Yeah, it's very good that Hearthstone lacks any interaction on your opponents turn what so ever. How dare MTG and YGO giving their players ways to counter opponents plays.
Nah it ruined the game, protects were fine but interruptions turned the game into 1 turn games where either you negated all your opponents cards turn 1 or they produced a board that negated all cards you played, not healthy at all. To prove how crap gameplay became I ran a zombie lock deck that locked my opponent out of playing monsters needless to say I saw many people scoop before it became their turn.
@@greedy4063 Objection being in standard absolutely felt like playing against a Mono Blue deck at times tho... i once played SIX Objections and three counterspells in a deck specifically built around discovering spells and secrets... it was disgusting, people conceded to me before they were even close to losing >:)

Mark is the John Wick of hearthstone OTK's. You can give that man a piece of chewing gum and 2 uno cards and he'll figure out a way to kill you in one turn.
I was there live for the paladin fail, and us chatters saw that shit coming from miles away and he still fucked up so confidently. Best moment of this challenge haha.

Mark honestly is one my favorite hearthstone creators, he always does what i thought i could do never is really mad besides when the opponent goes to rope every turn but who wouldn’t be.
Ah, remember the good Ole days when Mecha'thun was so popular that Toast was able to use it as the win condition without putting it in his deck? Great times.

Shattershambler is kinda iffy because Secret Passage helps massively cut down on tediousness for emptying hand post Myra's, but you can rarely do that if mecha'thun dies immediately when played. Serrated Tooth, Wild Pyromancer, or broomstick helps with that problem, though it thankfully worked out anyways
rarran, when you upload it makes my day. I watch your videos every night to fall asleep, the fact you are so entertaining and upbeat adds so much to the nostalgia and excitement I have towards HS. I started playing the game in 2015 when I was just 15 years old, I remember going to cologne gamescon that year with my dad and not being allowed to preview any of the games other than HS because of the age restrictions. We just queue'd up over and over again to play against each other. It means a lot to me to have the opportunity to feel that same way whenever you upload your silly little vids. :)

I think something worth mentioning as a once Control Warrior main, is Fibonacci had a deck that was destroying ladder where he just ran this as a 10/10 with rush (rush being from the Dr. Boom hero since it's a mech). It was a legitimately good inclusion in the meta at the time, and he even managed to win some otherwise lost games by triggering it successfully with shield slam or execute as his last card.
I truly adore this card, my claim to fame is i had a pretty long stint (entirety of darkmoon faire and barrens) where Mechathun Warlock wasn't meta where I was probably the post prolific and high ranked Mechathun player in wild. I was getting a few hundred games a month on Mechathun Warlock when it was c tier

Yes, Mark is very much insane. Just today, he made a video on Even Triple Quest Priest. It is as insane as it sounds and he managed to win a game.
God, that Mechathun Priest deck is such a me deck I want to install Hearthstone just for it
It's funny that Rarran didn't believe in priest, considering there was a really good tier 1 or 2 deck during Boomsday where MechCthun was the win condition. That's the last expansion I played this god forsaken game, but this video makes me want to go back and play that deck.
My mind always goes back to that deck sometimes. Like what mad lad thought, hmm yes 2 reckless experimenter 2 ticking abomination mechathun wins the game
Heaps of freebies for returning players. Mechathun is only playable in wild and some decks in that mode are super aggressive. Certainly fun to pull it off when it works. I love playing the game, most fun though is playing against friends. They can borrow your deck or you can borrow theirs.
@@TheWarick Yeah maybe a year and a half ago I tried again, right before Nathria came out. I got a free druid deck which was cool but I wasn't impressed with too much so I uninstalled the same day.
I've been playing LoR recently, but since that game is winding down updates I've been considering trying Hearthstone again. It's just a tough pill to swallow going from a game where you can get 100% of the collection as a FTP player in maybe 6 months of casual play versus Hearthstone where if you want a full collection or even just several competitive decks, you need to shell out.
Fun video, but I kinda wish he had played the old Mechathun priest from when the card first came out, with Hemet Jungle Hunter and the ticking abominations that blew themselves up. One of the weirdest, coolest combos from back in the day.
Great video as always. I can propose I'd like you to see the Hakkar challenge. The card has great flavour that was not explored very much.

My second time ever hitting legend was with control warrior. Most people ran Archivist Elysiana to win the control matchup but I ran Mechathun instead. In the control matchup you always had a ton of armor so I added in one Galvanizer and saved a shield slam for the otk.

