What a great team!!!
Hihi Ann! Hihi Julie!!! Hihi Everyone! What a video! Two of my favorite people!!!!
Thank you Spiral black
I love the different accents. It's amazing!
Thank you Sinepari!
I love the Kenyan interviewer's voice and the unique Kenyan accent. Keep building your interviewing skills. My view is that Nairobians' behaviour is not because people think you want to steal from them. That's a superficial response. The real reason is that's normal behaviour in international cosmopolitan cities like New York or London etc. What most people don't realise is that Nairobi is a highly westernised city; and this is not necessarily a good thing since most kenyans love their African culture, like greetings, etc. Some people may think I am gassed because I am Kenyan, but most African cities are not as westernised. This is not surprising considering that for decades, Nairobi has had one of the highest expat populations in Africa. While such westernisation has its price, many African American relocating to the African continent feel at home in Nairobi and Jo'rbug. That's why Nairobi is a favourite global tourist city. Everything has a price.
is it really a good thing AA dont want to explore their west african roots? they want to stick with conveniences of their familiar life and yet want to be given special treatment. they are nigerians, ghanians, senegalese by roots.
I think I want to visit Tanzania for sure. I've been studying the entire African continent. I work with many Ethiopians and Nigerians here in the US, and they are telling me to go!
Please come ,! You will love it !

Thank you George 😊
Very interesting show well explained, comparisons very hilarious
Thank you Ken .I am happy you enjoyed the conversation 😊😊
Just a little insight;
1.The pimping of matatus has been a culture since way back not from 2012 as Ann puts it.Its just a culture.
2.Street food should remain street food..that's why it should be eaten along the streets
3.SACCO...Saccos are individually or company owned and every Sacco is allocated a spefic route to ply and all member matatus are only expected to operate within those routes. This is a requirement by the government to help in managing and controlling the matatu industry. Incase of any misbehaviour by member it becomes easily traceable right from the Sacco.
Thank you for the great insight 😊😊😊😊
I used to ride in those pimped matatus in Nairobi in rhe 1980s. They were not as colorful as they are today but still ...
Wowwwww😊😊
Thank you for insight 😊😊😊😊
Great and informative video, Ann. I am sorry that you got your phone and laptop stolen.

Matatu pimping was there even in the 90's. I remember Umoja, Buruburu and Lang'ata in the early 2000's had the best pimped out nissan minibuses
Thank you for the insight 😊😊😊

Stop it..😂😂😂 matatu culture started in 80s got super heavy in 90s..still trying to catch up with 90s golden era.
Thank you for insight😊😊😊❤❤
SHe was born the other day so please excuse her.
She looks Kenyan. Like a Meru.
😅😅😅okay
I don't believe the explanation of this lady.i have traveled extensively in Africa and I live in south Africa. This behavior of not greeting other human being either in matatu or in the street is only in Kenya, can only describe it being untiafrican and unsocial behavioural that came to Kenya late back 90s, before it wasn't like that.
It's not Kenyan culture.
In some countries eg some parts of South Africa people would stop you if you pass them without greeting them. They will ask you if you have a problem.
Did you hear the part I said I spoke to someone & got robbed my phone & laptop?
Have you heard of stories where someone just touched you barely in the process you get drugged & stolen from everything
So imagine the damage if you say a simple hi...
Nairobi is urbanised ‼️
Those are the differences that make us Africans unique, let Ugandans be Ugandans and Kenyans be Kenyans,no right or wrong behavior, thats my opinion.😅
Yes yes yes George😊😊😊

I could ask Tina ...

😊😊
stop painting a bad picture of nairobi there are no thieves but good custodians of carelessly placed items
Usisahau mutura😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 yesss!!!
Saccos help matatu operators to be disciplined when you have a complain it's easy to identify the culprit through the sacco
Wowww😊😊😊😊
Great insight phoebe
In Mombasa people greet each other in the matatu. Nairobi on the otherhand things are different. Mind your own business.
Yes ,in Mombasa natives there are super friendly 😊😊😊
I love this Ann
Thank you Maria❤️❤️
Kenya yetu Ann, the sorry effects of capitalism..
I agree!
Music is one of Nairobi's culture😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
🇰🇪 we're being misrepresented. Some of us always say asante. Otherwise a nice video.
Did you hear the part where I said it depends on where you are ?
When everyone is a thief do u count yourself also? You met the wrong person and it can happen anywhere in the world, Kenyans mind there business and also think women who say greet everyone is a slay queen, it depends on the situations.
💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Nganya za 'foward' made me hate Nairobi 😢
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Pole🙆♂️
You don't say "Me personally" use "I", e.g "I don't like cold food" Kenyans have good English but huyu mkenya ametuangusha na kizungu mwitu
😂😂😂😂😂 thank God English is my 3rd language
Ms SeSe you are pretty not to look at P Y W
🙏
Host talking too much.
😂😂😂😂😂 that why we are on youtube😊
You should let the interviewee do the talking...
Did you read the part in the title where I said I will be explaining the culture shocks my friend is experiencing?
Who paid your phone and laptop ? A pimp?
What do you think ? Guess....😊
the host is beautiful but she is not a listener...she is saying okay even before the guest finishes her words....be a listener when conducting interviews and dont talk too much
What did she that I missed so that you can say am not a good listener?
Learn to listen to other people's opinions
The host is just sharp. The guest is equally sharp. I loved the show
