Really, cause on Jan 1, 2024 there were 5. 5 or 6 is usually the number. I think you're confusing the fact that there are over 40 bowls spread out between mid Dec to Mid January.

Thank you so much for this! I was a 21 year old young man when this game was played. I'm now 67 years old. I can remember how cool it was to have the Huskies back in The Rose Bowl. No one in the media gave Washington much of a chance to even hang with Michigan, let alone win the game. Maybe the best Rose Bowl in many years.

Due to NBC using their top two crews on New Years Day (actually January 2 in 1978) Dick Enberg who wasn’t a full time football broadcaster for NBC in 1977 did the AFC title game the day before.(And if the Rams had beaten the Vikings in the playoffs he wouldn’t have been available as he did Rams radio at the time.

If only Seattle police had listened to her when she told them on several occasions she thought her fiance Ted might be responsible for the recent murders and certainly looked like the sketch from the police artist and drove the same car they were looking for. Bundy also lucky there were no CCTV, Security cameras and other Cams back then.

At halftime I was WTF with Michigan down 24-6. The third of 4-5 Rose Bowl losses for UM from 1969 to 1978. Back then you could sadly count on Michigan and OSU to be exposed in bowl games. The Buckeyes even lost to Clemson, the Wolverines to North Carolina. All of their focus and planning was to win their rivalry game. Bo was 5-11 in bowl games, like he didn't know how to prepare for PAC-10 teams, who would run circles around them in Pasadena on natural grass. Big, slow,White farm boys whose power running strategy would never work against opponents with speed and sophisticated attacks. They even lost to Arizona State in the Rose Bowl, playing in their first New Year's Day game in ......ever. Against Auburn and Bo Jackson, Michigan lead 7-6 forever, but years of seeing Bo's offense sleep walk through bowl games, it seem inevitable they would not score again and the Tigers would kick a winning FG, and they did.

True story though, Ted Bundy after escaping the 2nd time from jail in Colorado, flew to Chicago, then took a train to Ann Arbor Michigan so he could watch his favorite team the Washington Huskies play Michigan in a packed Wolverine bar. After the game he stole a car and drove to Atlanta, then took a bus to Tallahassee where the bastard murdered 3 more females.
