Helmet is super underrated. Page is actually a jazz guitarist and his syncopations whilst singing is still top tier!
l saw Helmet in 1997 at the old Ziggy's in Winston-Salem, NC BUT l actually went there to see the mighty MELVINS.
Helmet and Melvins kicked me off into the world of thrash punk
@@Siragray Ziggy's was the best. I saw NOFX and No Use for a Name there right around the same time. Looking at the internet, it looks like it was 03/08/1998. I also saw a lot of other ska and punk shows there.
I LOOOVE HELMET 🤟🏾
glad I'm not epileptic...the blinking would shred my savage soul...
I legit thought I needed to buy a new tv 😂
Thanks man... thought my TV was on its deathbed
Might as well call this guitarists play Nirvana
Me? STP "Plush" was the song that taught me how to read tab. Everything Nirvana, Misfits, RHCP.
The Biohazard / Helmet riffs came out of left field. Nice to see. That slow riff that starts Punishment is baaaad assssss.
So.... Nirvana, Nirvana and Nirvana. Gotcha!
cool to see a lot of my favorite guitarists nowadays playing classics I grew up with too
My first riff was also Come As You Are LOL. First song was Cant Stop
I started playing guitar when I was like 7 or 8 and the 1st song I ever learned was the opening to the unplugged version of "Hotel California" by The Eagles. It took me like 7 months to learn it. But I got the jist of it. 2 other songs that I learned when I was young was "One" and "Enter Sandman" by Metallica. "Heart Shaped Box" by Nirvana had to be the most hardest for me to play simply because of the changes in the chords and single notes. My favorite song that I loved playing was "Brain Stew/Jaded" by Green Day. I think "Hitch for a Ride" by Green Day is awesome to play too. I was into a lot of music as a kid and still am.
But you're not famous.........
@@helvete42 Not saying I am
4:22 Foo Fighters trying sound like Sonic Youth
My era so many classics to choose from.
I'll say it again Nita Strauss is a bad azz 🤘🏼.
" 20 musicians play 3 songs"
Thanks for reminding me of Biohazard... own a top metal triple cd with them on it, the song @14:06 till 14:35 is 'Punishment' by Biohazard btw, that song and mostly the intro is really awesome, definitely considering it was recorded in 1992 when I was only 1 years old... damn.
Mine was the riff from 007 James Bond, follow by blink 182s dammit I believe.
@LoudwireMusic you guys should probably fix this video or put an epilepsy warning at the beginning of the video. The video starts to flash colors on and off starting @15:19
This made me realize i need to listen to more bands! I don't know who any of these people are lol
Thought my damn tv was f&@ked for a minute! It’s not April fools yet guys cmon! 😂
only 2 bass players in this video? Lol..Tye and Sami you rock brothers..
First song I learned on bass was Brain Stew from Green Day. Then I think Dammit from Blink 182.
lol the first song I learned on guitar was Spiders by SOAD
As a guitarist in the 90s who started learning in 1988, one of the first 90s songs I had learned, was actually by Queen. Before Nirvana and all that we had classic bands like Queen putting out albums and we had Innuendo in early 1991 and the first single in the US and Canada was Headlong. It is in drop D tuning and it still rocks.
Mine was Californication and come as u are...
Biohazard was the one of the first ones to mix rap , hardcore type sht .. No credits?? WTF!!
Smells Like Teen Spirit is in F, not F#.
Always makes me laugh when people say "the first riff I ever learned was one I think _most_ people my age learned" followed by a jacked version of Smells Like Teen Spirit.
How can _so many_ people play a riff _that_ iconic wrong?
Goddammit where’s Them Bones
First guy blows the riff 😂
1333XX
He just played it in a different key you dolt, the chords are still correct
Oh, I can see it's in a different key, I have eyes and a theory degree lol
Doesn't change the fact it's incorrect. In fact, that underlines it 😁
"Come as you are"? That was the riff of "Eighties", a song by the British Band Killing Joke from 1984.
Shut up
What about smoke on the water???
Not 90s.
No love for Big Jim Martin!? This list has been immediately discounted
I think you could’ve at least timed the blinking in the video with the muted downstrokes…
I have no idea who any of these people are. But I know they really like Nirvana.
Metallica One
Y'all never ask real ones like Morello to play his fav ish
“Real ones” My goodness please continue to pontificate grammatical slop.
Really, no smoke on water?
What is going on with the video lol
No Marilyn Manson or Janes Addiction?
I think poly was my cherry too
Jared Dines? Really? Really Loudwire?
No zeppellin, sabbath....
First ig 😂
why is jared dines there lmao sounds like shit
7:03 Nita's tone is always horrid. She is a great player But her tone sucks.
So Kurt Cobain destroyed and revived metal at the same time. Very interesting.
Fuck Nirvana, The best thing about them was Dave Grohl
Dave grohl best thing was Nirvana
🤡
Nirvana are so overrated its unreal. There were so many superior alternative rock artists/bands that destroy them musically before and after :-)
Always some dumbass (you) who thinks they are smarter than everyone else and instead shows their ignorance off. Nirvana changed the game. Some bands may have had more talent, some may have had more skill, but it’s undeniable Nirvana changed the game. You’re literally sitting here with all these great musicians saying how Nirvana inspired them and going “nah”. You’re so cool kid.
And yet, influenced nobody, unlike Nirvana 😅
Enough with all the Nirvana crap
I know. Who would think the biggest rock band in the world would go on to get so much attention and inspire so many people to become musicians? Why do people keep talking about them?? It’s so annoying. 🙄
Word. At least we don't have to hear any more shitty riffs or some bastard whining in our ears about his drug problems.
"biggest rock band in the world"? Hardly...@@craigcampbell1843
@@craigcampbell1843😂, you and me would get on well.
As I watch this video I realize just how really bad the music was in the 90’s
Bullshit musician's Playing masterpieces
