    I don’t think it was a mistake by them.
    We’ve been purposefully mislead by them about what’s going on and they think they can pull the eyes over our eyes.

    I watched your video with interest, having met a Ukrainian when servicing his washing machine in the 1980s Helensburgh, he told me he could never go home because he had faught with the Germans against the Russians in the second world war. At the time I was unaware of the Soviet induced famine where between 3 and 5 million Ukrainians had been starved to death on the orders of Stalin. I had forgotten about him until I read the book Red Famine by Anne Applebaum and more recently the 98-year-old you mentioned got me thinking of how I might have acted in their position.
    I can completely understand Ukrainians taking up arms against the Russians, as you say they had been through a Russian induced famine in the 1930s where between 3 to 5 million Ukrainians were starved to death. The 98-year-old guy in Canada of whom I know nothing except his age and that he might be tried in Poland for war crimes, would have been born in 1925.
    I tried to put myself in the position of a Ukrainian such as him being born in 1925; by the time I reached the age of ten, I would have survived the famine, I would have witnessed starving people, bodies in the street and have done some things to survive I cannot imagine what that would do to my value of human life is anyone's guess. In 1941 when Adolf decided to backstab Stalin I would have been sixteen years old. The question is, would I have joined the Germans offering food, clothing, medical care, and a chance to kill the people who had created the famine, or would I have joined the people who starved my family to death?
    At the age of sixteen in 1941 Ukraine, would I be an ideological Nazi, or somebody fired by rage taking a chance to revenge my people and kill Russians? If I had decided to go with the Germans; at what point would I have found out the Germans were every bit as bad as the Russians and what could I do about it?
    I have nothing but contempt for anyone in the West who sided with and joined the Nazis, they all knew what freedom was but threw themselves wholeheartedly in with the fascists.
    For the Ukrainians and the people in the Baltic States, Finland etc. who knew what the Russians were and what they were capable of, that's something else and each person needs to be judged on the actions they took after joining up with the Germans or the Russians.
    I am biased when it comes to the SNP, I loathe them and everything they are doing to destroy Scotland, apart from the SS insignia which should be removed though a history of the people who built the church should be included. I've no problem with the renovation of the church it is now part of our history as is the church built by the Italian prisoners of war in Shetlands or Orkney Isles, they also faught for the Nazis

    Am happy to see this Ukrainian church get funding to renovate, giving the church the most needed renovation, better than giving to mosque, don't forget Scotland and Ukrainian are Christian United, "Nazi" drop it as it now old news and let it go, Ukrainian have move on

    Tiny point. The chapel was used by the Ukrainian Greek Catholics. They are in communion with the Holy See and thus part of the Catholic Church, not part of the Orthodox Church. They celebrate Mass using the Greek Catholic Rite, not the Roman Rite, thus showing that not all Catholics are 'Roman' by the way!!! Same with the Syro-Malabar Catholics who are also found in Scotland. They're not 'Roman' either. Ironically, Ukrainian Greek Catholics also served in the armed forces of Canada and Poland during the Second World War.

    Ive mentioned this before on line , response wasnt great , The 14th Waffen - SS Grenadier Galicia division had over 25 thousand members , They wernt drafted they volunteered , and were as bad as their masters , Post war four thousand of them ( an entire division ) were accepted and relocated to the UK . The fascist insignia is still displayed here in Scotland and memory to them is still displayed there today . The church was built by captured Galicia SS members who were almost certainly guilty of war crimes. And the restoration of this place . once again the party displays it has zero respect or clue of what its doing .....or does it ? this is a new low even for them . or are they just really that stupid .....

    This camp was for let's say ideologically the right wing of the NSDAP and German military of all services. Not just Ukrainians. The prisoners were categorised into either white (okay) grey (could be brought back to normal) and black (NAZI) The SS recruited members from most countries within Europe, one of the most fanatical and respected groups by Germany leaders were Belgian. Dutch SS fought at Arnhem. About 12 British and Australian soldiers were also recruited into the SS. It looks like some historian MP SNP member thought that by supporting a Ukrainian historical church was politically good at this time. I don't think they even though they were SNP even realised what the camp was for.
    There is a nice little animal park nor far away, great for the Grandkids. Near Comrie. Cultybraggan Camp is a (black camp) interesting for historians.

      There was another Black camp camp 198 Bridgend, South Wales. Unlike the camp at Comrie the prisoners decided to escape, the largest escape attempt of WW2. The prisoners stole bicycles and were quickly caught when they all rode on the wrong side of the road. lol Apparently the Comrie inmates were very grateful to the locals for their treatment. One German paratrooper left the village about £400000 when he died.

    • @24hourjukebox55
      @24hourjukebox55 11 месяцев назад

      @@Fyodor48 the only comparison is the actual 'march' that takes place...not the politics of either 'group'. If there is freedom of expression the Nazis would be allowed to march...unless they are regarded as terrorists or outlawed for war crimes. I asked a question re. 'marches' therefore was looking for an answer. Can we expect to see Neo Nazis goosestepping on Scottish streets ? I would be outraged but would like to know if the Scottish Govt. would allow it. The Orange Lodge is the only comparison because they hold an annual march, no-one else does. As for the ''memorial''...? McCalpines have some pretty good bulldozers doing nothing at the moment.
