The best way to fix a db meter that was dropped on the floor is to throw it up against the ceiling. That should balance it again as long as you catch it on the way down. Trust me, I'm an engineer
Classis no nonsense über simple death metal done right: ruclips.net/video/a6EFU1qztSg/видео.html. The HM2 still sounds as effing mean as it did on Entombed's LHP. Enjoy!
Same here. Ola is a fan of oldschool Death Metal but everything he writes is more in Pantera Groove metal side of things. I guess that is simply where his creative juices flow but I would also like to hear him write a really nasty sounding Swedish Death metal song, just to hear how it would sound like.
I love hearing the room mic bc I feel that you get a much better sound for the depth of the tone rather than just the bite from the cab mic. Also, every Friday should be fun Friday. You deserve it, Ola!
That Hm-2 is so damn awesome! Good for tremolo.. melody or chucking. Gives it all a great dirty bad ass edge wich I think is missing in most modern sounds.
"You might wonder why I am going with the Orange. Maybe I am going for a little bit more of like the 'High on Fire', Matt Pike type of sound today." If you don't hear buzzing from the head when it's turned off, unplugged, and in its case while in an anechoic chamber 100 km away from you.. Well, you're way far away from obtaining the result desired.
Great things about this video; The Orange sounds great on its own. Liking the sounds of the different microphones. Ola mentions how the Eyemaster is satisfying, then proceeds to play an awesome as riff 🤘 That HM-2 squeal is legendary, and the tone is a personal favourite. The smile on Ola's face while playing the HM-2
Just this week, I finally acquired my dream amp: an Orange Thunderverb 50. I have no idea how they get such a thick, low tone into a guitar amplifier. They are truly glorious.
I can't believe you mentioned Matt Pike, he's one of my favourite guitarists, I literally piss and shit myself simultaneously when you said that, it was totally unexpected
Works for me. I've had an HM2 since the 90's and I LOVE the Eyemaster. I also love these videos. I don't actually use mine like most. I use mine, cranked up as always but I play what's now considered classic, blues based heavy rock. Ibanez RG7421 into the Eyemaster into a Twin. Sounds like a Marshall that's on fire... It's wonderful.
HELL YEAH!!! The Boss HM-2 sounds like my adolescence back in the 90's listening to Entombed. I mean, look at him!, he is smiling ear to ear!, he knows what i mean. :D
Cool! Nice guitar dude and you jamming too nice riffs checking the pedals! I think both sound great as the different microphone sounds picked up! As noted old school headbanger 80`s DOD pedals rock! Sick sounds out of the pedals so cool! Made me smile next generation of guitarist its Swedish Death Medal sound for sure! Clean to both pedal's feedback awesome! That's right headbanging! Good review! Thanks for sharing! Jonathan
All the way from Adelaide, South Australia. Ola you the man. I fucking love your vids and demos. You would have to produce some of the best gear demos ever. Keep up the brutal slaying brother 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
i dig the sludge ola, i just hot wired my 1987 peavey studio pro 65 watts directly to my 4x12 and holy shit it sounds amazing with overdrive ,metalzone, and hotone skyline djent pedals
As a person that grew up with Entombed, Arch Enemy and Bloodbath, I 100% agree with you @ 5:24 . It is a shitty mess yes, but it's AMAZING, gives you some powerful and dark feeling that no other type of distortion brings on the table
I think TC did a Awesome!! job ,..Love when it "Kräks" =D of distorsion, and this pedal wich i have makes me smile and is a synoymus with you dear Ola,...not Entomed it sounds good as =D Thanks Ola making us smile out here
Sludge Friday! Have a good one!
Du med! FREEEDAAAG!!!
What are you downtuned to? Q?
Have a stellar weekend!
Nice. Reminds me I must listen to ‘You’ll Never See...’ again. That sound man.
I was up all night making my own sludge, god damm McDonald's. 💩
The best way to fix a db meter that was dropped on the floor is to throw it up against the ceiling. That should balance it again as long as you catch it on the way down. Trust me, I'm an engineer
thanks I can't believe that worked
Does this work for headstock breaks as well
@@HearthVader it works with everything
Yeah, it works with all of the measuring devices perfectly and every time
Hearing Ola say "I'm going for that Matt Pike sound" are the words I've been waiting years to hear.
He can try but most modern metal players aren't capable of playing music like that.
@@emmemmemm2360 He should've used a Solar with passive pickups and maybe some other cab than a Mesa 4x12.
@@NorgGrimm Not just passive pickups. Moderate output vintage voiced pickups. Modern high output pickups are no good.
@@emmemmemm2360 they just need to slow down a little bit. Needs to be more of a blues groove.
AND DOWN TUNE
That feedback squeal is almost as iconic as the actual HM-2 tone
@Astute Cingulus you on the right video comment section my man?
Gordon C don’t make fun of him. He’s blind
You damn Swedes and your too bassy/speaker farting death metal tones. Love it.
can we all just stop for moment and appreciate Ola's amazing humor and personality. dude is just so fucking awesome! Thank you Ola!!
I think you killed everything within a 100 mile radius with that last tone.
This amount of gain puts a smile on my face and warms my heart, the feedback is the best!
Coffee with Ola and Matt Pike would be amazing.
I’ll bet the first thing they’d talk about is tony iommi, weed, or both
It would just be an hiur of Matt Pike trying to convince Ola about ancient mesopotamian civilizations underneath the earths crust. Make it happen!
Your face as the amp gives feedback after engaging hm2 and the fuzz is so much more swedish death metal than anything else. So beauty. Much metal.
All hail the HM-2: The Swedish Chainsaw
Classis no nonsense über simple death metal done right: ruclips.net/video/a6EFU1qztSg/видео.html.
The HM2 still sounds as effing mean as it did on Entombed's LHP.
Enjoy!
It's Japanese though.
The beginning of the TC was straight Dismember style. Hell yeah. That’s def the band I think of when I hear the term Swedish Sludge lol
I have it! It's an awesome pedal, I think it's named after the song 'eyemaster' from the entombed album wolverine blues!
Am I the only one that would love to see Ola use this tone on an album with the HM-2 and fuzz combined? I think that would be sick
Yea I wonder why he doesn't use this tone in his music?
@@expliteronboom3075 no clue, it would honestly work so well with his playing style

