Bought the TBox after seeing your great video, @technicallyjeff! It's snappier than I expected. How are you dealing with internet access for it? SIM with it's own data plan or are you using a moble hotspot from your phone when you're one the road? I'm trying to use my iPhone 15 hotspot but man the TBox does NOT like to even see the hostspot SSID more than half of the time. Any tips for reliable connectivity? I really don't want to pay for the EV6 hotspot just for the TBox.
Great! I use my phone's hotspot. With the iPhones, in the Tbox Plus wifi settings, go to advanced settings for your hotspot and select to do a static ip address. That should make it work better. iPhones are finnicky.
Personally, the Tbox Plus because it gives more functionality and access to enable Android developer options which let's you enable split screen with Netflix
Hmm I know it can be disabled. I think it can be moved but I'm not positive. I haven't tried to move it. Check the settings and factory settings (4545)
Hi, I have a small problem with the screen resolution when I connect the Tbox to TV using HDMI. It takes the default resolution 1920x720 because of which the display gets clamped on top & bottom of my TV & I cannot utilize the full UHD screen. All videos get resized to smaller size on TV. Greetings, a question, I also have a tbox But the screen is very large compared to the screen of my radio, I would like to set the resolution to 1280x720 Since it is configured according to the specification in 800x480. Do you know if there is any way to change the resolution?
You can change the dpi if you enable developer settings by tapping the software build number a bunch of times and changing the min-width to something like 700px
I haven't personally tested the 4GB version of the Tbox plus, however you get twice as much RAM and internal storage for only $22 more. I would recommend the 8GB version.
These split app short cuts never work for me but I think it's due using nova launcher or overlays I use for a small always visible clock and audio visualizers.
So is it best to update to the newer software now I keep the one on off your website so I had the split screen settings because I would lose that option but now I could use it the way you just shown everyone
Why does my TBox Plus constantly reset when trying to use CarPlay? I have installed newest updates and such, but without fail it constantly restarts-and in no set way. Sometimes 30 mins. Sometimes 30 secs. Any ideas what is going on?? Other people have similar issue?
@@TechnicallyJeff I am. It’s weird. Once it locks up (which doesn’t seem to be consistent in any way), it restarts within like 10 seconds or so every time. 🤷♂️

Yes you need to enable developer settings by going to the build number and tapping it a bunch of times. Then you need to enable split screen for all apps in the developer settings.

I haven't used the UHD version with HDMI yet. Did you purchase it from autokitcarplay.com? If so, I'd email their support.
Can you open Apple CarPlay in one part of the screen, and then an app from this box in another?
No, if you run Carplay it takes over the entire screen

Can we open youtube app in fullscreen mode? My carlinkit opens youtube in middle of screen.
It will show in the middle of the screen. Depending on the aspect ratio of the content though it will fill the screen.

@@TechnicallyJeff If I did it correctly, the width is fine. But the height is not very long yet and cannot be seen. Can the height be changed?
It impacts it all, not just the width. What vehicle do you have?

I haven't personally tested the 4GB version of the Tbox plus, however you get twice as much RAM and internal storage for only $22 more. I would recommend the 8GB version.

Yeah I think it's because of Nova launcher. It didn't work for me with nova either

In the Tbox Plus settings change your default navigation app to a random app. Then maps should show.