My priest mechathun deck used plagues, pyshic screams, and all that stuff to constantly wipe the board with some early cards to keep myself alive so I could hemet my entire deck. Then there was this deathrattle combo you could do once you had it, which were all above hemet's deck destruction that cost 10 mana exactly that summoned then killed mecha'thun. So you just had to survive to turn 5 and you basically won if the opponent didn't have lethal in hand.

Myra's is a trap in Mechathun rogue. So is Hemet. I play a version of mechathun rogue in wild, and it's pretty alright. It's definitely capable of climbing at chicken rank, that's for sure. Myra's is simply too slow. Rogue has plenty of other draw engines that are much faster, and much more reliable than trying to luck into a specific spell.
The trick is knowing that you can go wide on the board and clear out your board using ticking abomination. Anka, Mechathun, Shattershambler, abomination is the combo. It's just a 4 card 8 mana combo to win, and you can play whatever else you want in your deck, minus anything that doesn't 100% die to abomination. Rogue has so many crazy draw engines that you can basically do whatever else you want with your deck. Because you plan to play 26 cards in your deck before the combo, you have plenty of resources to fight for board and deal with pressure. As long as your draw engine is strong enough, you can fight for board while drawing your entire deck and executing your combo on turn 7. Wild is crazy like that.
I personally settled on Field Contact to power cycle through my entire deck and have a ton of flexibility in countering other decks. There are so many dirt cheap battlecry minions that you can swap out to tailor your deck against a specific meta. Add in Octobot (ping it yourself) to reduce your entire hand to almost zero, and the only real challenge is playing your cards fast enough and calculating your draws so you don't mill yourself to death while executing your combo. It's an incredibly challenging deck to play, in the same way that legacy oil rogue deck was balanced on a knife's edge of viability, but it's very fun deck to play. I can reliably execute the combo on turn 7-8, and it's theoretically possible to play the combo on turn 6 if you get perfect draws. It's still slower than mine rogue on average, but I have multiple anti-combo tools that allow me to fight other combo decks in a different way.
Also, I love that Rarran ran into the mechathun bug. Blizzard hasn't fixed it in multiple months. I've been annoyed by this bug for months now. It even happens on mobile. Hopefully this video grabs someone's attention at Blizzard.
The ultimate challenge is giving mechathun to your opponent with treachery and making sure they win with it

Priest, warlock, and warrior were the ones i found the easiest back in the day.
Warlock was good enough back then but it got its bloom nerfed.
Priest drew crazy but needed a reckless exp, coffin crasher, double ticking abom and mechathun himself in that order.
Warrior used boomship, malygos and double whirlwind (somehow).

Shaman Mechathun is actually not bad. The decklist you have is pretty outdated, instead of all 1 cost spells, you run a deck similar to Wild frog shaman. You use the card Spirit of the Frog to draw through your entire deck while keeping your opponent at bay, to then do the combo. Even at Wild standards, I’d say it’s tier 3, maybe even tier 2 (low key coping)
Hi rarran! I have seen this card game called "beneath oresa" wich looks pretty interesting and i am sure it will make for good content because the game has nice animations and its pretty fun to watch. Its kinda like slay the spire but with a Knight that has a big ass sword that swings and hits every time you attack lmao

You may notice alot of the opponents hover your face when their turn is over for 0 reason, these are very likely bots, they are running more streamlined decks now so its harder to tell but I can assure you 70% of those weren't real people, even in wild its a problem :/
Edit: Another thing they do is read every single card you play, and concede the turn they spot lethal on board, but first play out their cards

The only thing crazy about it is how they decided it would be a good idea to simulate the experience of trying to play a game with a younger sibling that doesn't get the rules of the game, loses stupendously, fits and howls bloody murder about how it's not fair and they won, and as the older sibling you just give up and tell them they won to get them to stop crying. With zero intention to ever play with them again. Fuck Mecha'thun.

in wild i met a guy with meca tune but i forgot what he had exactly he had like bees that attacks a minion you droped, he droped something and he had like 2k armor on him and he fatigue me as his second win condition he try the meca thun but i put cards in his deck, with that deck i'm pretty sure the win rate it's 100%

Nazmani, Clergy, Radiant Elemental Whirlpool and fill the deck with draw minions spells and a bunch of 0-1cost heals much easier deck. Roffle and Mark made videos about the imo the better version of this deck if anyone want to try it very fun to otk turn 5
