OMG you make me want to cry! I love this! I have been so burned out on nursing. I feel like all you do is shove tons of meds at the poor people all day 😢 You can’t always fix life with a pill. There’s more to it than that. I worked as a psych nurse for 4 years and that was better because you run groups and talk to your patients but they aren’t there long enough to get any deep life changing help. Plus it’s still about meds, meds, meds. Right now I’m working as an agency nurse in a covid isolation center for the homeless and I love it! But after this I don’t want to go back to traditional nursing. Not ever. Where do holistic nurses work? I need to find out how to get into this.
Im glad I found you. I just chose holistic nursing as a new specialty that I'll be getting into. Currently I work in the ICU. Im sick and tired of seeing too many sick people in the ICU that could've been prevented. I wanna get into holistic nursing because I love that it focuses on the person as a whole, and patients are not just a diagnosis or an ICD code to be billed.
I love that I found your channel. I start nursing school in a few weeks and my goal is to become a holistic nurse practitioner. I love that you touched on ACE’s and trauma informed care. One of my main influences for becoming a nurse was from watching Dr. Nadine Burke Harris’ TED talk where she touches on ACE’s and how her public health background helped influence how she cared for her patients.
I never thought all nurses are holistic nurses. I think this is something i may get into though. I've been dealing with the health care system just using medication as a bandage as apposed to treating the whole problem!
I’m looking into a holistic BSN program now. I’m an RN, LMT, Cht. I think I want to ultimately do functional medicine. The system is broken and I have to get out of regular nursing before it destroys me!
I found your page when looking for why I needed to sit for HNB-BC exam when I have practiced Holistic Nursing for 26 yrs. I got my A.A.S. RN degree in the dark days when patients hid their herbal preparations from their doctors and I, because they would be severely reprimanded and even throw out of a doctor's practice for continuing their cultural treatments. I taught my patients that they had rights and to be honest with their health care team way before it was called Cultural Competence and Cultural Sensitivity. It hurts me to my core that I still see patients encounter poor treatment due to Cultural Biases 26 years later. I absolutely support you living in your Holistic Nursing truth without a certification exam to validate the work us True Holistic Nurses are passionate about and doing in the community. I am now a BSN-RN trained in a few holistic modalities and I have been considering certification for a few years now. I took the practice test and got a 65% without studying at all! Have you sat for certification? Do we really need it?

What is the difference between nurse herbalist and holistic nurse and clinical herbalist? This would be great to hear from you, coz there are not lots of info about nurse herbalist,
Thank You so much for this video! I've been searching for videos just like this as well as your last upload for MONTHS. I'm a new grad nurse(Soon to be licensed) and I really want to specialize in holistic nursing/herbalism because I really don't enjoy the hospital setting plus I feel such a pull towards learning about the "natural" ways of caring for patients and really caring for the mind, body, and soul. I know that I should probably get some hospital experience first, what units do you recommend that I apply to work for to get some experience under my belt in preparation to eventually become a holistic nurse?
Not giving medications at some point is a challenge, but I understand how you feel. My perspective is this: there's a place for all medicine. Are pharmaceuticals overprescribed (especially in our elderly patients)? YES. Does epinephrine (and insulin, and lorazepam, and and and...) save lives?? Also YES. Becoming a nurse helped me respect when it's appropriate to use ALL of the tools in my toolbox.
The word "racism" is thrown around a lot and we really need to be careful in the way that it is used. Sometimes in dealing with people outside of our own ethnicity/religion -it's not necessarily "racism" as much as it is 'misinformation/understanding"
You can't..and that's the problem. The system forces you to go that route..that would be a DREAM to go directly into holistic nursing & having a hospital that implements holistic, ayurveda, nutrition, TCM

Oh love... i always thought I’d be a labor and delivery nurse because I was a doula. It’s definitely it’s own universe... which is why they only touch on the very basics. What scares you about it?

What if you’re not a nurse? How can you go to the holistic nurse without being a nurse yet, but a degree in another field
