I'm so fortunate and grateful to have lived through the 70's and experienced some of the greatest music made. The lyrics and the talent from this group and so many others is sometimes overwhelming. Imo, music of today just doesn't bring it.
I agree that Negron was best on this tune, if you know TDN history, you'll know they each chose songs for themselves to perform & record, but they voted on the ones they wanted. Two votes out of the 3 got the nod. What about the band?? Powerful & awesome, all together they were one of the best ever. What harmony!!!
Danny and Cory are great volcalist. Chuck is also great. To compare which one is better, you cant. All three are excellent singers. 3DN should be in the Hall of Fame.
I thank God I lived through that period of my life to hear such good music which is still resonate even now compared today's music which doesn't have the body of great song writers/sound of fantastic bands.
Still hitting such notes!!! Are you kidding me??? And it sounds even better now they are older… A perfect example of the human voice maturing like wine and then blowing you away. A live version or harmonic perfection. It’s a beautiful thing.
Wow, this is absolutely amazing...I love the original version by Three Dog Night but this version with that orchestra is perfection, and oh those harmonies....Chuck Negron's vocals were powerful and this version with Cory is fantastic...he nails it and then some...LOVE IT 💜❤️💜❤️
Holy crap! What other band can still sound exactly like they did (or better) after so many years.Amazing.Orchestra made it perfect. What a gift they were to us.
+Wind Song This is crazy, I've came across this song 2 weeks ago for the first time. I've heard this version and loved it much more than the original, sad coincidence he passed away 4 days ago. RIP Cory!
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and whoever talks about Chuck in a negatory manner must not know the Chuck Negron Story. He's not proud of the things he went through but they are what brought him to what he is today and has been for the last 20 years, a wonderful singer, better than before and he truly doesn't even need any special effects to sound wonderful, much less an entire orchestra!
Damn. Choked up. What a version! Being a artist, musician, singer and producer, this version moved me more than any other versions I've heard. Cory knocked it out of the park effortlessly RIP.
Magnificent! This performance leaves me speechless! Why Three Dog Night is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame baffles me. And don't tell me the usual "Well, they didn't compose their own songs." A lot of inductees into the Hall of Fame didn't write their own songs. Three Dog Night was a fantastic group whose music has withstood the test of time.
My absolute favorite group... Close my eyes and remember the feeling of driving with the windows down in my 67 goat, with my soon to be lovely wife, back in 1970... Mannn. Makes me fell young again. Orchestra adds to that indescribable feeling.
This concert was performed with the Tennessee Symphony at the Renaissance Center in Dickson, Tn. The Renaissance Center's media department did the video production and post production. Awesome night!
Je ne connaissais que l'original qui est déjà très bien mais cette interprétation avec un orchestre symphonique est fantastique!!!! Merci Alcidesespinoza et merci RUclips
He forces himself to sing within himself by staying absolutely still and closing his eyes, and he keeps the words small to keep his lips neutral, and one of the greatest harmonisation I’ve ever heard.
My sisters and brother had all there albums. played there music constantly, so of course I grew to like them......I got all the albums handed down.........knew every song off my heart. Nice to hear really good songs again. Thank you.
Great song written by Harry Neilson My first song I ever heard of TDN. A year later saw them I was 12 years old ... blown away such pros and showman besides the Beatles this group had the next biggest influence on my musical career. They were beyond Sucsessful and they sol out stadiums across the planet make more money than any act over Zeppelin ever they broke many records the show must go on 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️💯
Incredible version. To hear Cory sound thar much like Negron and hit those notes at that age is unbelievable. Shows how awesome all three guys are/were. What a band.
After all these years, still a magnificent and powerful song. Doesn't matter whether its Chuck in it's original version or Cory in this version. Stunning.
Wow this one is lonelinest number is amazing song because is very fantastic Performance in Tennessee symphony orchestra concert Cory of 3 🐕 night sing very awesome though especially when Danny Hutton and Paul Kingly sing so wonderful
thats what youtube is for..if you dont like this version with the orchestra then find the many videos of this song without it..i personally like it..lots of rock bands sometimes put out videos of some of their best songs with an orchestra behind them...i think they nailed it..would it have been better with all three of them there..probably..but this still sounds pretty good..and for some reason, really like the xylophone sound at 5:00...
Chuck (a Bronx boy) still kicking at 75 he nailed it on the original back in the day but Cory's version took me back there! There was no place like the BX back in the 70's even tho it was burning!
This is just an amazing song. It was done here in Australia by a guy called John Farnham. It wasn't until my adult life I discovered the original. Its so good.
I saw 3 Dog Night last spring and had seen them in the 70's. As much as I would've loved to have seen Negron with them. Cory and Danny did an outstanding job. They have carried the 3DN name well. Totally agree.

