    I've been watching your videos for a few months now and have a few observations:
    1 - You come across as a very honest and intelligent person, and that adds an interesting and refreshing sense to your videos. Many other RUclipsr's videos; not so. Many just don't have the credentials(either experience or knowledge) to be what they say they are. Their information and advice is many times not correct and they do not seem to have a complete command of the topic they profess.
    2 - Owning a Ferrari seems a lot less of a risk. After watching you owning and driving yours for a few months without requiring a new engine or new tranny, your Ferrari's dependability seems like a typical car.
    3 - It's nice to know that Ferrari people can be humble, helping and friendly. That really was a surprise. Years ago and soon after I had purchased my first Porsche 911, I thought about joining the local PCA. I was surprised to find them very rude, intolerant, ignorant, and obsessed with who had the bigger dick. Maybe it's the locale here in silicon valley which is full of egotistic and narcissistic morons.
    4 - Lastly: Watching your video it's obvious you listened to your Mom growing up, about cleaning behind your ears regularly. She must be proud of how well you clean back there... LOL
    5 - There seems to be a lot more traffic in Austin since I was last there about 5 years ago. I never ran into as much traffic as you seem to have there now. What is up with that??? And, I never could get used to those horizontal signal lights at intersections, I found them confusing being horizontally oriented.

      mariodesmo - It's not just your local chapter of PCA. The ones in Los Angeles, and the various little clubs for Porsche owners or enthusiasts are very similar. Since Porsche is a big manufacturer relatively speaking, everyone here is busy comparing who's got the latest and greatest at an event.
      "Oh, you got a 991 C4S? Well, I got the 991.2 Targa C4S! That guy only has a 997.2 Carrera, guess he ain't that rich. Don't bother with those guys with the 996. Boxsters? Bleh. Also, we are better than Ferrari or Lambo owners because we're real enthusiasts and Porsche is a racing car!"

    • @FlyingTigersKMT
      @FlyingTigersKMT 7 лет назад

      Daniel Hurlbert - You are right though. I've hung out with FCA people here during car meets and events. They sponsored a few nice events for local charities and invited us other marques to join them. Nice bunch of people, just older and more mature it seems.

      @@FlyingTigersKMT Yeah but not just in the States also here in Germany there´s this famous RUclipsr JP who´s a massive Porsche-fanboy and every chance he gets he trashes and belittles Ferraris like they aren´t worthy, despite being the oldest Sportscarcompany that still exists. At least he´s not into comparing who has the longest :D

    Daniel, you call yourself an introvert yet you started and continue to publish a RUclips channel. The reef aquarium aside, you're the star, not the car or the vacations or the infotainment. Seems like you've come out of your shell pretty well. I enjoy your channel very much and look forward to more of your insights. Thanks fellow Hurl-bat.

      I think it's awesome that you've chosen this method to help move you away from the introverted side. That's my goal for sure. Hurlbut is very much the norm in my experience. As soon as I say my last name the person I'm speaking to almost always spells it H U R L B U T. And then I have to correct them. We have an 11 year old and he runs into this all the time. I've always found it interesting because honestly, I never thought it was a hard name to spell.

    The three things that I observed about supercar or classic car owners as follows: one, the car culture/openness, they seem to be very appreciative, two, I can't help but laugh when they look for a parking spot.... And last, now that I'm looking for a car, my friends are introducing me to other car owners and I have a feeling that circle will help me with my business---you know what I mean. Anyway, I've learned a lot from you and thanks for keeping it real.

Everyone seems to blow that yellow ! I work next door at the Park & saw your car there, but would never intrude on your lunch. I heard you pull out @ the light leaving The Park ! When I leave work I often get a hard pull @ that light too ! Take care . See you @ Car's & coffee....

      Sounds great, even if I’m the only one that likes it I’ll be happy. It’s excellent and he has a lot of followers. Maybe you could check out his format ? ruclips.net/video/ioar-1O3HHQ/видео.html

      I think that mostly you reap what you sow, and you do lay things out nicely for people who bother to listen. You have proper real world references that applies to normal educated people, and others probably won't be bothered listening to you because your messages takes a while. You reflect, and ask others to reflect on a level where most probably don't go...and Ferraris are still not mainstream....hey that was another.17c ;-)

      If I'm not mistaken that's similar to the F1 transmission in the 360s where it is a regular manual transmission but shifted by actuators with a computer-controlled clutch. It isn't perfect but I see plenty of people on RUclips that can't shift a manual as well as these.

    • @saibushayer
      @saibushayer 7 лет назад

      Ferraris tend to get a lot of attention, I'm guessing half of them are women. Besides, I'd much rather be disappointed now than after I get one (Wishful thinking :))

    • @Wodz30
      @Wodz30 7 лет назад

      No the vast majority of attention to the car is coming from MEN. Most women honestly do not care about fancy cars. Only two types of women will give you attention in these cars; gold diggers and actual car enthusiasts. Doug Demuro has a video on this. The best part of the video is when he lets his blonde female friend drive the car and go get gas. Guys keep coming up to her and instead of hitting on her they keep asking questions about the CAR. The only attention you will get from having these cars is from GUYS. That is what Daniel is saying.. you're going to be very very disappointed if you want one of these cars to get girls :) When I start dating someone new I typically only let them see my Mercedes. If you start out dating a woman and she knows you have a Ferrari you cannot be quite sure about her intentions. Be smart about it :)

    Your approach is what leads to your positive praise in the virus that is RUclips. You are relatable and come across as an average guy. Many of the Ferrari owner videos are douchebags simply showing off their cars and lifestyle. It is actually quite rare to come across a channel where you see someone working on their car, providing helpful tips to others, and showing a general connection to the "average" audience members here. That is a huge separation from what most everyone is used to. I was watching some videos of a guy that has a F430 and a McLaren 570 and he simply looks like a total douchebag and when speaking he just sounds like a complete asshole. He has all of these reaction videos and people are constantly saying negative things to him in person and defacing his cars. Those are the types of videos that most people here are used to seeing. Douchebag owners posting reaction videos. Imagine them talking about their FCA experiences... non-existent. Doug Demuro, Rob Feretti (sp) and yourself complete the triangle of approachable, relatable guys that are kind enough to pass along very helpful information. That being said your channel provides the most insight into actual ownership and is of immeasurable value to the RUclips community. As an FCA member I tend to keep to myself and I never post videos. I mainly purchased my car to network in the FCA community. I try to avoid reactions and speaking with others in person about the car as I am not very social and dislike that type of attention. Keep up the great work :)
