  • In this video, I explore how to change the oil & filter and the spark plugs. I used crude Honda 10w40 oil and a Fram filter. I replaced the generic off-brand plugs with NGK. Started and ran smoothly

    Anti Seize is no longer necessary on modern plugs since the threads are zinc platted. Just keep in mind if the threads are shinny, you don't need Anti Seize.

    Great vedeo mate 👍 recently I buying a xj900 84model I need change a oíl on engine and on rear axle to!! Probably the 4plugs to!!🤔 I think is a similar like yours🤔 anyway thanks for showing us how is a process 👏👌 cheers from Norway 👍

    This may be a long shot but could you help me get my x 650 started? when I go to start it the relay/solenoid clicks but the starter doesn't turn or attempt to turn

    The orange plug at the bottom is the oil indicator.

    Hey Kevin I thought when you were first starting it I saw your head gasket leak on the video when the cylinder was full of fuel maybe you want to watch the video and see but I could swear I thought it was blowing out of there probably because the motor was partially hydrolocked from the fuel but you may be all right who knows

    If you clean out the tics vacuum rail it will idle much smoother and the throttle response will get crisper. But nice work man.

    Just got a 81 XJ550 that needs to new carb intake boots as well. Did you end up replacing yours? If so what kind did you use?

      Hello. I bought new ones from eBay, went to install, broke the first stud I tried to loosen. I epoxied the crack in it and never looked back. Ha ha

    Was hoping to find a video on replacing the front brakes. I need to replace mine, but I can't figure out how to get the caliper off

    The preferred oil for these engines is 20w40 or 20w50

      That was my makeshift gas tank. Gasoline straight into the carbs

    What type of fram filter exactly? I just got a 1982 xj650 and am new to this

      It is a cartridge filter. Part CH6003. I am new to this too so we will learn together. Ha ha
