    Thanks for putting your time and effort into this video. It was quite helpful and informative. You should definitely send it back to taurus because there are videos out there of these being quite accurate so maybe you have an issue with your barrel. The keyholing is one of the reasons I passed on the snubby you chose. Id assume the 3 inch would probably stabilize the bullets more. One issue with these is that the cartridges tend to stick after being shot. Did you have any issues with that?

      Thanks for watching. I called Taurus last week and they recommended that I send it back to them. I’ll do a follow up video when I get it back

    All Brazilian handguns require some barrel breaking-in, especially the snubnose revolvers, especially the ones in .22 Magnum. This caliber was initially designed for rifles, the short-barreled handguns don't hold it well.

      Taurus could not repair the barrel. They could not get a replacement barrel. So they gave me my choice of firearm on their site to replace it with as long as it was the same price as the 22 mag.

    I have a 942 ultra lite 22lr. I had problems ejecting the spent shells with the ejector rod. To where I had to pound the ejector rod with full force 4 or 5 times just to eject the shells. Seems like the cylinder chambers are a bit oversized and causing the shells to expand and swell in the chambers after firing. Sent it back to Taurus today hopefully they change out the cylinder for a new in spec one.

    I like it! I think the 3" would be better. Hope it starts working better for you after a few hundred rounds or so. And you can maybe find some ammo it likes! I would like the ameriglo sight upgrade and a hogue grip on it would be cool! Best wishes! 👍

      Im going to try and order the Ameriglo sight next paycheck and hopefully that will help with the sights hitting so high. Im hoping that I can find a bullet that wont keyhole. If i cant I might send it back to Taurus to see if something is wrong with my barrel.

    I just recently purchased a new Taurus 942. It was defective out of the box, would not ignite any primers. Sent it back to Taurus, after waiting 3 weeks for an update they finally answered their customer service line. They said the frame was so defective they would need to destroy the firearm and issue me a new one, replacing the serial number. Wait 8 weeks for delivery and I have to do an FFL transfer AND pay for it. Just a heads up.

    I know the Smiths are much pricier, but with a few more months of use, do you have an opinion on whether the “upgrade” is worth it? I enjoyed watching your video and just subscribed. Thanks.

      The Taurus has been in their shop since I made this video. They said it needed a new barrel and some other parts. I would say from my sample size of one that the Smith is worth the money.

    Good video.I have the 942 & 942M but with the matted stainless finish. When you get some rounds through it,that trigger & hammer action will smooth up nicely.I know your's is the UL model but the trigger action should be the same.Your first shots pattern looked a lot like mine.I'd give it a good break in period, maybe 300 rounds before making any final decisions.I hope it works out for you.

    After three years on a waiting list to get one finally got mine a month ago. Had lite primer strikes in single and double action three different manufacturers of ammo. Sent it back to Taurus just got it back today. Invoice said adjusted hammer spring and adjusted trigger spring. This thing sucks double action hasta be 15 pounds. I do not have a trigger gauge but it is brutal to pull trigger, my942m ultra lite sucks… learn by my mistake Don’t buy one.l have been ripped off… by Taurus!

    • @arkansasoutdoorschannel1867
      @arkansasoutdoorschannel1867  5 месяцев назад

      From my understanding all double action rimfires have a very heavy trigger. It has to be heavy to make sure to get a strong primer strike on the rim.

    You might call Taurus and ask for ammo recommendations. Having been on the other side of the phone with a manufacturer, we tend to know what works well and what doesn’t.
    That being said, I understand the appeal of a .22 mag revolver, but since a lot of powder burns outside of the barrel, the juice ain’t worth the squeeze.

    .22 mag is a rifle round. This tiny revolver will ruin the reputation of this excellent caliber. This ammo needs to have a 5-6-iinch barrel at minimum! The same goes for snub-nosed. 357 (6-inch minimum)

They sell like a hooker giving free ass away…just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean others won’t I’m actually considering buying one for a backup gun if people carry .22lr In revolvers smaller than this I’m pretty positive this will be at least 1.5x better

      No but yes. Yes it can be done but no you should not do it. The cases on a 22lr can swell and not extract properly. At least that's what I have read.
