I've replaced my Whirlpool Duet bellow tub seal 3 times now, every time I need a refresher to build my confidence on the proper process and this video is perfect. Knocked it out in about an hour today. No leaks and I feel good about the replacement. Thank you...saved me money, time, and stress (only had to halt the laundry cycles for 4 days), and completing it on my own. Yes!!
Once again, I saved a bunch of money. That's 3X instead of buying a new washer or dryer I was able to fix them thanks to Appliance Parts Pros and their videos. The bellow seal fit perfect. Just took it slow and careful to make sure the seal was seated all the way around at each part. My wife thinks I'm a genius. Happy wife...
Thank you so much to this channel!!! I am not mechanically inclined, not even a little bit, and with this video I was back up and running in 45 minutes for $50. You guys are life savers!!
Part and video instruction worked to perfection! This is a DIY dream to have these available.
Thank you, I got my washer in May 2002. A few repairs over the years, this one being the most recent. Your parts and video made the job very doable.
EXCELLENT video! Downloaded the parts list PDF and found the part online and picked up at the store. Must be a common failure as they had 96 in stock! Mine was the Maytag. Almost identical except for the soap/water tube. The wire-spring clamp was the hardest as it doesn't slide unless you coat it and the bellow with a little liquid soap. Wish I read all the comments below before I finished the job...lol Front door and panel are heavy. THANKS!
Thank you so much for taking the time to show us! People like you make the world go around and I am very appreciative!
+badcobra68 Glad the video helped you get the washer fixed!
I am a 66-year-old woman who just changed my tub seal following this video. AWESOME!! Thank you! For months I had a pool of water on the floor every time I did a load of laundry. I just finished a load and the floor is dry!!
Glad the video helped you get the washer leak fixed!
Great video for the do it yourself person. It took about 45 minutes and we were washing my husband's work clothes to try it out. Thanks!
Thank you for this perfect step by step replacement! The part alone was $100, I can only imagine what I would have been charged! I am so happy, washer is working perfectly!
No need to imagine: I was feeling lazy, so got a quote from the local Whirlpool repair shop. $300 for the part and $300 for installation (who also said we should scrap the machine and buy a new one). Suddenly, I had a lot more energy.
Wow, female with no previous washing machine repair experience here. Very easy job, was surprised at how expensive part is for a piece of rubber. Hardest part is putting the front bellow clamp on but other than that anybody can do this. Thank you so much for the easy to follow video, you at least saved me an $80 cdn service charge.
+Jackie DAndrea Glad the video helped you get the washer fixed up!

Spent the afternoon with this video and successfully completed this repair. Super clear. Very helpful. My washing machine is working like a champ. There is a small hose attached to the top of the bellow that isn't covered in this video. I used common sense for that part and amazingly it worked. :)
Glad we could help!
perfect step by step video... i had zero issues following along with the exception of having to pause for about 20 minutes while i struggled with that front spring...
Christopher Rader Awesome, good job on getting the spring on!
This tutorial is EXCELLENT! and easy. Thank you. Unfortunately, my washer has on extra 1/4" hose at 12 o'clock and my bellow did not have a corresponding hole. I was so excited until I found this. Go Appliance Parts Pro! Excellent video
Glad the video could help you out! If you'd like, we can check whether you have the right bellow for your machine based on your model number. You can use this tool on our website to help you find the model number: www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx
You sir, are a badass. A true professional in your field. Rare these days. Great job, and video. Thank you.
jugrnot8 Thanks and glad the video helped you get your washer fixed!
Great video. Helped me fix my washer. So thorough and clear. Even included how to put it all back together. I have a load of wash running right now thanks to your video. Thank you very much
Glad the video helped you get the washer fixed!
Incredible help.. I'm very handy.. but the step saved so much time!
Thank you for helping the DYI!
Glad the video helped you get the washer fixed!
This is a great video! I order my parts from appliancepart pros as well . I actually had a appliances repair Co come out before doing the repair my self they told me my washer was not worth fixing ,they did not fix my washer , but they charge me a $80.00 service call. Thanks Appliancepart pros for this video
Glad the video helped you get the washer fixed!
Spot on instructions. Putting the tension spring on at the end was tricky and i found it WAY easier to have help on that part. Otherwise awesome do it yourself in 30 minutes (for a rookie like me)
Bob Auriemma The spring clamps are always fun, glad the video helped out!
AppliancePartsPros I too struggled with this for about 5 minutes before discovering that needle nose pliers pulling down on one loop of the wire loop attaching to the spring only took about 10 seconds to pull it into place.
Great video!!! You guys make self repairs a breeze!!! Thank you.
dav73s Glad you were able to get the washer fixed!
I did exactly what the man said and was finished in less than an hour and washing clothes thanks toughest part is seating the "bellow" or "door gasket" in the grooves properly (which is very important) nice video I watched several all were very similar thank you
Ricochet74 Glad the video helped you out!