I love hearing the room mic bc I feel that you get a much better sound for the depth of the tone rather than just the bite from the cab mic. Also, every Friday should be fun Friday. You deserve it, Ola!
Cheered me up, just back from Hospital so happy to watch a bit of Ola 🤘
When the boss pedal kicks in 😁
Glad to see you’re still lee ving bro
Get well soon my friend!

When I heard that feedback of the HM-2, I instantly smiled beyond both of my ears. I can totally understand Ola.
10:11 is the sound of joy that we have all had when you find a great tone! Thank you Ola for starting the day off right \m/
The bass comes through so strong it almost feels like that HM-2 is in the room with me. Glorious.
That Eyemaster sounds beaut!!! Proper old school sludge 🍺🤘
Anything HM-2 related will have me hooked.
The lowest ambient growl of the HM-2 really is bliss. You had a very 'Surrounded by Theives' feelling 💜 #AllTubeAllTheTime
That feedback though!
EHG/Jimmy Bower would be proud Ola!

He would have to take his shirt off to really get the Matt Pike sound.
Matt Pike would appreciate this tone video. 🤘

Goddamn, the HM-2 is just so gnarly sounding
I can't believe you mentioned Matt Pike, he's one of my favourite guitarists, I literally piss and shit myself simultaneously when you said that, it was totally unexpected
Every day is a good day for some Swedish death metal playing/listening
Eyemaster Pedal is great pedal & price too. Great seeing you demonstrate it here along with other two.
You have created some wonderful Scandinavian Black Metal sounds on this video!
5:40 am time to wake the neighbors with a video from ola
Jacob Cardiff Central time zone FTW
Totally having a blank about the name of that song - please refresh my memory!
HM2 is freakin' preposterous like this. Complete eargasm.
The first time I heard Left Hand Path I think I almost s*** my pants. Glad to see you have a place your heart for the '90s Swedish death metal scene.
Nothing like the old school HM-2. Absolutely crushing.
My god the feedback with the HM2 and fortin fuzz is so musical. Would love to hear a record recorded with that.
Ola: Stoner Metal Edition w/ the Fortin
The Boss HM-2 was also put to great use by David Gilmour on 'About Face' and Pink Floyd's 'A Momentary Lapse Of Reason'.

