I saw them in 1991 in OKC. It was a company picnic for my wife's employer. They played inside a large horse barn on a very hot day. I spoke with a Jimmy Greenspoon. What a great time.

Devastated to hear the news. Three Dog Night was a magical chemistry of three brilliant singers and superb musicians. I am forever grateful for the music they made. It makes life so pleasant. I know Danny and Chuck are grieving. Prayers go out to Cory's family. Losing Jimmy earlier was dreadful and now Cory. I am numb.
I still haven’t overcome Jim Morrison’s death. I get very attached to musicians, since they take me to another realm God bless Cory and may God bless each of you reading this comment.
Yeah man they were one of a kind band so versatile they were sure among my favorites. They had a flavorable music that doesn't exist today much like back then. I'm glad I was raised up when I was and that's the truth if someone wasn't around then they wouldn't have a clue anyway that was when real talent was around.

Cory Wells (Emil Lewandowski-named after my grandpa) was my late father's cousin. So sad to learn about his death in 2015. I was able to meet him I think once, when I was a newborn. I never fully grasped that he was apart of my family til years ago, and started to listen to them more and more after my dad passed, then him. So much talent..all of them in the band! Love Three Dog Night. Seriously some of the best music I've ever listened to. I could listen to this song over and over.
My step dad was one of the original members of three dog night back in 1969 he played guitar and horn. But right before their first album came out he left the group over a disagreement with Chuck. I think I would have stayed in the group. 3 dog night is my fave music.
I don't know why they are not in the rock and roll hall of Fame they had one hit after another back in the late 60s early 70s I bought all of there albums and singles
My first bout with plagiarism involved the chorus of this song. Freshman English class I had to do a speech on “Earth Day” so I finished with -we must end pollution “Before the sun is just a bright spot in the nighttime.” My teacher said she toyed with giving me an F because I didn’t give proper attribution, but she gave me a C because I referenced pop culture & she liked Three Dog Night. What a break for me, cuz that was back in the 70s when I think you could go to jail for plagiarism.
When I was maybe 9 or 10, my parents dropped me off to see their show. Since I was so short at that age, some guy in the audience (remember festival seating?) picked me up and put me on his shoulders so I could see. Chuck Negron pointed me out in mid-song and gave me a thumbs up - one of the highlights of my life. It meant a lot of a little kid. Can't drop a child that age off anywhere at night nowadays, sadly. I loved Three Dog Night - they didn't write any songs, but they sure did some great covers and originals. And I miss seeing Floyd Sneed on stage - one of my greatest early influences as a drummer. Great stuff.
This song reminds me of my sister, Laurie. We loved Three Dog Night, this was her favorite. She is down in the dumps so I'm sending this to her, hopefully to cheer her up.
Brings tears to my eyes. So loved this band, Cory in particular. Of all the groups that I wish or wished I could have known certain people personally, they'd be near the top. I think Cory was one of the great rock vocalists and performers of all time, and from his interviews, one of the most grounded.
Went to the car show at Anaheim convention center when then auditorium doors opened and some people drifted out, so we drifted in. Stayed for four Three Dog Night songs. First time I had seen any band-mesmerizing.
I was living up in Southern Oregon most of the year 2019. I was in a bad way, many ways, actually. I used to walk down to the Rogue River. I would find this page on my phone and cry my eyes out. I don't live there anymore, but everything else is still the same.

