I found this little gem on a tape I got that originated in Wisconsin. As I understand it first aired in 1983, but I believe this was recorded in the 90's. It was aired during a PBS telethon and decided to leave the telethon at the end. #packer #nfl #greenbaypackers #history #nflhistory #football #footballhistory

I found this unlabeled disc thus we're jumping a little back into the 2002 season. Perhaps the first NFL game of Brady vs Brees, in a couple months I'll upload a college Brady vs Brees game. My telecast was joined in progress so I ended up trading for the first few minutes of this game. The audio is a bit low on those first minutes. I could have turned it up, but decided I'd rather not re-encod...

@@collegefootballhistorian2078 Yeah but in my opinion Michigan shouldn’t have been that big of an underdog against Ohio State, especially with the level of players Michigan always gets every year. The Buckeyes were a good team in 1996 but if they were in the Big XII that year they would have had multiple losses.

There have been some really iconic announce teams. The 70's had the Monday Night Football crew. The NFL Today had Brent Musberger, Irv Cross, Jayne Kennedy, etc. Fox had Madden and Summerall. Every one of them were great in their own way. Madden however loved Lambeau Field, he loved Brett Favre's play, and he loved the Packers history. He was always fun to watch and listen to.

1:35:51 This was November 12th. Roone would pass away less than a month later on December 2nd. And don't forget he was the one who made ABC Sports and News into the powerhouse that it was.

Roone was a legend. If you ever search 1970's NFL you'll find so many of the games on youtube are old monday night games. This is because Roone told somebody to save the tapes. Roone is akin to Pete Rozelle, they are the creators of the Machine.

I am not commenting on AC however I do recall Dexter Manly coming out when he was a star in the NFL admitting he could not read. The complication of this is what it says about the university. It's fair to feel it's doesn't necessarily mean such a player is not dumb given the complexities an NFL playbook and the income inequality-racism built into the system especially looking back a few decades. It does however make you wonder how such a person could pass a test or write a paper in the university.

This was the first year that the NFL moved up the Saturday Divisional Playoff games from the 12:30 and 4 pm time slots to the 4:30 and 8 pm time slots. Just a week earlier the Saturday WC games got moved up to the same time slots as well. And the reason for all this change and shakeup was to be fair to all the viewers watching from coast to coast. Especially the West Coast Viewers . And to boost up the ratings of NFL playoff games. The next year the Conference Championship games followed suit. And then later the Sunday Divisional Round games starting in 2019. And since the NFL made this move the ratings have gone up and it’s pleased the fans and the players. This year changed the way we watched playoff football forever.

Yes, I do recall. The funny thing was before this I wished I lived on the west coast so I could start watching football at 9am. At that time my Saturdays started with game day at 11 am and ended around 1:30 am when the Hawaii game ended. LOL
