Oh man, I’m so dumb. I made the mistake of watching all of your videos from oldest to newest and I bought the CarLinkIt Plus… came back to watch the wire hide tutorial only to realize they have an upgraded model! I would have gone for the Max had I paid attention. Gonna see if they’ll accept a return and let me upgrade as I haven’t actually used it yet. EDIT: After a bit more research, it doesn't seem to be much difference for what I'm looking for. I'm just gonna roll with what I've got and I'm sure I'll be happy.
Just a quick question if anyone knows a solution to getting Netflix or other apps to show up full screen. Still have the basic non android auto bar on the left that's not going away when using android auto?
I bought this device with a 6225 processor. 8gb ram. It's really incredibly fast. The surface on the back is very hot when the hand touches it. I looked with the program and the device is like 52-53 degrees.
The only trouble I have with my box is that I have to turn my hotspot on and off once to establish wifi connection. Other than that I love it. I have an Iphone mini 13.
Old video so not sure my post will get an answer and I've searched everywhere to see if it can be done. When I start my Jeep up the carlinkit max goes to android CarPlay and I have to always press the "switch" button for it to go to Apple CarPlay. Is there a setting somewhere hidden that I can get it to start up directly into Apple CarPlay? If not, I will go back to my generic carlinkit that is able to open in Apple.

i dont know how i did it but set the connection type to carplay...the box starts within a few seconds and you can still use android auto. if connection type is set to android auto, i need about half a minute just to see the interface of the box on my multimedia system

Installed this box over the weekend and not to impressed at the moment, sometimes the bluetooth connection fails and i can't seem to be able to use phone because the folder is empty which means it doesn't have access to my galaxy s23 ultra contacts, so making a phone call means or i go back to original car screen or by using my phone book directly on my phone, also if i press the phone button on my steering wheel it doesn't open the phone book but it kinda works as a backspace button, when i press the phone button it goes to start screen so at the moment not to impressed with this box , if i can't get it sorted it goes in the trash because i don't use things that don't work properly, can't be a set up problem because i allowed it full access on everything while setting up the box
Hey Robert! Sorry to hear that man, I’m not exactly sure what’s causing your issues since I’m not an Android guy. I’ve never used one, I’ve been an iPhone user since they came out. Hopefully someone can chime in and help ya out, I don’t have any of those issues with my iPhone 12 Pro Max. Worst case scenario I would send them an email and express your concerns, something doesn’t seem right. Sorry I can be more helpful on this one, let me know how ya make out!
@@NitroZ18Fishing sorted most of these problems by going back to factory settings and starting all over again from scratch, the first time I started it up I did have the android logo but my screen didn't look right it looked more like Apple carplay so I reset the box by pushing with the pin in that small whole and then I got same android logo but this time the android screen, don't know what was wrong in that box but it showed android logo but gave carplay 🤔 I think for a moment android identified as carplay 😅 only thing not 100% happy about is phone calls because the caller hears a slight écho from his own voice and when I call tru original nissan connect system I don't have that problem....a bit annoying but that's the only issue I still have now

Hey, so I've had the carlink in my truck for over a week and it's cool. When I play spotify the sound changes constantly from your in a tunnel to high treble and its just not the same compared to android auto. That is the biggest bummer part about this setup. I do enjoy the apps I can load on there, it does take some time to load when I start the truck. I'm still learning it but I'm not super impressed. Ya it was only 127 bucks but I was basing this purchase off your video for it, you loved it better than the other brand so I bought it. Also it's not as smooth flowing as android auto but not that big of a deal. Anyways just thought I would share my experience with it so far. Thanks again for your very indepth reviews.

Hi, i have iPhone 14 pro, and carlinkit now connects automatically to my phones bluetooth but my phone doesn’t share internet through this bluetooth connection. Is there the way that this box will also receive internet connection via bluetooth or i have to connect it through wifi every time?
Would the Mictuning app work though this? I just bought the 12 gang switch with the app option. This would be great that way I wouldn’t have to mount the actual switch on my dash. Or do you have to power on the switch first ? I haven’t installed the switch yet.

í've recently bought this one... audio and video are out of sync in RUclips, prime video, Netflix.... Also gets very hot, very very hot. Audio quality from Spotify or any other app is horrible, a lot of compression.

Curious about this box… if your car gets broken into and they steal the box, will they now have access to all the apps and their logins that you have on the box? Meaning that I would have to change every single password to any app that I have on that box and let’s say my phone or tv or home pc? Thanks
I just got a 2023 F150 ive made mine work but i had to play with it. Not sure how i got it to work after trying so long. Im looking for someone to put a video out with exact steps for the F150.
You should have at least one port that shares data with your head unit. The Tundra is the same way, my CarPlay is wireless, but if you plug into the correct port it’ll share the data with your screen. Hope that helps!
just got this- pretty darn nice, but at the risk of missing something obvious- netlfix, youtube, etc has to be run through the Tundra/vehicle display? Meaning: I can't run youtube through the app/browser on my phone and have it work? or is there an app that I can dload on my phone and accomplish such?

When you had the t-box plus and using your iPhones hotspot, did you have to go to the hotspot screen in settings on your phone to connect to WiFi every time you got in the truck to use the t-box? My will not connect to my iPhones hotspot unless I go to the phones hotspot page.
Im having same problem connecting to phone. Sitting in driveway the house wifi connects and works fine. But I have only been able to connect to phone and actually drive off maybe 3 times. After playing with it for 30 min each time. Then I have no idea how I actually made it connect. Any suggestions?

Why dont you tell your viewers that it stops working. It doesnt work most of the time its not just plug n play. It’ll work one day and next day just stops connecting to wifi. Do not buy this product.

I don’t believe so. I’ve honestly never used an SD card but I’m almost positive if you download it you’re good to go!
