- Not all sealcoating applications are created equal. Neither are sealcoaters. Our process starts with a top of the line product, then to the proper preparation, and finally application and clean-up. We hope you enjoy and let us know if you have any questions about this video or how we sealcoat. We’d love to help even if you are outside our service areas.
Great Job Guys👍🏽
Great Job with this driveway
Those cracks are not filled. After all is said and done you should NOT see any cracks at all, just the strips from the filling. Why shortchange the customer?
Wrong
@@5teveV cracks should be completely filled and flush. yes
4:30 He clearly states there's a difference between crack sealing and crack filling. They only sealed the cracks.
Fill the cracks with GE 100% advanced black silicone! Works great!
Just got into sealcoating, my boss is with my girlfriend's mom. He's been doing it for 15 years and uses brushing only, it's hard work but it's pays off to see the customer's expression when they see it done.
Thanks 👍
You still see the cracks, its not filled all the way 🤷🏼♀️
In your video all of the cracks are still showing. In my opinion the crack sealer should be a lot thicker so as to penetrate the crack. Also staying the sealer is a no........no. The spray is very thin and not covering the driveway not uniformity a hit or miss type of application.
Where can I buy the 3 foot wide brushes used to apply the sealer?
what is the crack filling material
what's best for fixing big cracks?
Nice work! How do you keep the tip of the spray wand from hardening when you use it to cut in? Doesn’t it harden to the point you can’t get the spray tip in after a while? Thanks
I know I'm late watching this vid ..I thought id share my method with you,and the way I keep my tip from building up and hardening is to keep it clean after every use with water.. cleans up easy and ur all set for next time . I also take the tip off and wrap the wand end n a little plastic when not using it . But in between spraying and cutting in I switch over frequently on a job and as long as I don't let the wand sit in direct sunlight for more than a few mins u will b fine ..hope that was helpful
Gasoline if it’s hardened
My driveway looks like this and has cracking I’d like to get it sealed this year am worried if I don’t that the whole driveway will have to be torn up
I wonder why the customer chose spray over brush. Brush is always better.
totally agree
This is not always the case. Sometimes brush is better, sometimes one coat, sometimes 2 coats. It depends on the.conditipn of the ashpalt.
Great video. I'm thinking about starting a small sealcoating side business. Want kind of sprayer pump do you recommend?
Probably a Wilden 2 inch diaphragm pump. We haven’t had much luck with the hydraulic pumps.
@@collettpropane How long do you have to wait for the crack fill to dry before you can put the sealer on?? Thanks!
@@collettpropane if your just getting started, a 1 ½" Wilden pump will do just fine. My first rig was a sealrite 300 gallon spray rig, it came with the 1 ½" pump and suited me well. Just make sure you winterize your equipment well and it'll treat you well.
are these products coal tar/ Bitumen ? Can you give any link where it is sold ?
We use this company - neyra.com/products/sealers/neyra-force/
How much workability time do you have to get the footprints out?
all depends on the temperature that day if its 80+ youll be running to make sure the footprints dont set in or a decent method is to have a guy pushing the bulk of the material and the other guys job is to just get the footprints and focus on his brush pattern
What is the life expectancy of the cold pour compared to direct fire rubber
Rubber is always better, lasts a few more seasons depending on the weather conditions. Cold is always easier and quicker and when we do use it, we use more of a commercial style product over the "stuff" from the big box stores.
@@collettpropane we use sealmaster products. Just trying to see what would be better as far as time effenciency and always the quality of the product we use. Rubber has its downside when it comes to idle labor time waiting for kettles to heat etc.
that doesn't hide all the cracks after all the job done?
what brand of sealer do you use???
We use a company called Neyra. They have treated us well and have great products.
HOW MUCH GALLON OF SEALER I NEED FOR A SINGLE DRIVEWAY AROUND 500sqft
Brush isn’t always better. It depends on the asphalt and how pitted, smooth, old , or new it is. Also temperature (ambient and asphalt), humidity, if there’s direct sunlight or shade, the quality of the sealer and skill of the guy(s) putting it down. You will never see the difference if you do it right.
Most of our customers prefer the brushed method. While I agree a guy who knows what he is doing can spray equally as well, in our area the perception of the brush method is that is a better quality. Maybe it’s because there are so many Gypsies who buy 5 gallon buckets from Lowe’s then water it down and spray a drive and overcharge.
I have a trailer and spray i use 10% water never more so 300bgsllons of coal tar then 30 gallons if water. I spray nice and thick. I've seen some contractor's water it down 50% and in a month it's gone. When I spray it's about 2 yrs before it wears off.
How much was this job ?
Good work, but you might as well have brushed the whole job. I hate the difference in color between the 2 especially on a driveway.
I happen to agree. Plus when it is brushed it wears more evenly, in my opinion at least.
Agree brush will apply more of a mil thickness than spray.
Unless the guy spraying slows the pace but when you charge per sq ft as long as its black the customer won't know.
It's not like everyone has a mil gauge in his wallet.
So what did that job make you? $500 - $600?
Those Cracks should've been filled level... Won't take long for them to open back up....
"It looks shite'😂
Cold crack fill something a resident could do not to professional get a kettle
Why do you push instead of pull the broom so you don't have any foot 👣😂
kinda a personal preference thing maybe. I go back over all of it again to cover them so the edges get an extra run and it always turns out well.
Cold crack seal and a backpack blower. Seriously! Where are the broomers and the billy goat blower? Job looked ok when done except the shitty jagged entry. Why is the sealer so chocolate colored in every one of these sealing videos? The sealer I’m used to is black. Midnight without the moon black. And not as thin. Just curious
Billygoat and broomers didn’t make the cut. Tried to keep the video a littler shorter. It must have been the Go Pro or the sunlight, but when you stood on that drive that sealer dried black as night. It isn’t as thin as you’d think. We put less water in than our manufacturer recommends. We actually sell the crap out of bulk sealer to other outfits. Might not have got the job, but we at least get a cut.
In your video the lower part of the driveway had numerous cracks. The men went over the cracks and them added the sealer over the the cracks. When the sealer dried the cracks were still visible In my opinion the cracks are still there. I would think that a thicker amount of sealer would be added and applied over the severally cracks and worked into the cracks so all of the cracks were gone. Then I would add the sealer and wait till the sealer was dry. The home owner would like to have the lower portion of the driveway with no cracks showing.
that driveway looked like it still had sealer on it
👍🏻👏🏻

Hi..My name is Richard...what can I say about this video... umm well... half ass cleaning... using hot pour V squeegee eh..but remember the crack filler will show through the seal so try to make thinner lines...and last but not least OMG... pushing tar... sealing multiple areas??? for the size of driveway u where on lol... where's the unification.???.
Bad Job; didn't fill in all the cracks...........really bad job
I’ve been sealing for 40 years and there is nothing professional about this.
That cold pour is trash buy a crack filler machine you’ll thank me later
if you buy epoxy shoes you wont gave foot prints
That cold crack filler is just a gimmick,It gets hard and then it cracks open again. all I can say is it’s junk.
idk, i think a professional should be able to do the job without having to walk in the product... call me OCD