Yes, it is time for them to be in the Hall of Fame.
Agreed ..

He sang like it's nothing to him. what a voice man...
He sang this perfectly, and the transition to falsetto done wonderfully.
I thank God I lived through that period of my life to hear such good music which is still resonate even now compared today's music which doesn't have the body of great song writers/sound of fantastic bands.

I commented on this before but those harmonies are absolutely incredible....LOVE THIS so much...Rest In Peace Cory ~

That's exactly what I thought
No kidding🥲❣💘
Greatest Singing Group of all time! That harmony is unbeatable!
One of the best groups ever! No other group quite like them. Just terrific musicians.

It gives me chills
Is this singer the same one who had long dark hair and a mustache in the earlier recording I saw on RUclips?
@@MC-fv4vv No that was Chuck Negron. Estranged from the band years ago
@@MartyBeneteau Thanks for the info!
First time I've heard this rendition!! Awesome! We'll miss you terribly Cory!!!

A lot of inductees into the Hall of Fame didn't write their own songs. Three Dog Night was a fantastic group whose music has withstood the test of time.
Love this! Combining a classic rock song with an orchestra makes it even better.
My absolute favorite group... Close my eyes and remember the feeling of driving with the windows down in my 67 goat, with my soon to be lovely wife, back in 1970... Mannn. Makes me fell young again. Orchestra adds to that indescribable feeling.
The memories are awesome

Best Harmonies ever. I got my first album 1970. Love all their music.

IM SPEECHLESS .. ....😲❤❤❤❤❤
He forces himself to sing within himself by staying absolutely still and closing his eyes, and he keeps the words small to keep his lips neutral, and one of the greatest harmonisation I’ve ever heard.
But he still pulls it off
Miss This Man....
Your pay particular to time to details. Highly respected.
No. He was looking at the lyrics under him
Right, sure. I guess when he looks out at the audience is when Cory suddenly “remembers” the lyrics… a song he harmonized on for 40 years.
Wow! The orchestra was fantastic, and of course Dog was perfection.
His transition from modal vocals to falsetto is seamless!
My sisters and brother had all there albums. played there music constantly, so of course I grew to like them......I got all the albums handed down.........knew every song off my heart. Nice to hear really good songs again. Thank you.
That was a terrific performance! Thank you for the video. The orchestral accompaniment was beautiful and Cory's vocal. Just great.
Best version ever
I just saw them tonight at the FRAZE in Kettering Ohio...
Man they brought the house down! GREAT SHOW
Absolutely Beautiful. Wow! Thankful I grew up then!
One of my favorite bands of the 1970's.
Cory was the best forever missed Thank goodness we can watch these videos. Cory 🙏
Three Dog Night Rocks!!!!!This my favorite!!!! Its done so beautiful The best show .!!!!!!
Incredible sound 45 years later. Wow TDN was one of the best groups around.
Great song written by Harry Neilson My first song I ever heard of TDN. A year later saw them I was 12 years old ... blown away such pros and showman besides the Beatles this group had the next biggest influence on my musical career. They were beyond Sucsessful and they sol out stadiums across the planet make more money than any act over Zeppelin ever they broke many records the show must go on 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️💯
Where have I've been? GOOD GRIEF... I just listened to this amazing masterpiece. No words.
Most beautiful version i've ever heard of this song since it came out.
I agree 100%! It is the most beautiful version. It brought me to tears.
Cory made this his song. Fantastic job!
Stunning, awesome, superb. After all these years still exceptional.
Cory (RIP) was such a classy gentleman. I enjoyed this very much!
So Many Great Hits From This Band!!! Wish They Were All Still Together Today!!! 🎸🔥☮️🎸mob
Incredible version. To hear Cory sound thar much like Negron and hit those notes at that age is unbelievable. Shows how awesome all three guys are/were. What a band.