Like others, this video was EXTREMELY helpful, and I followed all the way through - wish all the screws were cross tip or flat, the screws used and the torque 20 often stripped them. The only show stopper for me (being home alone during the repair) was the tension spring - was much easier for me with help.
Jody Nelson Glad the video helped you get the washer fixed!
Great video.
I am glad to read the comments in addition to the video. You don't need to remove the front panel to install this. However, it most likely will be it much easier, if you can. It is good that the video shows this method, because you can see clearly the parts that are involved. I had a dryer sitting on top and taking that down would have been a pain.
It does require a small wrench to loosen the clamp as the space is tight. In addition, putting the liner back on was a pain since you have to feel around the lip as you can't see it without the front panel open.
The final hint is dish washing soap around spring wire before re-installing. That allows the wire to slip on easier. Like the other comments, I was struggling with it for more than 15 minutes before doing that.
Hung Chau Thanks for the tips! Glad you were able to get the washer fixed.
Excellent video, very detailed, even this novice could do it! Thanks Matt
Glad you were able to get the washer fixed up!
I just did this on my Kenore Elite HET3 in about 10 minutes without removing anything. In fact, my dryer was still on top of the washer the entire time. There was more than enough room to seat the new seal and put the clamp band around it. You do small low profile 1/4 drive and a 1" extension socket for the clamp nut. I spent more time fiddling with the tension band on the outside than anything else before realizing needle nose pulling down on one of the hook eyes attached to the spring made it very easy.
Alan Waterman Awesome glad you were able to get the seal in!
thank you, appliancepartspros! great instructional video ..this was my biggest "youtube" project so far , and it turned out very great.
Awesome, glad the video helped you get the washer fixed!
Excellent tutorial! It made fixing my washer a cinch.
Patricio Gamboa Awesome, glad the video helped you get the washer fixed!
Excellent video! Almost identical to my Maytag Washer Model YMHWE251YL. I've replaced this twice as it only seems to last about 2 years with heavy use. I hope the new part number is an improved rubber. Part number W10381562 was replaced by WPW10381562 on my model. Putting liquid soap on the final spring seal makes it much easier to put on.
Glad the video helped you get the washer fixed!
Great video! I will order the part and replace. I will let you know how it goes!thank you!
Thank you so much. I live in Brazil. Here it is very expensive any concert.
Perfect. Thank you for the detailed information. It was as easy as you said!
Randy Pierce Glad the video helped you repair the washer!
Thanks for taking the time to make this video! It was very helpful!
Only thing I would mention is about the hose at the top of the boot. Your new boot also had the hole for the hose fitting, but maybe your model didn't use said hose, mine did. Other than that, this was a real time saver. Thank you for the video.
Glad the video helped you out!
Mine has this as well.
Thanks for posting this! God Bless!!!
You're welcome! Happy to help.
Thanks!! Steps were the same for our Sport Duet.
You're welcome!
The video is extremely useful for the non professional home repair. Two things to comment: it's much easier if you have someone to give you some help, specially in my case that I have the dryer upside the washer. The replacement bellow I bought came with 4 holes in the bottom of it that were closed. In the original bellow this small holes were open to drain water from the bellow to the tub. I wander if I must open this holes in order to drain the water that collects in the bellow at the end of the washing time. Would it be better not to open them and dry with a towel the excess of water in order to prevent mold to accumulate in the bellow?
Great install video. I tried another tutorial because it didn't require removal of front panel. This appealed since the dryer on top prevented me from accessing screws to remove top. Fiddled and frustrated for hours! Then I did the job as per AP's video in about 40 minutes. Thanks, Drew
Awesome, glad the video helped you get it done!
Mine doesn't have the front panel either...so I'm stuck. Can you share the name of that tutorial ?
What do you mean front panel? You can also post your question and model number on our repair forum and the techs will help you out!
thanks. this video was super helpful!
You're welcome! Glad we could help.
Donato Thomas I have the small spray nozzle also, any tips on how to install that?
Putting that wire with the spring on at the end was the hardest part. What you want to do is scrub it clean so it is perfectly smooth, then lube it with liquid soap so it will slide on the boot. Went easy then.
There was one step not mentioned here. See that little hole in the top of the boot? There is a small spray nozzle that goes there. At least there was on my machine.

Thank Krusty!
Brian Humphrey Glad the video helped you get the washer up and running!
I am having issues with the lips part . I need to know where to start putting the lips on. Do I go
Near the clear part
This video was awesome, no more leak!! I think I may have something still not right, the boot doesn't seal with the drum. My socks went under the upper lip of the boot, didn't have this issue before. What am I missing?
Model# GHW9200LQ - Replacement boot# WP8181850.
I see you got an answer on the website!
I replaced my boot last night and the video was most helpful. The problem is that when I got it put back together and turn it on, it trips the gfc every time. What did I do wrong?????
