- In a commencement speech at a Catholic liberal arts college, Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker was critical of LGBTQ+ rights and abortion and encouraged young women to focus on being homemakers. Where do I sign? The speach was not appropriate since he represents the Cheifs and the NFL regardless of where he is. It was not his job to preach. Graduation speaches are for encouragement to go after your dreams. Not about the speakers personal views. What he said is like a broken record playing the same tune ad nausium. We all know that. 🥱

I got my bachelor and master’s degree before I started my family. I wasn’t ready to be a parent at 18 or 21! Nothing wrong with starting your family after completing your education as I did! God does not put demands on people! His salvation is “Free Will”! Butker should only speak for himself! Good for him that he can afford for his wife to stay at home but in an average family today it takes two incomes! Narrow minded!
What happens to a woman without an education and her children if something happens to her husband or he is hurt in an accident and can’t work? Not all people make the salary Butker makes!

I don't see how LGBTQ+ got involved in this matter. He was picked to give a speech, students sitting there later gave him standing ovation, everybody directly involved are happy. But someone online got mad? He wasn't even talking to you. Maybe schools should nolonger tape these events, otherwise there always will be someone out there got mad.
