  • Beautiful and natural Russian Alexandrite pear shape 1.50 carats beautiful natural gemstone excellent quality with light banding color change. This is a most fantastic gemstone t5and it was just re-cut recently from a larger Russian Alexandrite that had a chip in it, so yes a little weight was lost in the re-cut but with the cut of this pear shape it was well worth it. My price for this one of a kind beauty is only 7,500.00 and its the only one that I have with this modern cut.
As always if you have any questions email or call me at 951 777-5051
    Thank you Bobby

And know where I bought it. And for me I'm not setup to show the different color still working on that part. This one is sold anyway but I will list more in the future Lord wills.

Are you sure this is real? Based on the light refractory, it looks like like it could be synthetic. Natural Alexandrite doesn't look like this

Alexandrite comes in various colors, not all Alexandrite are going to have the same outcome. Some will be more bright, some will be more dull, some will have more purple or more green, either it be natural or lab created. And synthetic (lab created) gemstones are real gemstones just not natural.

Based on this and some of your other videos that I've seen, you really ought to send your stones to GIA to get certified. I think you'll be surprised at how many of them turn out to be man-made. This one definitely looks synthetic.

    • @diamondsforabuck

I am GIA certified and have been for many years. I love my gemstones and have also been collecting for a few decades. These Alexandrites were from Russia and they have already been sold. I do have a few Brazil Alexandrites but they are not as beautiful as the Russians ones. Also A quick point The GIA that we have today will state that almost every gemstone shows indication of heating. This is to protect themselves against lawsuits.

I love how the stones show grey blue to a Smokey green in one spot, but then the light turns it to purple, lavender, or blue. one stone is missing but there are 14 stones all different shades because it's truly raw stone. I thought it was special, and the gemologist said it's sapphire curundum. .. so thrilled

Want clarify somethings since I see some comments & replies that make me go :/
Not all Alexandrite gemstones will look the same, either it be natural or lab created (synthetic). Some will be more bright or more dull and some will be more purple or more green and even in a brownish/yellowish color, they come all differently.
And yes Lab created (synthetic) gemstones are indeed real, they're just not natural.
    Story time:
Recently I brought a gold Alexandrite ring from the pawn shop and I'm curious if it's natural or lab created but it's really pretty and I love it. I also got it for a good prince because literally the sellers thought it was an amethyst they had no idea it was an Alexandrite, I didn't tell them until after I finished my layaway because I didn't want them up the price😂 since even some lab created Alexandrite are still quite expensive .

I have bought one piece and recently acquired another with more than one Carat of oval bezel set Russian alexandrite, I will be visiting the gemologist as soon as it arrives to confirm or argue it’s natural authenticity. It is the green /teal color that shifts to reddish purple which indicates it is Russian so very curious to see what the gemologist finds

Natural and genuine Alexandrite is a King of the Gems beyond diamond of any colors. Only 0.05% is a real alexandrite with the average size 2-4 cts and the remaining that is bigger is lab created and manipulated

hey there, i have an Alexandrite that is about 6 or 7ct. i am attempting to figure out if it is authentic or synthetic. it is set in a 14k ring, the gem turns almost emerald green in daylight, it has i am guessing a 70% color change. i only can make out one, or two possible inclusions, but the gem is almost glass clear. i read somewhere that synthetic Alexandrite DOES NOT turn green in daylight, is this a true statement ? also if you have an email i can send you some pictures. hope you have a happy holidays. very nice Gem in your video as well.

Synthetic Alexandrite can be more on the purple side or more on the green side. Most all of them definitely do look green in sunlight though. A large clean Alexandrite is very likely synthetic unless you come from a very wealthy family.
