - you use your ability and mod, kill them and then the loop starts again with a few small enemys.
Can you say Diablo who?😮
“Unique weapons…..:when I say unique I mean the same as most other post apocalyptic game weapons”
Damn when I first played dreamer was much more fun
the game is just basically the same as 1, there are no dungeons.... just one stage or a map..then u go up and down bla bla bla lol.... not really much to do ... and later is become kinda boring and boring, thats my review after beating the game.
I would like to know the resolution and frame rate on ps5 because gunfire lied about their ps5 version for the first game. They announced 4k,I but the game, NO 4K AT ALL. No comment from the developer at all. They lied, deactivated the 4k and didn't tell anyone. Lie to me once, screw you
The game came out on the ps4. There was no ps5 version
Black and chinese token women, no thanks. I am out.
Wtf does that even mean
I hear ya. That woke intro was beyond horrendous.
It's not fantastic at all. This is a good game but it's not amazing within 2 weeks I'm bored and got most stuff. I'm happy to tell you it's a ok game and I will go onto other games until DLC is out shame it's 2 weeks in and boring.
Honestly curious how many hours you put into the game in those two weeks?
Great review, I did enjoy the first game and the second looks interesting. I'll probably wait to pick it up on sale with all the games I'm already playing.
More fun than Destiny 2 😃 and better than Outriders. 😄
Did you run out of storage space like Diablo 4?
That ricochet gun (10:18) is just like the Dreadbound from Returnal, one of my other favorite 3rd person shooters.
Returnal was such a great surprise. Hope you enjoy Remnant 2 if you pick it up.
This game seems to have taken like.. A LOT of unveiled inspirations from Returnal, to Bloodborne, to Dead Space, and Stranger Things. I fucking love it.
The Devs specifically made the armor just cosmetic (aside from the armor values that is) because they listened to fan feedback from the first game. People complained that the unique abilities from the armor on the first game were too impactful which kept players wearing armor sets they thought were ugly because the bonus’ were too powerful to ignore. People didn’t like be forced to wear a set of armor just because it complimented their build
I guess if you’re the Devs you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t. Can’t make everyone happy
My main annoyance with 1 was that you had long range weapons like sniper rifle but the enemies would see you far away and you would not be able to snipe them from long range. Thankfully thats changed.
Yup! Now you’ve got an archetype that specializes in just that lol
@@averageatbestva But don't they still do the ol "you see a few ennemies far away but 8 times that amount is going to spawn around you during the fight anyway" à la borderlands?
Thanks for this review! I follow your Destiny content. It’s great to see some different content here!
This game is so mind boggling with where to go. Im at the king boss fight and getting wrecked!
That cube gun is gonna be hard to replace.. its so dang cool!
What about the bioms, how are they? How do they compare with the first game? Also the procedurally generated worlds do they feel different or not? I feel those were missed in what is a good review
The three main biomes feel very different and even have parts of each biome that are even farther from where you start. I was trying not to show too much for those who have stayed somewhat dark on the release.
Excellent review as ever. Does R2 have the same levelling idea as R1? In R1 the first time you start a campaign area or re-rolled something it set the difficulty just above where you were so you always get a challenge. If you found it too hard you could play things a few times and over-level to make it easier.....then the next area would scale up again etc. Made for a clever way to balance challenge while not road-blocking. Cheers.
Areas now have a set level that is indicated on the HUD when you enter the area. If an area is too high level or difficult, that's when you know you need to go level up your gear or archetype to gain more power.
The level of challenge is now more reliant on the difficulty you set yourself when you start a campaign or re-roll a world.
@@Nomanspie Cheers!
As always, your insight is appreciated. I pre-ordered this the other day because of how much I dug the first one, but your summary at the end is what I wanted to hear! Great review!
Hope you enjoy it!
Great work, always appreciate your thougts and reactions!
Thanks for the kind words and checking out the variety.
"way more than 4 archetypes"??? I heard there were only 5?
Just getting started.