Changing the bellow does not involve disconnecting any wires but if something came loose it may cause problems. I would double check all the connectors where you were working look for loose connectors, bad wires etc. If you have a gfc tester you can test the socket or try plugging something else in that socket. If you do not see anything and still think its something in the washer you can post the problem along with the appliance model number on our repair forum and the techs can help you troubleshoot the problem. forum.appliancepartspros.com/
greetings ! Thanks ! great Vid !! I think I have sand in the drum but not visible.. fallen thru the holes in the stainless drum.. I can hear and feel it if I turn the empty drum.. is there an access to clean that?thanks ! Steven (Whirlpool WFW75HEFW0)
I have watched several videos this one seems very simple. My problem is not necessarily with the seal. My washer is not leaking, but there is a seal that is plastic and I think rubber that goes around the metal drum that is getting eaten up. Is there a video on how to replace that plastic housing that goes around the drum?
Thanks in advance.
Do you mean the front half of the outer tub? If so we do not have a video for this one yet. You can go to our repair forum and our techs can help you out!
Using a vise grip worked better for me when putting that springed ring around the seal.
+Joseph Caban Thanks for the tip, hope the video helped you out!
My front loader is this exact model but I ordered, installed and successfully tested bellows part #8182119. I have part #8181850 in an unopened box to return, unsure if that part would have worked as well.
It is best to use the one that the model number calls for. Glad you were able to get the washer repaired!
AppliancePartsPros That was my intent, to use the correct part. But after going to the official websites (Whirlpool, Sears, etc.) just to check on the part number for the model, it came back as #8182119 for the bellows. The video above didn't exactly specify the washer model number in order to do the search. Only after the fact did I get a glimpse of the model number of the washer in the video in a screenshot while the door was open. I was being careful because minor changes in these washers can result in wrong parts ordered.
I need to replace the fiberglass where the bellow tub seal goes over. Pieces of the fiberglass ring are coming off and also there is close that gets jammed in there. What is the part number for that piece? TIA
You can go to our website and enter your appliance model number to view the parts breakdowns to be sure you get the correct part for your model. www.appliancepartspros.com/
My duet washer has a single piece front panel. It does not have a separate lower part like shown in the video. Will I be able to remove it without removing the top panel? I'd like to do it without taking the dryer off if possible.
ethan clay You can enter your appliance model number on our website to view the breakdowns. It will help you see how the appliance comes apart.
My Duet new gasket also had a small hole at the very top. My old gasket did not have the hole. There was no hose in my machine. Was this hole added to stop the mold issue inside the machine? thus the recall....
The manufacturers do not always share why they redesign parts!
I NEED that little hole and my gasket does not have it. Great video, really!! But now have the wrong part and my washer is in pieces. Boo hoo for me.
will this seal work for the duet sport?
There are a few of these seals. I can not tell if this is the one you need, just by Sport. Please go to our site and enter your model number, you can view the diagrams and get the correct seal.
does the gasket no connect to the drum also? I didn't see any attachment to the metallic drum itself, only attachment to the white metal exterior. My gasket seems to leak where it would connect with the drum, but I can't find any videos about that interface
richard coughlan The inner drum has to be free to rotate so the gasket is only attached to the outer drum.
I am good until 2:11 mark. My washer doesn't have the Whirlpool logo slot nor the top inside locking tab. I am stuck on what to do next. Model WFW9200SQ02. Help is appreciated.
This video below may be a little more helpful for you. If you have any questions please let us know!

Close but there is a plastic tear drop cover around the door and over the control knob/buttons. Once I broke most of the clips holding that on, trying to remove it, the process was similar to this. Really wish those clips hadn't broken.
forgot to show the removal and installation of small hose attached to bellows
+Michael Sven Eriksson On this model there there was only the large detergent nozzle. Your model may be a little different and you will have to adjust the procedure. Hope the video helped you get the bellow changed!
He forgot to show how to install the nozzle at the top of the bellows where that little hole is.
+Joseph Caban On this model there there was only the large detergent nozzle. Your model may be a little different and you will have to adjust the procedure. Hope the video helped you get the washer fixed!
I am curious about this also. The bellow in your video clearly has the hole for the small white nozzle that is on my existing bellow. It is to the right of the detergent nozzle, centered just inside the door under the Whirlpool logo.
The thing I am confused about is that the replacement bellow i ordered does not have a hole for it. Is it even necessary to have, or can i disregard the small white nozzle from the old bellow?
I have not tried to take the unit apart yet, would like to know if i need a different bellow before i do.
Is there a list of tools needed??
There is a list of tools located in the video description. You will need: Torx 20 screwdriver, flathead screwdriver, channel lock pliers

You can pay someone else a couple of hundred bucks if you want.
please remove that stupid banner from the bottom of the screen it is blocking the essential parts
+moe roy Sorry the banner got in the way! Hope the video was still able to help you get the washer fixed!
Whirlpool's stupid design. Having to take the whole machine apart to replace a boot gasket. Way more complicated than it should be.
+antique1973 Hope the video helped you get the washer fixed!
+AppliancePartsPros Thanks for the video.
