    For those in USA they have the basic pyrography pens for about 26 or 27 usd. Works great. My walmart (I've seen these in several walmarts) has a pack of disks you can work on as well. You can get the tool and those disks for about 30 to 35 and technically have all you need for starters.

    I used to do wood burning way, way back in the day when I was a kid. Cause back then, parents bought their sons tools to set fire to wood.
    The smell is all that I remember. Quite fondly.

    Greetings from Ireland. . I've started getting into pyrography, and yep I started on pine. I can draw quiet well freehand, and produced some nice stuff as a beginner . But pine off cuts from planks and I've planed them and sanded them but I now understand the grain pattern burns at varying depth of burning.
    You have explained things far better and straight to the point . So thank you for your information and look forward to learning more . Joe

    Literally sitting here with a pyrography machine just arrived in the post so started to check out how to use it to take my turned bowls and boxes to another level. This was the best video Ive seen and given at my level so it made a lot of sense. Thank you for taking the time to create and upload such a useful video.

    I use transfer paper just like this. I tried drawing straight on the wood but took much longer to get a stencil. I have been wood burning for a couple of years now. Never underestimate the use of colors added to your burns. Thanks for the video

    I recently got into pyrography a few weeks ago. I got a super inexpensive wood burner from my local Walmart and some free wood from the local home depot scrap pile. The wood I got has a light of varying grain patterns so trying to do my projects that come out good has been a struggle. The soft parts of the wood vs the more harder parts. I can totally understand what you mean with the inconsistencies in the line work. It's been a good practice (to get me used to woods with different grain) and the pieces ive done on those wood pieces so far technically have only been practice but the people around me say they look fantastic even with the inconsistencies so that brings great joy. I'm also looking forward to being able to get better wood with less pronounced grain switches. Since I'm doing so good with the wood that is naturally difficult to work with I can't wait to see the results of the work I can do when it's easier wood. 😊

    I just started pyrography and I am doing birdhouses. I just want to tell you that this is the best of videos on this topic I have seen. I have watched plenty. You held my interest and for a beginner it was easy to understand your instruction. What was funny is when you said I could use a rubber to erase the carbon paper my eyes got wide. Luckily you translated, lol. Thank you for a great video, I subscribed and liked. I also ordered a copy of your book. One more thing, I sincerely like you. You give off some great vibes, nice human!! I started off with the soldering iron type to begin with which I did a head of a labourer for a friend who just lost his dog , then I bought one that a friend made that had two pens but it wasn't that powerful so the tips had to be quite thin . I've just bought another machine that uses a thicker wire and has a digital display but only one pen so can't wait to see how it performs

    Started a few weeks ago with a basic walnut hollow versa tool, cause I didn't want to spend a load on a higher end set up and have found I love pyrography as it is quite therapeutic for me, gives me an outlet to create. May look into a set up like you have with the 2 pens and wire nibs, as I get impatient waiting on the tool to cool before changing tips. Btw, love your mandalorian on your piece, I did one myself and the project is posted on Instagram. Keep on keep'n on. 👍

    I print using a laser printer (the kind that uses toner instead of ink) and transfer the image using a normal fabric iron on high.
    A little pressure and heat and the image transfers perfectly. Gotta be a little careful of warping with thinner woods. Takes a little trial and error but it's my go to.

    if i stain the wood can i still burn on it or do i do it before the stain?

    • @KingBespokeCreations
      @KingBespokeCreations  3 года назад +2

      I would go before the stain, just in case the heat reacts with the stain. Try a test piece first and see how you get on!

      Don't do what I did and worked over a pre stained piece of wood. The fumes where horrendous and it burned the stain or varnish. So it burned nicely in the wood 🪵burner.

    Can you stain the wood after the burn?

    • @KingBespokeCreations
      @KingBespokeCreations  4 года назад +1

      Good question! Yes, obviously the surrounding wood will stain, but the burned sections will take stain depending how heavy the burn is. With a strong burn it almost ‘seals’ the wood. (Which is why ancient Japanese used it to preserve). It would give a lovely effect and make a lot of the burn really pop. Try it on a test piece and let me know what happens!

    Video very informative, unfortunately I am quite hard of hearing and the background music at the beginning completely spoiled it for me. I wear hearing aids and tend to avoid videos where music is played. Hearing aids do not cut out background noise, so maybe either turn it down or better still why have it anyway?

      Thanks for your feedback Brenda. This video was very early in my RUclips journey and sound was an issue. I now try to keep music to none speaking sections only 👍

    • @KingBespokeCreations
      @KingBespokeCreations  3 года назад +1

      You want to look for woods with very little grain pattern. Limewood /basswood is a very good start. But honestly just try different types

    Wait, are you a lefty too? I have the same pyrograph, I believe it's the best of the cheapest ones on Aliexpress :) I haven't figured out using it yet, I just put one of flat, pointy tips on mine and tip started smoking on 130 I think 😬 It's a scary world for electrophobes!

    • @KingBespokeCreations
      @KingBespokeCreations  4 года назад +2

      Usually if the tip gets hotter than expected, check the screws are tight. It might be shorting. Also, yes a lefty! (Mostly!)

    • @samara.morgan
      @samara.morgan 4 года назад +1

      @@KingBespokeCreations I'm not sure how tight is too tight, I don't want to ruin the thread :l And I don't know if it got hot, it started smoking right after I increased voltage so I turned it off and tried to tighten screws. Later I'll check if it works properly, thanks for your answer :)