Great group! Great song! Thanks for the memory!
After all these years, still a magnificent and powerful song. Doesn't matter whether its Chuck in it's original version or Cory in this version. Stunning.
I dont know why but i suddenly felt like listening to the song, i love listening to it over and over again.
They just ROCK!
Glorious vocals oh myyy!! Ist concert @ 11yrs young was Three Dog Night and I absolutely LOVE THIS!!! ❤
Remarkable they could still sing, if not, better than way back when . . . with passion no less !!! Outstanding -
He’s a beautiful man ! RIP Corey Wells 💜🎙✌️
The ‘70’s was the best era for Music…❤
HUH? I loved it. It was a rockin number done very well! Loved the orchestra and band together. Thanks for posting it!
Wow this one is lonelinest number is amazing song because is very fantastic Performance in Tennessee symphony orchestra concert Cory of 3 🐕 night sing very awesome though especially when Danny Hutton and Paul Kingly sing so wonderful
Of course I really appreciate it maybe Chuck negron because in live performance is pretty cool 👌 definitely fantastic
Absolutely 💗 felt moment at least is incredible when is miracle

Damn, I really love the Orchestra in the background. This really kicks ass. Thanks for the post.
Mike Allsup has the biggest grin on his face when Cory hits those high notes
Chuck (a Bronx boy) still kicking at 75 he nailed it on the original back in the day but Cory's version took me back there! There was no place like the BX back in the 70's even tho it was burning!
Just saw this. Great song 🎵 and an awesome performance.
Great song. Great performance. Rip Cory. Rip Chuck. And Rip Harry Nilsson
Chuck is still alive
This is just an amazing song. It was done here in Australia by a guy called John Farnham. It wasn't until my adult life I discovered the original. Its so good.
BRAVO ! BRAVO !
Beautiful orchestral arrangement on a classic. Love it, rock on guys!!!
still one of the best of all time .
God - these guys are still fantastic after 40 years!! Love 3DN!!
Chuck should have been there. He was Three Dog Night.. no doubt. Still fine and has the voice.
The orchestra is phenomenal with Cory's vocals!
So good to see these guys doing their music as well as or better than in the day!
que barbara, marnifica, fascinante esta interpretación nunca la habia oido.....aplausos de pie.
FUCKIN AAAAAA ❕❕👍👍
His VOICE STILL SOUNDS THE SAME AND AS GOOD BACK IN THE DAY ❕👍👍
Chuck Negron is originally the singer for one.
The conductor is feeling it for real
He wasn't trying to sound like Chuck.he rocked that song. Paul could have came in..and took it home, Cory ROCKED IT!!
The fact that these guys arent in the R&R HOF is a CRIME....
old memories from this song.
old, even though im only 19.
awesome song.
wow, a classic with the classy ...fantastic !

Danny Hutton has no interest in working with Chuck again. Go to Chuck's official Facebook page and you'll find out why.
What an incredible voice!
love this song and how they started smashing the hook near the end...gave me goosebumps
Corey is amazing, Really putting his stamp on this ONE
Cory is a great singer in his own right and has great soul and technique. I think however that Chuck had the most powerful voice of the three.
It’s just not the same without. Chuck Negron. He was my favorite singer. I wish him well in his solo career. He’s got a tough road to travel.
The orchestral prelude there sounded very remeniscent of Moody Blues Days of Future Past, with the harp, flutes and bells, etc...
I saw these guys in Gruene Teaxas, they were great
Wow, start to finish. They've still got it!
Cory doesn't look like he's trying hard at all....Cory's a Natural!!!!!
Stellar performance I watch this all the time.
his voice really is a force of nature
Chuck originally sang this but Corey certainly does it justice
isn't this from a pbs special?
and it is nilsson's song. made famous by three dog night, then by aimee mann.
i agree the big intro is silly.
but it's one of my favorite songs i've ever heard.
so any version will (almost) always sound good to me.

UNBELIEVABLE ! ❤❤
i liked the little orchestral part at the beginning. Brings back good memories.
With all my love and respect for Chuck, Cory (R.I.P) made this song much better in my opinion, could be awesome hearing this in a studio version as well (Even with the orchestra!)
Cheers fellas.

RIP Corey and thank you.
Oh Cory this is so wonderfully done.
RIP Corey Your a legend in Western NY
Great version with the full orchestra behind them!
Stunning preformance, god I love the triple voice part...
Three Dog Night @ Symphonic Orchestra ... Superb song @ sound !!!
