F-4C is great.Helps for grinder aswell.Idk why but once you get 10 minutes of fuel.The performance of this F-4 is an absolute monster. Got a lot of energy to dogfight against F-5C and A-5C

The AIM-7Deez nuts can be pretty fun to use. They fly straight for a lot and take a weird flight path as long as the motor is burning, so don't even bother launching if you can't give them some gliding time. However, they can glide for insane amounts of time and distance and will hit the mark at the end if you can maintain lock. I've had 6-7km launches hit at high alts consistently. Ppl at this br don't expect missiles with this range and will be caught off-guard. Even if they have rwr, the missile will be invisible for the majority of the flight time if you launch it far enough away. They'll have no idea when to dodge or most of the time just think it's out of range and fly straight away, only to eat the chungus.
It feels like a good plane, its only issue is the amount of 30G missiles that exist at 9.7-10.3 it could exist relatively decently at 10.3, if only it had countermeasures yea people complain about the countermeasures not being historical on the 4-C, but gameplay wise it would be a good addition

Sad to say though, no videos on the F4C, I mean, 10.0, no countermeasures, poor maneuverability, horrible dogfighting... everyone focuses on the F4E, but as if timing could not be any better, here comes a video, and not from any RUclipsr but the best source and player I could ever get it from, the one and only DEFYN, what a miracle, but regardless, great video and a lot of things to take note from :D

I might be insane, but despite the lack of countermeasures or high-G missiles, I prefer flying this thing over the F-4E at 11.0. I strongly dislike fighting MiG-23s and Tomcats with all aspect missiles and long range radar/IR missiles, so the extra agility and improved missiles aren't worth the tradeoff in BR. Especially since the 9Js seem to hate me, and miss shots an AIM-9B would have connected...
Been flying this out post update. It's fun slinging radar missiles at the su spam. Many new players don't know what their doing, and get caught out. Most of the time they turn head on, but by that time I've already got a lock and have slung a missile their way.

Tip for anybody who wants another option for missiles, bring a rocket pod. It will hit your top speed a bit but you get a discount Wish countermeasure pod
I love watching your videos even if I don't fly the plane in question I always learn about how to counter it or something I can apply when flying other planes It may be a very stupid idea but il try flying the F-104 like this. I haven't had much luck with it before but perhaps playing it more like the F-4C will improve my performance
I loved play the F-104G, just keep your speed high and don't try to dogfight, third partying helps a lot, same with diving from space (if you have flares and chaff because F-104's at altitude early game without countermeasures are mostly dead upon being spotted)

When grinding this plane I found that the most enjoyable playstyle was plunging headlong into the fight with the 3 30mm's and stealth belts. 9/10 would recommend
great vid. i know you focus on the fighter portion, but f4c is best bomber in the us tech tree. its low key but worth mentioning because its so low key.
There was a huge radar buff for the f4c a couple of weeks back, the aim7d now can get a guaranteed kill. Issue now is the small range of the aim7d. Problem with sarh is that you purposefully tunnel vision, and the aim7 cant dogfight, so its not a headon missile. You have to launch at 7-10km out and follow your target, making you hugely vulnerable.
Defyn has the amazing ability to make even the biggest piece of shit look good lol it's honestly crazy I'm going insane trying to spade this thing rn bcs I love phantoms and the only other thing I have to do is the F-100 which I've gotten further than halfway on both
I feel bad because I started out loving the F-4C and I knew it would be bad but I just can't help but hate it after all the pain it's caused me and has yet to cause me :(
Hey Defyn, when it comes to SARH missiles have you tried using the rectangular display and the B-Scope? Not only does it give great information about the range of the missile which eliminates guesswork about whether the missile is in range, it also allows you to lock on to targets much more easily. Edit: congrats on 50k!
I don't want to ask you to make another video for the F-4 E, but could you maybe just give some quick thoughts on the plane and where it sits in the current meta and (especially early game) how to engage the enemy/ things I could leverage to my advantage with it over its peers? Also, if its just one of those hard to use ones I'll just go grind the F-4J and be a missile bus. Thank you again for all the amazing content, I wish you the best and maybe one of these days I'll end up on that patron list.
I don't know why people hate this plane, it can carry 3 gau's, 4 aim 9 E's, and can damage a base heavily. Just go around the map!!!!! BOMB THE BASE THEN TURN INTO THE FIGHT
Warthunder should just change it to an F-4B. Yes i know that it's not an air force variant, but it does have the ability to carry CMs, 9D and I believe 7E. Should allow it to be quite good as a 10.7.

The extra agility is very worth though, still one of the best top tier jets
The amount of aoa you could pull to sit one someone's ass with a vulcan is megafun
It's also my first 11.0 vehicle, so that's most likely the problem. I just haven't learned how top tier works yet!
