    I had the same problem with no floor- without boards the plates take up all the joist doubling space leaving no lip for floorboards. Apparently, you effectively triple the joists but with the middle joist cut up as noggins to lighten the weight.

    Don’t mean to be critical but you repeatedly mention work ethic but you don’t actually get much done,
    A day to post a video of you putting up the rough framework for a stud wall.
    Should take about an hour ish
    Lovin everything else though just a bugging thought whilst watching your videos

    I had a casual friendship with a guy who when we met on the street would chat a bit. He was a hairdresser. I didn’t see him for a couple of years then ran into him again. I asked if he was still a hairdresser. No, he said, he was now ran a Mutual Fund. How did that happen. I asked. He kind of said it was a long story. My take away was he knew someone in the business and got a job.

    Think a bath is really nice to have but if it makes things easier, you can always forgo it. Overseeing construction is a very tedious process because the workers sometimes are juggling many houses at the same time. Having blue-collar skills is no less than white collar skills. If someone is good at journalism and is making a difference, good on him :-) If someone is good at fixing keys, good on him too. It just depends on what u want to do. The house looks like it's coming together. I wish I know how to build and fix things 😅😅

    While I am very admirative of all the work/energy you put into these projects, there are a few things I don't agree with. People from London being utter c**t. Well, you had the privilege of messing about with the 0.0001% richest in the country and 0.01% in London. It is absolutely not representative of the country, let alone London. Please stop make these bold statements about rich Londeners...in what world do you live in?!

    • @jeromeuk
      @jeromeuk 10 месяцев назад +4

      Not sure what that means, I am living in London, I consider myself wealthy relative to the country's average - as are my friends - but I do not recognise myself in any of the caricatures I hear in these videos. But, as I mentionned, I love the energy and will to accomplish something big, quite stunning actually 👊

    • @EpicTutorialTips

      @@jeromeuk - I found it very cold when I lived there. Moved to London when I was much younger to push forward with career prospects, and while the money was good, the people were generally very self-absorbed. It is ironic really, as you would often hear on the news how London had this unbreakable community spirit, but after spending a year there, it feels empty in comparison to almost everywhere else in the country.
      I'm not sure if Londoners themselves actually realise it, as I imagine many of them have seldomly ever left London to visit other parts of the country; but it really does lack a true sense of community.

      I spend half of my time on the country side so I am well aware of the greater sense of community outside london, people are just themselves without agenda. But that's the same in any country in the world, let's forget the Brexit BS for 5mn 😂 action is in the big cities, not in the countryside. If you have invested a lot of time and efforts in exams to qualify in well paid jobs, well you want to measure yourself to the best in business. It's not gonna happen in the country side. I am just saying, stop the London bashing because of 0.001% of pointless individuals. If you have ambition, there is competition. So we shall stop the lalaland BS thing.

      My first job out of school (finance) was as a Product Manager for a large electrical equipment manufacturer. All the others were electrical engineers. They had been looking for EE's, Jimmy Carter recession. Boring job but if needed to know if product suitable for an application would ask the EE's in the draft room. They taught me what I needed to read basic diagrams. During summers off school though worked for a steel company and engineering company making the material that made space shuttle tiles hold up during entry/re-entry etc, accounting office in another - to get as much broad experience as could. There's a great deal of truth in what he (and Elon Musk btw) says. IMHO and experience anyway

      Yes, you can learn things without a degree.. but without proper education there a lot of things you are missing.
      And Elon of course employees people without a degree. But it depends on the role.
      I 100% sure you will not go up in skyscraper built by someone who learnt on the job 👍🏽

      @@mikaelmalmberg154 Yes I did. I got out of school after my, junior year, did not graduate. Full on recession then, and could not afford to go back as was paying my own way, and was tired of being a brike college student. That's was when schoil costs didn't leave you in such massive debt the day you graduated. I think you are nit picking Chris for some reason, sorry, and missing his broader point. The occupations that require degrees/advanced degrees and board certifications are really not that many, nor required if you are focused on making money, gaining financial freedom and love what you are doing.. He also says, rightly imho, you do you. If you are happy making x dollars and enjoy what you do perfect.. If you want to be a Dr or engineer designing buildings or a CPA instead of a regular accountant n do what boards require and are happy. Great. But, yes, by and large I totally agree with him. The people I know that are happy and are financially very, very successful are self made. If what the business absolutely requires a position with an employee with a degree and board certs they hire them. But they own the company, make way more money than that person and simply hire those they find to be the best for others. The 'new economy' has been fully in play and growing for a long time. You can own a large medical or engineering company and have no degree. There are many obvious multi million n billionaires with no degree. I'm sorry you appear so defensive about his commentary, and it bothers you so much.. Me, think he's a pretty saavy young guy.