Ola awesome video, your channel is by far my favorite channel on RUclips.
Im in love with that guitar. Absolute perfect execution of modern and classic blend.
Your smile from that tone makes me smile. Also super sludge tones are super fun for lead kinda stuff for me
That's the best hm2 sound Ola has ever done...
Boss sounds like a huge shovel that digging the grave. Really satisfying!
That is a perfect interpretation of the sound.
The decibel meter knew it couldn't handle this test. It committed seppeku to maintain it's honour.
Killer gear brother! I am peanut butter and jealous over that sic tone with the Terror!!!!!!
Perfect timing Ola my fortin fuzz just came in today! You are the man
Man this can be a staple of your channel..... Like a fun with Ola. IL love to see you having fun with insane shit like that 😁

Oooh, I like the content title in the timeline bar!!! Awesome and easy to find what I want.
Haiz, Ola/Eng! Zagryebisj show 10/10!
I just can't stop smileing when I hear an HM-2.
That guitar looks classy and heavy at the same time. That shape/finish combined with that headstock
Matt Pike’s tone really hits different. So fuckin glad Ola acknowledged it!!
The best time ever? Maybe not. Super fun to hear and definitely to play? Hell yes.
The HM-2 is a legend. I bought one in the 80's and it still works very well.

If you like this tone, bands like cursed earth, left behind, justice for the damned, might be worth looking up
10:12 the noise a genuine guitarist makes when he is excited about tone. Or when I see chicken nuggies
A good sludge riffing is like a strong cup of coffee, the feedback brings your mind to this plane instantly
That tone was perfect for entombed. When you cranked out damn deal done that sealed the deal!! That HM-2 is pure "Gothenburg" tone🤘
Saw Entombed in 1992 in a small club in Birmingham. Everything at the 11:00 was their live tone. I love that filth.
That is one badass looking guitar! I love the design with the reverse headstock premium for down tune-age very nice! 🤘😎🤘
Ola´s the man! Unfortunately all the Solars i want are sold out..... I´ll be waiting. Please get in stock! Please! Lovely guitars.

Waiting eagerly for that Blackstar LT Metal pedal demo which you had unboxed on a Sunday with Ola
Texas on his shirt, Orange amp, mention of Matt Pike?!!! Maybe the best Ola video ever!!!!!!
That Orange screams for some Crowbar by Ola Englund 🤘
Hi Ola. Your channel is real cool. Thanks for the great content. This metal head in Arizona is a big fan. Stay safe.
Takes me back to that era of old school 90's Swedish death metal. Great times!
OHHHH YUUURRRRRR, HM-2 for the win
the moment ive been waiting for! :)
I really enjoyed this. Thank you Ola!
The only videos I click like on before they even start.... You da man OLLLLLLLLLA.
5:37 DAMN DEAL DONE!! That riff on that pedal, holy moly, it’s just sublimly filthy and and wonderful. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Best video in a while, thank you!
Another beautiful Solar guitar. Happy Friday everyone!
Ola, thank you for the video, at the end I fell asleep for a good hour, a well needed nap, the music really relaxes my body to help sleep
Swedish Death Metal is definitely your thing, Ola, you should stick to that more. 🤘🏼
Loved the Fortin Fuzz going into the already cranked orange. Sounded massively over compressed, blown up and huuuuge!

ENTOMBED! Very cool sound. Takes me back to 1995. Great time to be alive as a metal head.
Man, the Damn Deal Done verse is heavy as fuck! Love it!
Love when you make videos that you enjoy just for fun!
So happy to see the fortin fuzz featured! Love blending it with my orange dark terror' third channel! Sounds fucking crazy
The Boss pedal sounded like Entombed: Wolverine Blues!!
It should - that's what they used on that recording.
Great album
Sounds just as good as any sludge band I've heard. Very catchy and groovy.
For me, an HM-2 into an overdriven amp is the sound of paradise! That's why I have so many of them and clones of them.
The second pedal and the riffs you played were a little reminiscent of the Dimebag.Love it.
Beautiful guitar + that pedal... can't go wrong.
Another alternate title could be "Ola having fun with feedback" Haha. Awesome video Ola.
Oh, fuck yeah! I have all three of those pedals. I use the Fortin Fuzz as a thick, nasty boost for my Marshall JCM 900 SL-X.
That single cut Solar is my guilty pleasure.
what a beautiful guitar
Man that was awesome
