The swing arm and final drive needed some close attention to make it suit the newly cleaned engine. after opening it up and realising how big of a job it was to strip down the final drive I made the decision to leave It put as there was no issues with it. so I just gave it a clean and buttoned it back up! really happy with the outcome with even just a rattle can finish
I will put fresh oil back in when its fitted to the bike again

My Saturday Morning is now complete!! A Jish Video! My Friend....I'm truly proud of you and how far you've come since the early days of the 125 build. I see a Parts Washer and perhaps a Vapo-Blaster of your own one of these fine days. But you've amassed a grand group of people to help where your equipment falls short. Fast forward 2-3 years, Jish Motor Works will be a reality! Cheers my Friend! Zip~
Your comments always warm my soul Zippo. Have a merry christmas!
@@jishh, i feel like I've been along side of you through your journey. Always learning, and self motivating your self and craft. Always admitting your mistakes and realizing they are an opportunity to learn instead of give up. To better your self and to always look ahead to the final dream. Thinking back to the 125 and all the problems with the wiring and electrics, your color choice, seat design, riding position, stance...you've got an eye for this and the drive to perfect your craft. I speak only the truth my Friend. You're a force to be recognized in the Bike Shed Builder Community. Cheers and Merry Christmas to you and yours! Sean~ (Zip~)
Jish Motor Works! I can’t wait 👍🏻
When wire wheeling springs put a thin rod on the inside of the spring so it doesn't get tangled in the wheel. To get that broken pinch bolt out, put some major heat (torch) to it to help break free.
I was worried about that spring getting stretched.
Thanks for the tip!
And its a pretty hefty spring so wasn’t worried about it stretching 😊
Your cinematic shots are so damn good, the quality still floors me with each video I watch.
Loving the videos mate. I hope you go a little more into the technical side while putting it back together. I’m sure anyone restoring an Xj650 right now would appreciate it. Thanks
I would love to but i am terrible at talking and explaining 😅 i figure things out as i go along
Great work, m8. Watching this series is inspiring me to completely restore my XS750
Glad to hear my friend! Good luck with your restoration 👌
When you clean that gunk using razor in 1:40 it's so satisfying damnn
I love those shots 👌
Starting teardown of my swing arm myself. Not looking forward but needs to be done for power coating. Awesome video Jish!
Goof luck bud! Thanks for the comment ⚡️
Most satisfying and nice toons!
Cheers mark ⚡️
What a transformation!
I enjoy your videos, Jish. Nice to see the progress. 👍 🏍
Loved the videoEdit 👍 always lokking Cinematic AEE 😁
Thanks man! I take pride in my edits and hearing your comment makes it worth it!
OK I came across this video by accident. it's the first time you came up in my recommendations. I have a 1983 XJ650 that I got in 2001 and did some cleanup work on it like this, but mine was not as bad condition as yours. I did clean all the aluminium corrosion off the rear drive but never thought about spray painting it like this. that stuff did a great looking job. I went back to part 1 to see if you mentioned the year of your bike but didn't see it. what year is that one? mine is a little different style with a more tear drop tank and mine has the YICS on it. I retired mine to the shed 6 years ago now as it has become my vintage museum piece that nobody ever sees. It still looks good and was running befoer I prepared it for permanent storage.
Its a 1982 ✌️
Nice job man real inspiration to do something like this myself
Glad to hear man!
Excellent as always mate .... 👍
Appreciate it paul ⚡️
Nice job Jish, looks great!
Bit by bit its getting there!
@@jishh Enjoy the holiday's!
Merry christmas guys!

You've come along way since your first vids mate one might even say you a bona-fide custom bike mechanic 😉😊😊🏍️
Thank you man! Always room to learn and improve ✌️ happy new year bud!
@@jishh no probs mate and all the best ya never know I might actually make a start on my cd200 this year 😂 😂

Thanks bud! ⚡️
Jus started the vid! Get it jish!!! 👊🏻
Nice job Jish, I love it
Great job!
Thanks chris!
Really great filming and editing on this vid!
👌👌 my guy! You should have a go at making your own build videos 😉
Jish I honestly don’t have the skills, patience or time! I did get a mobile gimbal to try some video shooting but not even managed get to grips with that yet. Ha!
Awesome video! Your xj is gonna be 👌🏻keep it goin!! Wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy new year.
Merry christmas dude! Should have one more video to post before the years out 😘
Jish awesome! Another xj650 vid It’s like an early Christmas present!!
Good stuff. Keep it up 👍
Great finish. Have you though of swapping the four nuts connecting the swing arm to the casting for domed head nuts.?
I did but the threads seem a little too long for them and dont fancy cutting them down 😅
Or maybe some flange nuts? Look a bit more factory than the spring washers. But in any case, lots better than it was and will do the job 💯
Nice job mate 👍
Appreciate it Andy ⚡️
Great video!
Thanks man!
What methods were you utilizing to restore the rubber boot on the drive shaft? Looks good.
What’s the name of that paint again?
As good as always👌🏻
why paint it silver? use baking soda to sand blast the metal and it will polish to a matt silver, the just polish a tad and your good
Come up nice that mate 👍🏻
Came out better than expected 👌
How'd you get the swing arm bearing races out? Great video!
Hello! Where can I find the Book you are using? Greeting from Germany 🇩🇪
Has it been sunken in the ocean?! 😅
Hey Jish! Love this series ! Was wondering what that spary is at 1:51 you used to clean out the final drive, gonna have to replace mine soon..
Initially I thought you'd had the drive assembly aqua blasted, I guess the final results were similar.
I thought about it, but i didnt want to risk getting any material inside as it would be a nightmare to clean out. Came out well though!
I believe in one of your videos you sent the engine to sand/vapour blasting without taking it apart. I cannot find it.
The vapour blasting companies around me saying I need to take it apart
I did indeed! Just like paint, its all in the prep work. Keep trying until you find a vapour blaster who will
@@jishh can you point me to the video?
Part 23 :)
@@jishh great I want to see how did you protect the holes
Hya sir i have this bike in india ..i want to rebuild it can share some of parts of it to india
Hi
Did dou check the Play in the diff ? , would of been nice to see that.
Sorry i didnt film it but i did indeed and was pretty good! The bike seems to be solid on the inside but just dirty and rusty on the outside due to sitting there for years
Looking fantastic, awesome videoing work too. I also use Ryobi One power tools, pretty good quality/value. Just wondering why you went with high heat paint for the silver, does that part really heat up that much?
Thanks buddy! I used it just because i had it to hand and know it had a nice look/finish to it
Great video, but next time please put less volume on the music.
LOL There's NO way that was the correct gear oil in that final!
Not even put new oil in yet as i wanted to do it when it was fitted back to the bike 😅 i will make sure i put back in the correct stuff
@@jishh it looked like normal 10w40, but should use 80-90 weight in the final. Hypoid gear oil. Stuff wreeks.