My favorite song of all times! Me and my car all alone out in the country listening to this song and watching the sun rise; forgetting this world and its cares.......what a beautiful dream!!!!!! Thank you Three Dog Night band members for bringing a lot of joy to our world.
Williams struggled with alcohol and substance abuse during the 70s and 80s. Sober since 1990, Williams has been active in the field of recovery from addictions and became a Certified Drug Rehabilitation Counselor through UCLA. In 2014, he co-authored Gratitude and Trust: Recovery is Not Just for Addicts, with Tracey Jackson.
Well thanks for this. I bumped into Paul Williams one afternoon in Minneapolis in Dayton's department store. I think it was 1980 maybe? We all know he was a little guy but he had three beautiful tall blondes on his arm. I grabbed my paper bag from my shopping and had him sign it and actually stuttered I'm your favorite fan😃😃
For me - this song was TDN's masterpiece. And of course - one of Paul William's finest works. I was lucky enough to see all the guys (except for Chuck) in different concerts and they always seemed to love doing this fabulous number. Cory could and would always sing up a storm, always in perfect pitch, along with Danny, and I was always amazed how well their voices did not seem to deteriorate with age, and were like a ring in a bell, with lots of power and projection. They always looked great, too. As a note here - Jimmy's wonderful and very memorable B3 keyboard solo in the middle of the song - adds a very nice touch to the number, as it always did. As others have said - both Cory and Jimmy's great talents are much missed but certainly not forgotten, and the fabulous Three Dog Night music lives on and on.
Mine too! November Jam in 73’ all day event with Tower of Power,Blues Image,Canned Heat,The Guess Who and a no show from Chuck Berry but TDN headlined and it was incredible..
These are real voices, musicians, and music. To me, this is what the soul needs and great for your psyche. This song is timeless and always sounds good. Let us lobby to have the arts in schools again. The music industry must return to women and men who understand creativity and talent. Soulless, digital, empty, schlock is not the answer. I had the pleasure of speaking with a parent whose 16year old and 18 year old sons listen to classic rock, soul, and blues exclusively. The 16 year old was wearing a Song Remains The Same Tour shirt. I shared with him I saw Led Zeppelin at the old Chicago Stadium just before the untimely death of John Bonham. He was elated!
Three years since the last post, I am here, reveling in the wonderful music like this which is imprinted on my memory, bringing me pleasant thoughts of times past. I have this vinyl record and will never part with it in my lifetime.
My favorite of all time Three Dog Night song. I was 11 when I first heard it in 1970. I was just learning to play guitar, and I remember playing the chord progression over and over (drove me folks nuts I'm sure). Played a cover of it in a couple of garage bands years later, and we had a pretty tight arrangement, but we were never as good as the original. Now, 52 years later, I still love the song just as much. Thank you for bringing back a happy memory from my youth.
I have always like TDN I grew up listening to this amazing group and only wish Chuck would have gotten back with them for the tour. To bad he didn't it would have been a great reunion with legends in music history. RIP Corey.
This song, just like Three Dog Night, is very underrated. Not for me. I happen to think that this is one of the best songs they ever did. Anyone agree?
...yeah. He was from Dunkirk, NY, a town south of Buffalo. He was born Emil Lewandowski and when the band hit it big, his friends back home castigated him for being a sell-out, playing “pop” music. Can you believe that?
This is just SO DAMNED GOOD. Three Dog Night was one of very few bands from the late '60s and early '70s who could play a 90-minute live show of nothing but one hit after the next. Think about that.
Three Dog night's "one is the loneliest number" was our graduating class song. We had a long caravan to K-State for a live concert the following summer. Good times to remember for a long time past.
Songs bring back such great memories. I've been a fan for 50 years. Out In the Country will always be my favorite. They should have been in the RR Hall of Fame a long time ago.

I am STILL SO Missing 3 Dog Nite Today, and after All these Years.. 💔❣️💔❣️💔❣️💔 8/27/24 1:38 pm. 😔
Back in the day, I cannot say how much I loved both the message and this song.
I have always like TDN I grew up listening to this amazing group and only wish Chuck would have gotten back with them for the tour. To bad he didn't it would have been a great reunion with legends in music history. RIP Corey.
'Rest in Peace, Corey.' 💔 🙏 ❣️
This performance was near Nashville at a performing arts center located in Dickson, Tn. I was in the audience. It was a great concert!
Wow what a beautiful arrangement with the full orchestra behind the group. Probably my most favorite song from them
No matter how many years the first version was performed, the Live version is always awesome, Thank you TDN!!❤
Yes we were born in a wonderful variety of great music.thankful😊😊
This song, just like Three Dog Night, is very underrated. Not for me. I happen to think that this is one of the best songs they ever did. Anyone agree?
Number one in my book. Need a tissue sometimes.
The stars aligned when they were together. Pure perfection and so missed. Few other songs even come close.
Three Dog Night,, Was The First Album I Bought,, When I Was 15 Years Old,, In 1970 ,, I Really Dug Chuck Negron,, He Was Very Cool!!!!!
These guys were, and have always been, rock gods to me. I am completely stunned with the passing of Cory Wells......
+Cato Meador me too
RIP Cory Wells ! Great group and song !
...yeah. He was from Dunkirk, NY, a town south of Buffalo. He was born Emil Lewandowski and when the band hit it big, his friends back home castigated him for being a sell-out, playing “pop” music. Can you believe that?
All 3 of the guys could really sing !!
I SAW THIS GREAT BAND AT A COUNTY FAIR . WHAT A TREAT.
This is just SO DAMNED GOOD. Three Dog Night was one of very few bands from the late '60s and early '70s who could play a 90-minute live show of nothing but one hit after the next. Think about that.
Yes, the happiest times! 64 and going strong 💪 out in the country ...
1970 Three Dog Night wonderful times!
Love this song yes so peaceful .This so is so cory wells singing about the country and he so loved fishing❤ RIP Cory
