I've been WFPB and oil free for about 2 years and always had a TERRIBLE time with intense hunger after dinner, which always led me back to the fridge despite my most heroic efforts. I removed salt and sugar from my diet 2 weeks ago and haven't had an urge to eat after dinner since. Not a single one. I don't believe it was fatigue that caused the late night eating for me. It was the 3 tbs of blue agave and soy sauce I drizzled on my dinner every night!!!

I love what Dr. Goldhamer said, starting at 1:00:34, about keeping everyone in the TrueNorth environment for optimal success. It’s absolutely is the truth, that, while in that place of positivity and learning, it is so EASY to stay motivated and on-track. I, personally, would LOVE to live (and work) in the wonderful TrueNorth bubble, with like-minded, truth- and health-seeking people. To be out of the protein-obsessed, SOFAS-saturated, madness, that is “regular” life, would be ideal. Having to fight, daily, against my people-pleasing nature and the whiny, stubborn people, who don’t want to give up their “comfort” tastes, for a whole-food, SOFAS-free diet, is EXHAUSTING (and a little depressing)!!! Thank-you, Chef AJ, for another amazing interview, with one of my heroes, too.💗. And, thank-you, Dr. Goldhamer, for your time.

Exactly - about the food allergy process. Years ago I went through that. Removed everything and then added things back. When I was able to return to "regular" foods I didn't put pork, beef or fish back. I stayed on a gluten-free diet for about 3 months before moving back to more foods. Later, years later, I've come to the conclusion that I don't tolerate wheat very well. So I limit it.

Exited as hell😂😂I’m laughing and crying at the same time. I had kind of the same reaction (after when I knew he was safe)when my unhealthy living husband got covid last year. But all the terrible things that happened weren’t enough to get him turned around. Its very sad but I realise it’s true that all I can do is nothing but my own job and hoping the next hit will severe enough but not too bad. It’s very scary though and causes lots of stress and anxiety. ( apart from the stuff in the house 😅). Thankyou very much for pointing this out dr Goldhamer. Helps me to be realistic. You can fill up on rice - or anything. But you have to remember that if you are trying to lose weight and you fill up on a more calorie dense food, you may sabotage your weight loss. That's why, if you're trying to lose weight, eat your least calorie dense foods first and eat a lot of them. Then eat your starchier foods like rice, winter squash, potatoes.

I am a vegan and when I eat sos free it does reduce my bloating, and when I eat processed food I bloat more again but even after 3 months sos free I still had post meal bloating, just less than on processed food. Also, the longer I eat sos free the slower the bloating reduction so it seems after a month I can't deflate more but then after 3 months I deflate a bit more. Is it possible I might deflate more if I continued being sos free for 6 months? It's frustrating how every time I eat something processed I lose weeks or months of de-bloating progress. It would be nice if I knew there were reason to believe my post meal bloating could continue to reduce more if I avoid processed food for longer periods of time.

    • @lf8238

I find a small amount of salt is necessary. It has a contractive nature due to the mineral content. It also helps acidify your stomach which helps properly digest foods. No oil, no sugar....I'm on board. But salt is neccesary.

Is he being funny -- or talking about degrees centigrade or what? All I know is that the lower the temperature I can cook something the better is my rule of thumb.

Yo. The Golden Hammer is BEGRUDGINGLY okay with using pressure on vegetables. THEN, he clearly VERY suspicious of “air-frying,” I mean, talk about substituting for drugs. Aspartame, erythritol, monk fruit sweetener, etc. instead of sugar is the vibe I get with “air-fryers.”
    Goldhamer is MUH BOY 👊🏼
Sorry, guys. I subconsciously shake my head when I walk past the full-blown air-fryer PLANOGRAM at Walmart. I see the look in the eyes of the normies, hopeful making just this one change is all it’s going to take.
Currently successful in all attempts to NOT lean and whisper, “let it goooooo” 🤫
Every time I launch a 4-piece in my InstaPotAto, I think, “this has GOT to be doing something viscous to these poor papas.
I have to think of pressure differently. I watched a grown man have his face removed by opening a 6,000-gallon-capacity vessel incorrectly, on the wrong side of the dome hinge, with 2lbs pressure on the vessel.
Pressure: block and bleed. Block. And. Bleed.
Sorry Chef AJ, gotta take Goldhamer’s sentiment on this 🙏🏻

I get home from teaching at 730 i have to b in bed by 9 to get up at 430 to get to work by 730. I cant get dinner ready before 8 and so i hav an hour to eat a salad and get ready for bed. Is he only working with people that have unlimited flex time or more hours in the day than the rest of the working population? There is no time to eat at work except for 25 min lunch and mayb an apple after school. No time for breakfast. When you hav to be at work by 730. I eat no junk but i sure am exhausted at the end of the workday and yes that is when I hav to get most of my nutrition for the day and then rush to get in bed. He sees people rich enough to come to True North. I posit that you guys are so unrealistic for the working middle class. The diet choices advice...yes, it is great..you can make those good choices no matter what you do for a living....but all this managing of times for eating..these people are not looking at the real world for those who work long hours and hav no choice about when we get to eat and sleep.

I put potatoes into my counter top oven, turn them on for 1 hour and go to bed- they are there in the morning ready to go. I have a slow cooker that I use that can cook either all night or all day. @@tessarosaliebrandt5793 hey Tessa. I retired. For the first 9 months I slept 12 hour nights and took a 1 hour nap. I felt rested but still very very tired a lot. Then I watched a video by Chef AJ several months ago where she interviewed Dr Peter Rogers. It was amazing...I went to his tiny you tube channel. He has philosophy lectures ( which I pretty much ignored)...and health lectures...which are incredible....heavy on biochemidtry that supports his observations. He is a radiologist who sees the images of what is happening inside people due to different diets. I followed his version of the plant based diet. My blood pressure dropped for the first time ever. I am now down to one 1/2 bp pill. My energy started coming back slowly but steadily. I now sleep 8 1/2 hrs per night on average...but if I need to sleep less for a trip I'm OK. I don't need naps ever. I now have energy and now I feel like exercising. I eat exactly the way he promotes...but I still eat whenever I want to and I don't look at the clock to determine when I eat. I do finish about 2 hours before sleeping. I never gain weight no matter how much I eat. So...yes...and thank you for asking....I got better. Did retiring make a difference...well my exhaustion did not improve..I just got to sleep a lot more..and woke up tired. It looked like I retired to sleep til death. I had loved my job so I didn't have undue stress with what I had been doing. Dr. Rogers made the difference. His you tube channel will pop up if you search Dr. Peter Rogers. He doesn't sell anything...doesn't promote products...just puts up these videos to help people. He responds in detail and quite promptly to every commenters question. I think the changes in my body are amazing...especially since I am in my late seventies. You are a kind person to ask.
